Aang is whipped and basically his son did 4x more to repopulate the airbenders in like 10 years than Aang did in the 60 after the war. Of course even Tenzin only started in his 40s himself when he should have been pumping cultist sluts full of air babies from the moment of adulthood, but he ultimately found an airbender broodmare so I can't fault his strategy.
