Why was He-Man popular? It's kind of lame. Most of the characters being toy gimmicks really breaks my immersion. Characters like Ram-Man, Man-E-Faces, and Tri-Klops were just such obvious toy gimmicks that it totally breaks my immersion, they just clearly came up with a gimmick for an action figure and made a character around it

Suddenly this bright colorful action cartoon hits the air AND you tell me I can go down to the toy store to find the same characters I can beg my parents to buy?And it was the first one to market (Blackstar notwithstanding) with a syndicated show based on a toyline How could it NOT succede?
