I see a lot of people complain about the sudden interest in animated shows having a serialized, overarching plot that isn't villain of the week or isn't episodic. they can fuck off. it took years for television to have serialized shoes with plot, and longer for animated shows, and people are fucking complaining?>"NOOO THERE'S TOO MANY SHOWS WITH PLOT THERE SHOULD BE MORE SHOWS WITH EVERY EPISODE BEING COMPLETELY ISOLATED"fuck off, I love plot and we'll written stories. the first 60 years of animation had us content with 0 plot. 0 though. just self contained shit.
okay

>>153344919I know what you mean, Western animation was treated as if it was meant only for children. everything was basically Disney cartoon formulas with the additional purpose of selling toys. It set the industry back many years. unfortunately a lot of the people that work in the industry did not grow up mentally, so we have a lot of adult children making stupid decisions from within, regardless of the growth and maturing of the industry itself. I will say, it's nice to move past stupid repeated tropes like who broke mom's vase, or the usual make fun of Japan episode.
