>>153389513I read somewhere years ago that her rights are owned by the state. There's been two official but incomplete books. One's called Fondorlatos Jucika, a collection of short poems written for 50 strips. Some of the poems name the incidental side characters and give dialogue to Jucika. This book was made in 1970 but it got cancelled after the artist's death and only came out in 2009. It was released by the Püski publisher but the copyright info in the book only credits the artist and the poet.The more recent strip collection from 2022 is published by kilencedik.hu but it only contains the early black and white strips from 1957 and '58. It was re-released this year bilingually but there's been no news of a second part.The 57-58 and 59-70 strips were published by two different magazines, Érdekes Újság and Ludas Matyi, both of which ended decades ago. I don't know if this means the two Jucika eras have different owners or if all the Jucika strips are under the same ownership. I don't think the publisher explained why they haven't reprinted the later strips, though maybe I didn't look hard enough.I also read that some of the Ludas magazine's former workers tried to reprint all the strips a few years before the 2022 booklet but they didn't have any good quality copies of the magazine. They reached out to a magazine collector who collected most of the Jucika strips but he refused to help them out.
