Do Millennials & Zoomers know how degenerate comics got or do they turn a blind eye to them? I consider the whole era apocrypha that marred the characters forever.

From the decades before then, the only things that are really treated as mattering are the origin stories and certain other big moments where someone died or turned heel.It started as a new editorial regime marking it's territory and telling the audience to disregard the old and largely out of print stories, what's happening right now is what matters, but over time, the big 2000s stories and events are STILL treated as important things that still matter in a way that older storylines and even more recent ones just aren't. There aren't really many event stories from the 2010s or even so far in the 2020s where there's much about them that's still important and relevant a year or two later, while things like Civil War or House of M still keep getting brought up and treated like they were the most important things to ever happen.

The sad part is, I question how much of this is actually beloved. Like you can look at the pre 2000s era and find countless iconic and beloved stories. The best I can say for the 2000s is that there stories that are infamous because their effects are still being recovered from. But do comic fans really still love Disassembled this many years later? Do people still think about Civil War with fondness? I know people like Annihilation so there's that but what else really is there.
>>153380850People love Ultimate Spider-man, there are real shooters for that one no doubt. I'm trying to think of books I even liked. I liked X-Statix, New X-men, Astonishing X-men was alright. JMS Spider-man was good but I think that's mostly nostalgia talking. Waid's FF was good, the cosmic stories as you mention. Punisher Max, Black Panther by Priest I think was from this time. Spider-man's tangled web was a good series. I guess people liked Daredevil in this decade but I really barely even remember it, same for Alias. I didn't follow DC closely and no one seems to talk about them from this time but Brubaker on Catwoman, New Frontier, Solo, Batman year 100, Morrison Batman, All Star Superman, all good to great. I think the worst thing for both companies seems to be the horrifically bad events that constantly happened. I can at least think of a lot of great non-DC/marvel comics.
