There used to be a "Kermit, Fozzie, and Gonzo are the main three characters" (comparable to Mickey/Donald/Goofy or Bugs/Daffy/Porky) aspect to the Muppets that's not really present in the franchise anymore, and that makes me sad.
>>153365516The muppets aren't cartoons. Although admittedly puppets are very cartoonish.
>>153365516It's more like a Kermit, Fozzie and Piggy now.
>>153365516All the performers are getting old/dead these days.
>>153367668Most of the Muppeteers are actually newer and youngish these days, anon.
>>153365516Gonzo and Rizzo are my favorites
>>153366187Honestly, it feels more like Kermit, Piggy, and then Fozzie, the Electric Mayhem, and sometimes Pepe fighting for third place.
>>153365516It’s better because now the other Muppets get more focus
>>153366152Puppets are animation, argue with the wall.
>>153368756I was mainly just talking about the main 3 in no specific orded, but if it was ordered, Piggy would probably come before Fozzy.I think her archetype has probably aged better than Fozzy's.
>>153365516No it was Kermit Fozzie and ROLPH
>>153369053I love Rowlf, but he was never part of the main three, at least not in the current incarnation of the Muppets. In The Muppet Movie he doesn't appear until halfway through, in The Great Muppet Caper he's just one of the hotel's many inhabitants, and in The Muppet Show he doesn't do anything outside of musical numbers.
>>153365516We're never getting good muppets media again are we?
>>153369243>We're never getting good media again are we?fixed that for you
>>153365516Chicken is in the shadows
>>153365516Are the Muppets still a thing?I thought they faded into semi-obscurity (known, but not very profitable and therefore semi-abandonned) like Fat Albert or something.
>>153369616>kill them all Gonzo>then we can be together
>>153365516I miss when Kermit hated Piggy and dunked on her fat ass all the time. I can't stand that they changed it to froggo being in a relationship with this wretched harridan.
>>153369633They just did an anniversary revival episode of the Muppet Show that did extremely well on both ABC and Disney+ and is likely (not confirmed, but likely) going to result in a full-on revival of the show.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eudFCszjTE0
>>153369243The new CEO of Disney is a Muppetchad so we will see
>>153369183>>153369053Rowlf's washed up but chill about it. Like he was cracking "I used to be on the Jimmy Dean Show" jokes while Henson was still alive.
>>153370865This while Kermit was Jim's first true creation, Rowlf was his first breakout star and that's become essentially part of Rowlf's gimmick. He's kind of the "old man" of the group
>>153365516Kermit got sidelined because his original actor complained about Disney mishandling the muppets, so they fired him.
>>153371601>"his original actor"Anon...Jim Henson has been dead for decades
>>153365516Gonzo and Rizzo have been a comedy duo doing their own thing since the early 90s. And Gonzo never really had a lot of presence on the old Muppet show. The Muppet Show main characters are mostly Kermit, Piggy, and maybe Scooter/Fozzie.
>>153369633They have been trying to bring them back since the mid 90s or so. It just never takes. Muppet show has been brought back a few times now, in 1996, 2002-ish, 2015, and just a couple months ago. It never does very well and gets cancelled in the first year each time. Part of the plot of the 2011 movie was how they were a washed up old thing no one cares about.
>>153369725Wasn't her whole deal early on making fun of the dumb girls that show up in Hollywood and try to sleep their way to the top into stardom? And that was the only reason she was into Kermit, he was a director. Meanwhile she would instantly drop him for anyone remotely more important.
>>153371777Yeah. We're on Kermit #3 now.
>>153372015No. What the fuck are you talking about? Her whole gimmick was treating herself as a galmorous, delicate starlet who was in reality loud, aggressive, and violent.
>>153371777In anon's defense, I've heard stories that Disney drove Jim crazy, too.
>>153369183Wasn’t his introduction kind of uneventful? “Why don’t you she the way I came back to the group?”(They find him sleeping on his front porch) “Hey, want to join us again?” “Okay.” He’s my favorite, but even I found that funny.
>>153376175That's in the 2011 movie, but yeah, that was a great bit.
Weird how Gonzo was kind of the main character of the movies era. Why did they do that?
>>153376192Oh yeah! I like in the beginning on the sequel after the big music number, they look at each other and say, “Now what?”
