Just finished the actual comics, and while it was a fun ride. Is it me or does a lot of the plot make little sense when you think about it?Off the top of my head>Viltrumites are massively underpopulated from the scourge virus that happened HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO but literally none of the viltrumite women seem to get pregnant before moving to earth. Thragg really couldn’t just order the women to have 1 kid every 15 years or something? Also this is probably just a pointless question bur how does viltrumite fertility work? Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have and each time they have a menstrual cycle, they lose some of those eggs until they lose all of them and become completely infertile.Presumably Viltrumites are the same since they’re physically identical to humans, just with enhanced bodies and flight. But wouldn’t this also mean the viltrumite women would be infertile by age 50? It’s all well and good Viltrumites live for thousands of years, the men can still breed until they die. But unless the women make new eggs or something unlike humans then it’s illogic so.My head canon is they are still born with all the eggs they will ever have, but they don’t have periods or lose them via menstrual cycles. And only lose eggs when they get pregnant and that uses one up and maybe a couple others get destroyedDoes anybody have a clue how old anissa is even meant to be? The viltrumite aging thing makes it confusing on how far back the flashbacks in the show are meant to be.Also, I wish they kept Marks eyes as blue. Even if they HAD to racebend him to match the voice actor, just to emphasise how viltrumite DNA basically overwrites other species, hence Oliver gradually stopping being purple. Mark should start off looking like an Asian kid and gradually look more like young nolan, easiest way to show that would be blue eyes. Would be a cool scene with him realising his eyes are changing and not liking it
Also WHY is Thragg so much stronger than any other single vitrumite? Or eben groups at a timeI don’t think they ever address this in the comic (I actually think he was less OP in the comic than in the show from what I recall)But in the snow we just hear he’s “been trained from birth to be the strongest viltrumite ever”Which sounds impressive, except we see Nolan teaching young kids viltrumite shit already, as well as sending them out to survive in the wilderness and telling them that some of them will likely die. So being trained from birth isn’t rare or unique at all.Why did Thragg order his people to reproduce with the humans, but didn’t do it himself? It’s not like he’s unwilling to “lower himself” to breeding with non viltrumites. After all he makes a million bug babies later.Also. Thragg is definitely older than Nolan. MUCH older. Nolan was like 18-20 and about to graduate when the scourge virus hits while Thragg was a grown ass man working as advisor to the emperor. So why does Nolan look so much older than Thragg with his white hair? Finally. How did they eben lose track of the “blood of argali” and fail to find a living heir? How did Nolan’s parents and him not realise he was a potential heir? Being related to the fucking emperor seems like a big deal
just walked into this thread and i have no idea about Invincible. Is the plot of the show really about a bunch of aliens needing to fuck? lol
>>153366102>So why does Nolan look so much older than Thragg with his white hair?Genetics. Thragg aged better.
>>153366102>Finally. How did they eben lose track of the “blood of argali” and fail to find a living heir? How did Nolan’s parents and him not realise he was a potential heir? Being related to the fucking emperor seems like a big dealHeirs were kept anonymous and the purge lasted centuries iirc, the bloodline was lost in the chaos.
>>153366035>and while it was a fun rideYou met Anissa too?
>>153366102Thragg is the viltrumite equivalent of King Bradley from FMA.He basically was genetically engineered as a baby to be a super special soldier since his very birth. And considering how the show actually is exploring how bad viltrumites lives and childhood used to be under the empire, he 100% got a worse childhood than anyone else.Probably one where the “super babies” like him got treated solely as expendable experiments and had the whole group of them getting gradually culled out until just one (thragg) remained alive in the end. This was his sole purpose, his only right of birth, to be the perfect superweapon fitting the “might rule” mentality of the empire.Considering the show had him being alive and directly connected with Argall, i would’t be surprised if the writer will expand him as a character on this specific bit, turning him into the de facto adoptive son of Argall, in a way Thragg knew and felt nothing for anyone else but him (which tragically eould make his death even more devastating in his eyes, alongside the following betrayal of the rightful Heirs more egregious)To sums , it is never directly stated in the comic since it was used as a mere background info just like many things, but the show seems to want to explore and address these things so there is the chance both Nolan’s bloodline and thragg’s past might get a full exploration (especially after the things that changed and added in the last 2 seasons like the famous “i’m so lonely” speech with Conquest and what got added in S4)
>>153366035>Thragg really couldn’t just order the women to have 1 kid every 15 years or something? That would make sense, but eventually they'll eventually run into the problem of most Viltrumites being closely related to the point the kids would all end up inbred. And it would make sense if the survivors of the virus were somewhat closely related to begin with.>Also this is probably just a pointless question bur how does viltrumite fertility work? Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have and each time they have a menstrual cycle, they lose some of those eggs until they lose all of them and become completely infertile.Honestly, it would make the most sense if all the Viltrumite women were completely infertile by the time they came to Earth, but he really wanted a rape-baby storyline. Making it so they produce eggs the same way men produce sperm isn't too crazy out of the question since their race has physics-defying super strength, speed, and flight. If you can accept that, then them not running out of eggs isn't too much of a stretch.>Mark should start off looking like an Asian kid and gradually look more like young nolan, easiest way to show that would be blue eyes. Would be a cool scene with him realising his eyes are changing and not liking itIt is cool and would require the animators to put in a little work, so it's out of the question
>>153366035How horny and lonely for Mark do you think pregnant Anissa was?
>>153366035Mark regrows his teeth, and you're wondering how their women have eggs left after centuries of menstruation. They just make more.
>>153366035fuck, it I will read the comic. In what issue should I start with? Where season 4 ends?
>>153367962Pregnant women don't get horny
>>153368070Some anon has been storytime the full comic for about a week now. Check the archives to catch up on the previous issues.>>153356285
>>153368123so according to AI it is #79
>>153368070>In what issue should I start with?#1.
>>153368157>according to AIGrim. No, start with #1, the comic isn't extraordinarily long and it has some differences from the show. It isn't like a manga adaptation. Don't listen to chatgpt for this shit, it doesn't know anything.
>>153368070>In what issue should I startI would at still at least skim through the earlier issues because the show does jumble up the order and executed a lot of stuff differently. Off the top of my head>Mark doesn't get his ass beat as much early on>Debbie struggles with alcohol after Nolan leaves>William isn't gay at the start and dates Eve for a while>Amber is way nicer, doesn't know Mark is Invincible for some time, and talks it out with him once she figures it out>Robot gets his new body much later>Black Samson's storyline with his suit feels a bit more flesh out
>>153368070Yeah. There aren't any real differences between the comics and the show. The plot of Invincible was being written every week and had retcons literally every other chapter and the writing was... bad to say the least. Just pick up whatever chapter and read from there, you'll be fine. Maybe ask chatgpt where about season 4 is in the comics. Just know that if someone was hinted at in the show then it was probably an active retcon that Cuckmen used to get himself out of a corner.Heads up - without someone changing his stuff Cuckmens comic is one of the worst things ever brought to page. It makes manga look consistent - I literally can not stress how badly done the whole thing is or just gross the fans are. I'd be really careful with who you talk about Invincible with, the fans are really bad people. The scourge virus didn't even exist in chapter one, I'm not really sure when he came up with the idea but it was a great deal later. It'd be nice if someone would ask him but the man is incredibly fat and a well known liar. Tons and tons of other examples. The purge was totally different as well from what I recall, being a civil war. It was also retconned a few times as Cuckmen figured out his weekly plot.
>>153368223>Maybe ask chatgptDo not do this
>>153368230If he's brain damaged enough to read Invincible then he's dumb enough to be an AI bro and nothing you do can stop it.Jokes aside asking AI for help is fine. Literally, just ask it. Or I can ask it and post the results here so I can rape you with AI text.
>>153368166>>153368186Interestingly, it is all on archive.org.I kinda dislike strictness of panel layouts.Maybe it's because I have read so much manga, but Japs are really hate rectangles and make half-panel triangles.
>>153368243>Jokes aside asking AI for help is fine.I've experimented enough with AI enough to know that it really does not know anything, you should not ask it for advice. >Or I can ask it and post the results hereYou will do this anyway, and he probably shouldn't be taking advice on how to properly enjoy Invincible from someone shitting on it.
>>153368280That's fine and all but having him read the worst parts of the story that the show did better is going to just make it even worse. I regret trying out the comic almost as I do watching more then one season of this garbage.Season 1 was a damn fine show and drastically different then current or comic invincible. It's like it was written by someone else, it's pretty nice.
>>153367918Inbred cop out makes no sense. It was only ever a problem on earth because giving birth was dangerous so tossing away kids wasn't always possible. An inbred kid who got "livable" bad mutations wouldn't always get chucked. this is not a problem for viltramites. Second, most problems came from recessive genes so no one understood why it was happening. Viltramites can scan their DNA and see potential problems when pairing up then scan their kids too.
>>153368412Don't assume the remaining Viltrumites are just the survivors of the scourge virus, and not also their offspring.
Viltrumites have been shown to regrow lost teeth and we’ve seen mark recover from having his guts ripped out just with bandages alone. Not that far fetched to assume that the women just produce new eggs indefinitely.
>>153368367>I regret trying out the comichow does one regret reading a comic wtf
>>153368589that's /co/ for you
>>153368461Well that’s another thing. If they’re immortal then the Pre-Scourge Viltrumites can mate with their Post-Scourge Offspring as soon as they’re of age. Just pair off each Post with a Pre that isn’t their parents. Eventually you’ll end up with 4th and 5th removed cousins whose risk of diseases is negligible just like human villages did.
If Thaddeus has the scourge 2.0 virus ready to go, why didn’t they just use it when they went on confront Thagg? If he was worried about Nolan and Mark, then they could have given them protective suits or using not taken them with them to the final confrontation. Just feels a little stupid to not use your super weapon and instead try to fight the big boss and his cronies knowing they not only out number you but out match you.
>>153368764the writers have no fucking idea about how few individuals it takes to have a viable population, the probably read "100" somewhere and assumed that half of that would mean certain extinction.but yeah you could repopulate with 50 as long as you keep track of who should be fucking whom.
>>153368275>Interestingly, it is all on archive.org.It's a western comic, you can literally read every western comic on a website called 'readcomicsonline,' piracy is ridiculously easy
>>153370918quality there is shit from what i recall
>>153366035>Presumably Viltrumites are the same since they’re physically identical to humans, just with enhanced bodies and flight. But wouldn’t this also mean the viltrumite women would be infertile by age 50?There's nothing stopping a long lived alien species made of special atoms and having different DNA structure from being fertile later in life. Anissa herself is over a thousand years old when she gets pregnant IIRC
>>153366035A lot of what happens in invincible makes no fucking sense, but I'm able to suspend my disbelief for whatever reason. I usually can't do that.
>>153366035Viltrumites only need a few DNA samples to mass grow Viltrum embryos. This we must rape other races shit is beyond retarded
>>153368868Viruses don’t magically expand or infect people in the cold void of space. For it to be effective it must be released on a living planet, so it can spread and infect the others.
If he's called Invincible why can I see him
>>153374173If I can vincinible then why see him can in
>>153368123Hes late today, i have to go to sleep without my daily dose of invincible :(
>>153371142>>153366035>Women are born with all the eggs they will ever have and each time they have a menstrual cycle, they lose some of those eggs until they lose all of them and become completely infertile.Sorta. We lose ~1k eggs per cycle. If we were superhumans then maybe those eggs would have a more robust shelf life.>Presumably Viltrumites are the same since they’re physically identical to humans, just with enhanced bodies and flight. But wouldn’t this also mean the viltrumite women would be infertile by age 50? Human women are actually have like 4-7 million eggs when we're fetuses. We got about half a million left stored up at puberty.10 ovulation/menstruations per year x 30ish years fertility = generous overestimate of 300ish eggs that actually get ready to make a human babyWay fewer than the number of proto-eggs you start with. Some eggs that do ovulate are actually duds that fail to even make a blatocyst (IIRC that's the stage where you're basically just a fertilized egg yolk). Can't ovulate when already pregnant; ovulation can also be disrupted by breastfeeding, illness, intense athleticism, stress, etc. Imagine a superhuman's reproductive longevity is as super as the rest of their bodies. Their bodies just keep those bazillion egg follicles alive for millennia, instead of dumping them because they're too expensive for fragile ageing human bodies to maintain. So? 4 million?Or maybe their reproductive cycles are just stretched out more. 1 year instead of 40 daysHuman menarche suddenly happens way younger these days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menarche#Changes_in_time_of_average_age Not hard to believe a female humanoid doesn't first become fertile until the equivalent of human age 20.>>153368074Maybe just in your experience.
>>153366035The comic is a classic example of 'neat subversion of saturated and tired superhero tropes that goes off the wall insane because it has built its whole brand on being subversion, shock and gore'.The whole thing about viltrumites going extinct came completely out of nowhere and was probably done just because the writers realized that they had no way of solving that conflict.
>>153377264korean artist name?
>>153377460>subversion of saturated and tired superhero tropesLike what?>subversion, shock and gore'So like basically most comics published in 2000s
