Dont get me wrong it can be an incredibly nasty injury, but not really leathal.The reason why it's banned in MMA and most other fighting sports is kinda like the same reason why trunk squeezes are banned in judo. It is a move that causes pointless injury without actually defeating the opponent.And all this is besides the point that it is still a hold that can easily be pryed away and countered in a fight between individuals who know how to fight. For instance from a full mount trying the move will invariably cause you to get bucked to the side and now your arm is in the oppenents control and ripe for a joint lock.
