God I gave this book a chance at first, getting a job at a company doing super science and the frantic first arc with a drugged Peter was fun but everything since then has been so shit except a few times when characters like Tombstone saw through Norman's Spider-Man act.

Norman taking over was quaint, but I'm ready for him to be Green Goblin again. So it got derailed by that awful Imperial event and then immediately went into this Venom/Carnage crossover. I just want Kelly to get back to what he was doing before because that stuff was good.

Once this oneshot releases, will it become clear what their artistic intent was in focusing on this random guy who shows up and then gets dropped off a cliff after killing off characters for shock value and headline-bait? No, it can't become any clearer. He, like all these characters, is treated as a tool. As a tool, he served no purpose in the story. As a tool his usage was to eliminate other tools from play that have had their audience-bafflability dulled so that new tools can be brought in to baffle you into looking for answers that you'll never find, because the answers lie outside of the story. The one true answer is that they're hacks who can't write a book worth buying for any good reason. Are you still reading for any reason besides "Why the fuck did they do this?" Really?
