Why were they so popular in the 80's and 90's?Post anything chipmunks, here discuss chipmunks, who's your favorite chipmunk?https://youtu.be/uV5P6RQd8Wk?si=uWOvMCM1-mwVm6qo
has there been anything or any plans announced after the alvinnn show?
>who's your favorite chipmunk?
>>153321883i havent heard anything but i would like a reboot of the original series in 2d animation and they just go on adventures would be very kino. it doesnt have to be chipmunk adventure production tier, just cleaner visuals with the gang.>>153321890ahah anonnnn
>>153321890>The chipmunks looked like animals>The chipettes looked like midget girls they didn't even try to make them remotely animal likeThis always bothered me and it still bothers me
Beep, beep, beep, beep...
>>153321944me too. when i was a kid i thought they were weird small humans
>>153321865Ross Bagdasarian Jr. pushed the IP during the 80s and 90s and while "liked" it wasn't as good as the original 60s show, now of days it's only remembered for Witch Doctor rips on SiIvaGunner which is keeping Alvin alive in this day of age.>>153321883Ross Bagdasarian Jr. was plaining on selling it to Paramount (Nick) back in 2020 but Covid happened and then the Skydance merger happened, and now the Warner Bros merger is happening (to the point that Nick was split into 2, network operations (as in the business side of things) went to CBS while Warner Bros got the cartoon production arm of it) so the sale is as of now being held off.
>>153321944Maybe only in the sense the boys didn't really have hair (just fur tufts) whereas the girls had full heads of hair.Otherwise they have the same characteristics.
I used to have the chipmunk adventure movie on vhs and really enjoyed it. The girls vs boys thing really hit for me, the same way the rowdy ruff boys episodes of the Powerpuff Girls did. Plus the hot air balloon was cool. For some reason as a kid hot air balloons were in everythinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdEg2vDRxOkJust found this random lore about why their mom abandoned them damn
>>153321865They actually weren’t popular in the 1990s at all.The 1980s was when they were really popular.
>>153321944And thank hood ness it was that way.In the 1980s we evolved past that “put eyelashes on a male cartoon character and call them a girl” like Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck. They knew they had to make the females attractive for little boys and idolized by little girls.
Simon dates Jeanette as teens but Jeanette secretly has a crush on Alvin so one day she makes an advance on him when she thinks Simon isn't around but he catches them.
>>153321883No, between the 4th movie and the nick series the IP's flatlined horrifically. If it were upto me I'd just cut a deal with MeTV Toons, Shout Factory, and Tubi. Remaster the original series/movies and just put the old stuff back out there. You wont get another shot at it anytime soon. Iron out the kinks while there's still a market for this stuff.
>>153321944They have all the same facial traits anon. You can tell the chipettes are also animals from their cartoon rodent noses and buckteeth.
>>153322173If they'ed followed the lead of the smurfs films a 5th fully animated installment addressing their mom could have been a decent way to build up interest in the series again. Maybe.
>>153322552but their skin looks human they don't look like they have fur
>>153322173you can still find it if you know where to find it
