Why is it that despite supposedly better and legendary runs, Daredevil has never managed to become ingrained in society the way Punisher has, even after all his controversies? What makes Punisher more enduring?

>what makes punisher more enduring?
he actually kills people. the ninja shit was stupid as fuck though.

if DD got a power upgrade, like maybe being able to sense magic (not directly deal with it, but sense it), offering a segue for him to guest star in a midnight sons ongoing, it might be beneficial for him

a DD, X-23 and punisher team up going after forced sex trafficking rings and pedo rings would probably be successful right now especially if the stories were written seriously with real life examples and plot points
>>
Well, Daredevil (2003) sucked cock, so the public conscious of Daredevil isn't exactly glowing. meanwhile, The Punisher appeals to those edgy loser kids who grew up and became useless cunty policemen.
>>
>>153368428
>appeals to police
found the shitlib that only deals in political tribalisms
>>
>>153368398
A lot of people who don't read his comics think their idea of him is cool.
>>
>>153368428
found the subhuman who cant seperate his obsession with real life things and see's it in anything. you're brain is broken subhuman.
>>
>>153368436
>>153368716
Uh huh.
>>
>>153368398
People just like the skull logo and idea of killing bad guys

>If Daredevil got a magic sense it would be beneficial

LOL
LMAO even
No it wouldn’t. It would be stupid. Daredevil doesn’t work as a magical character. Ninja mysticism is the extent where it still somewhat works but wanting him fighting supernatural beings on a regular basis is stupid. Blackheart/Mephisto only works when it’s thematically tied to Matt’s religious background and Matt’s just a dude dealing with the devil
>>
>>153368398
>Punisher
>Man with gun kills bad guys.
>Daredevil
>Blind man with the super power of seeing is trained by a ninja to fight supervillains and a rival ninja clan by night and run a prestigious law firm by day. Also he has a no kill rule.

Geez, I wonder why one of these characters is easier for audiences to understand.

I think the bigger issue is that Daredevil is 'just another superhero.' He falls into the same kind of tropes and logic as any other B-lister, like Nova or She-Hulk. He's a face in a crowd of hundreds.
Punisher, at least, has some edge to him. A little bit of grit in the public perception. Punisher's not just another superhero, he doesn't have a rogue's gallery, he doesn't get caught up in comics bullshit (even if he...does,) he's 'man with gun.'

>he's just like me
>>
>>153368398
>What makes Punisher more enduring?
he did things by the book, he always read criminals their rights
>>
>>153368398
Because Frank is just a dude with guns that goes up against genuinely awful people
>>
>>153368398
In a way Daredevil is a more honest character than the Punisher. If Matt was more realistic he'd be just a regular blind guy. If Frank was more realistic he'd be getting tricked by inflammatory AI slop videos of violent crime and court room footage in his Facebook feed.
>>
many police officers love Punisher. Is part of Cop culture.
>>
>>153368398
He's got a cool logo. He's a down to earth concept of a Vet losing everything and shooting bad guys.
He's catnip for the III%ers.
>>
>>153368800
>hurr durr DD doesn't work as a mystical character
>marvel make punisher a ninja for no fucking reason

>anon, not OP, literally just sense magic, not directly fight it
you're strawmanning

>matt's religious background
yeah and the marvel universe has had nightcrawler go directly to heaven. there are multiple villains and heroes who have had the powers of hell, including ghost rider. you're just being incredulous and stupid by taking a suggestion that was conditional and then making it a wild slipper slope. shut the fuck up
>>

bro if nazis take rainbows all the gays should like, totally just give up rainbows, for real for real bro no cap
>>
>>153372081
Jesse, what the fuck are you talking about.
>>
>>153368398
Punisher has had better comics more recently. Though Marvel and Jason Aaron have tried hard to tarnish The Punisher's image, they weren't able to undo Ennis' MAX run and related miniseries.
>>
>>153372123
>some people co-opted some shit, so we should just give it up

i hope squatters show up in your home. you'll just give it up, right?
>>
>>153372220
>so we should just give it up

I never said that. We are talking about popularity. Why Punisher is more popular than Daredevil. One of the reason is that Cop Culture integrated Punisher imagery. And is a global thing, not limited to the US.
>>
>>153372431
>integrated punisher imagery

no the fuck they didn't. fascists always loved death cult shit, the nazi SS has death's head in their logos too

fuck liberals and their pearl clutching. if marvel was concerned with it, they could literally write punisher going after corrupt cops. instead they're cowards, because liberals aren't concerned with real things, just optics

>global
>pic is canada
that's not "global" holy shit exaggerate much?
>>
>>153368398
>What makes Punisher more enduring?
Simplicity of origin and relatability by the common man.
>Vietnam vet in 1974
>return from America's most unpopular war
>family gunned down
>uses his skills to get revenge on crime
It's an incredibly universal fantasy. This is why stuff like Death Wish and The Boondock Saints have fans.
>>
>>153369191
Matt would let black offenders out even after they knifed a White girl.
>>
>>153368969
She-Hulk sleeps with Sweetish underwear models and Spider-Man delivers pies. Frank is the only one making a real difference.
>>
>>153373291
That'd be decided by a judge, Matt is a defense attorney.
>>
>>153373622
I know...
Hey would Frank go after a Judge?
>>
>>153373653
not without looking at the judge's record. the judge would have to be incredibly corrupt but yes if he was corrupt i bet frank would
>>
>>153368398
Simpler concept and good logo. You can explain Punisher in like 3 words, he kills criminals. Immediately separates him from 90% of other heroes. It's a basic and extremely common power fantasy, especially on the Right in the US. He embodies our countries most base fascist fantasies. And again, all time great logo.

Frank has Conviction.
Matt has Faith.
One gets the job done.
>>
>>153368398
Punisher is THE comicbook anti-hero. He appeals to our most base instincts to kill what we hate. There are times you root for Frank to take out the trash and other times he disturbs you more than the shitbags he kills.
>>
>>153368398
Daredevil is both too corny and not corny enough for normaltards
