I love this show
/co/ is a Peter board anyone who disagrees can fuck off
>>153356163i agree with those threads
>>153356154Hell yeah. TAS fucking rules.
The opening kicked fucking ass, look at all the explosions, it hypes you up!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZGN9fZvQhc
>>153356163at least he changed the text
>>153356154Based
>>153356154I strongly disliked it as a child.but the older I get the more appreciation I get for just how much story they can competently cram into 20 minutes.and the music was great, it took the old cheesy jingle and really elevated it to a proper super hero score.I wish there was more of it available clean.
>>153356154gay fag can't even punch someone
>>153356980you need to be at least 18 to post here
It was kino
>>153356163Nobody got mad when Batman became Latino either.
>>153356980you would not notice this if not for clickbait articles from the 2010s.
punisher + kraven the huner versus man-spider in the Morbius storyarc is ABSOLUTE KINO and the best arc.
>>153356154Every does. That's why it consistenly beat Superman TAS in ratings. Also it was popular in the foreign market like Latin America.
>>153357975>Also it was popular in the foreign market like Latin America. That's not an achievement. Latin America goes nuts for anything not made in their own shitty countries.
>>153357975>That's why it consistenly beat Superman TAS in ratingsSame as it ever was.
>>153356154It was a really good show when I was a a kid.
>>153356154It's tied with TMNT 2004 for the best cartoon superhero show I've seenI was one of the weird kids who thought the Batman show was really fucking stupid with how Bruce always sounded like he was a school teacher trying to sound friendly to kids>>153357502>>153356980Did he never throw a punch? I feel like at least once or twice he's hit something with his fists. Not people but like robots possibly or a door
>>153356154When are we going to get a Blu-ray set for this show for the USA?
Spider-Man TAS was great about not wasting the viewers' time with boring monologues. I mean Peter does talk to himself a lot during the show (just like he does in the comics) but he's always shown web-swinging through the city or sneaking into a laboratory or something during the expository parts. As an action show it did a good job showing lots of action despite that it couldn't show much actual violence
>*mogs the clone saga and spiderverse at the same time*
>>153358976i like that one of the spidermen was just an actor
>>153359207Tobey Maguire?
>>153356154I love all the muscles and masculinity.
>>153356225And the electric guitar.
Whatever happened to comic continuation? I don't remember seeing any /co/ threads.
>>153360217It was generally accepted as shit and never spoken of again.
>>153359938i guess. But in the episode with all the spidermen together one of them had no powers because he was just a pérformer
>>153356980>>153358895When he is Man-Spider he punches Punisher. https://youtu.be/vJ30EiULw_ESpider-Man also punches Spot through one of his portalshttps://youtu.be/aoyIirGw8o4?t=193
I don't watch Marvel shows. I'm a DC fan. It's a hanging crime to enjoy stuff from both companies.
>>153360810You're missing out. That whole era of Marvel cartoons was basically the MCU before the MCU. No idea why X-men and Spiderman are the only ones people talk about tho
>>153360217a bit disappointing
>>153360762damn, Frank got mogged hard
>>153360900I've put it in my mind that I have to read up to like 60 or so Fantastic Four issues and about 30 Spiderman issues first.
>>153360217It's a continuation in name only. Peter finds Mary Jane off-camera, and then the story is mostly a TAS version of Morlun, which makes no sense as Morlun didn't appear in the comics until 2001, so a hypothetical season of Spider-Man TAS starting in Fall 1998 wouldn't have featured him anyway since he wasn't created for another three years. Also the art was butt nasty and didn't look anything like the style of the show.
>>153356154Good for you........
>DANGER!The sound and background visuals of this version of spider sense live in my head rent free.
>>153356154Such a better Venom origin that it has since become cannon.
>>153359938No, it's the VA that voices TAS Spider-Man.
>>153356154I used to have (probably still do) a vhs tape with two episodes in it, one with Kraven being sick and another with the Hobgobin abducting Harry Osborn. I watched the shit out of that tape as a kid
>>153357502Yeah, like I'd just expect an acrobatic fighter like Spidey to be focused on kicks and webs instead of punches
>>153357537>man-spiderPlease be in Brand New Day.Please be in Brand New Day.Please be in Brand New Day.
>>153360810they're both good though
>>153359980Played by Steve Fuckin' Perry from Aerosmith, riffing on the original 60s theme song. Still a little surprising to me that they pulled Steve Perry right in the middle of Aerosmith's second peak of popularity.
>>153356154It gets worse as it goes. I think the first two or three seasons are a decent representation of what the Spider-Man comics were like in the '70s and '80s in terms of tone and style but once Carnage is introduced the show goes downhill fast and the final two seasons are ass. The animation was always pretty shit and the fight scenes aren't good though. Great voice cast and I'll always prefer Ed Asner's JJJ to Simmons'.
If you all want comics that are closest to the tone of the animated series, the Roger Stern run on Amazing Spider-Man in the early 80's is pretty close to the template of the first couple seasons. I can't help but hear Roscoe Lee Brown's voice in my head when I read Kingpin in the Stern run.
>>153362968no thank you
>>153363041Bump
>SHOCKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
