For all the shit it gets, the darker end of superhero comics has a lot of great works, or at least a lot of works that are entertaining or intriguing in some way. But what about the light-hearted end? How many superhero comics (I'm talking entire runs or entire limited series) that are mostly or fully light-hearted, largely free of brutal violence, death, suffering, and crassness, are also great?I've tried comedy series, which mostly fall flat due to being plain unfunny. Some of the episodic comics I enjoy like 40s Plastic Man and 60s Superman are very hit or miss.

>>153352400I appreciate it, friend, but I don't think it's happening tonight.
>>153351923It's called the silver age
>>153353153Specifically Marvel, but some DC titles as well
>>153353153>>153353212Name the ones you consider great. Based on what I've read, the Silver Age mostly isn't very good, and the one almost everyone considers best is full of suffering. My personal favorite is Steranko's Nick Fury, and I consider it good, but not great.
>>153351923All Star Superman I guess would be a big one. Flex Mentallo. Madman I guess would be one. DC New Frontier. Tom Strong, Promethea maybe, I don't remember how dark that one was. I heard the Waid Daredevil was good and light.
>>153353313>All Star SupermanThat's a good one, though it breaks the rules since the entire thing is about death. But it's about looking at the bright side of it, so it works.Flex Mentallo is not so light. I haven't been able to finish Madman. I like the art and the energy it has, but the goings-on are pretty uninteresting.I don't remember New Frontier being light-hearted either.Tom Strong is a good one, and that reminds me of Moore's Supreme run as well. Promethea mostly isn't light-hearted.
