So this entire series is just about male loneliness, right?
>>153340773No, its about a guy named Plague Roach who tries to maintain a positive attitude in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
>>153342585I sort of got the impression that there was a bit more under the surface and especially since the creator is one of those multi-media types of dudes the delivery method doesn't seem like it's the end all.
>>153340773I don't think it was the creator's intention but I related it to trying to be a creator in the age of gen slop>lone schizo with no audience dedicates himself to a contrived personal art project while being shit on by robots who were created explicitly to try and break his spirit
>>153344174Yeah the series was created way before AI, which is why in my mind it seems that if there was anything attributed to this it would have been male loneliness in general.>guy basically completely isolated due to a situation completely out of his control akin to how society generally approaches socialization now, so much so that he genuinely questions his own perception>is revealed that it didn't actually have to be like that, there was more room in the stasis chamber he shut himself in but he didn't because he didn't like the few people he had the option of bringing with him>for presumably years Plague Roach accepts every single familiar celebrity that he sees even though he quite plainly states he pretty much knows that they are robots, which indicates that he's so desperate he can be over positive and chooses to not see obvious warning signs>the robots are just plainly abusive people who are trying to make themselves feel better by making Plague Roach feel badThere's also the fact that>he can tend to rush immediately to keeping the human population alive through reproduction (the Kate Beckinsale episode)>has Nicole and the other mannequins set up as audience members, kind of sees Nicole as a partner of sorts>did the whole waitress voice thing in the OP imageAnd in the end the message about perseverance really comes through where just because you are alone doesn't mean you should completely give up on yourself and act like no one is paying attention. I think that's the importance of the series being framed around a show he broadcasts, he's doing something even though there's a good chance no one will actually ever see it.As this is an ongoing series even though the latest episode was renamed to just "Plague Roach -" instead of the main title I think the newest episode still fits in with that; he's now no longer alone in the literal sense but has found that he doesn't actually fit with those he is around.
