Why don't zoomers like Batman the way that millennials, boomers and gen X do? I tried to teach my middle school class about Batman and they couldn't care less.
>>153379883The animated series? Or the character?
>>153379883>live action movies only aimed at older audiences >no new batman cartoon for kids >robin is a joke thanks to TTG >harley quinn is ruined as a character
>>153379973Also Joker is ruined thanks to that 2019 melodrama and its sequel.
>>153379997Joker was elevated by the 2019 movie, the sequel, on the other hand, effectively killed the goodwill.
>>153379997The first movie fixed the damaged damage, but the second movie torpedoed it.
The last decently kid oriented thing about Batman was Lego Batman 10+ years ago. There's not really been a cartoon on the level of BTAS aimed at kids since really BTAS. We can love BATB, but it doesn't make Batman as cool as BTAS does. The movies stopped being something kids would watch and have been aimed at teens and adults for 20 years now.The hype machine that was the one two punch of the 89 movie through Forever, BTAS, and the comics boom, is long gone and never replicated.
>>153379883Late zoomers, anon. Unless one finds out batman media by themselves or took a liking through their parents the only media featuring Batman that's aimed at them was Justice League Action.
>>153380148>The last decently kid oriented thing about Batman was Lego Batman 10+ years agoNope. BatFam exists.
>>153380176Again, Bat-Senpai exists.
>>153379883>rich white man beats up the mentally illThat's heckin ableist
>>153380148Hopefully the upcoming Lego Batman game is good and cultivates some interest in the next generation.
>>153380220Nice b8
>>153379883stop using faggy terms for generations, for starters.
>>153379883>I tried to teach my middle school class about BatmanHow can I gt your teaching certification revoked?
>>153380189Do you think Batfam makes Batman cool to kids?It feels like a show made by out of touch adults.
>>153380220This, show them comics where Batman investigates violence against lgbt people since it's a more relatable topic to them
>>153379883I've seen multiple instances of Zoomers posting how confused they were by the show not having any kind of overarching storyline. Like the idea of a syndicated TV show that had episodic stories not intended to be watched in any specific order or binged in a marathon was genuinely confusing to themThey genuinely watch the first few episodes then get confused by the nature of episodic storytelling and ask which episodes are 'filler' that they should skip to get to the plot. No, I'm not making this up. With zoomers it's impossible to distinguish trolling from being retarded.
Because Superman is nice and his movies are better
>>153380642Ironically enough, contrary of what the executives think, children and teenagers prefer long term storylines. My sister is the same with Ladybug, she enjoys the long plot, but she is confused by the episode order.
>>153380401If that's what it takes i think they're better not caring about batman.
>>153380642>ask which episodes are 'filler' that they should skip to get to the plot.>what? I have to watch every episode instead of lazily pay attention while I text on my phone?
>>153380642How hard is it to just say 'there is no longrunning story' or 'every story is self contained'?
>>153380789They're ruined. They can only watch a 15 minute story dragged out over three seasons and cancelled without a proper ending.
>>153380689It's not about what they prefer. Long form storytelling wasn't nearly as common as episodic and it only became the default in the West when streaming services like Netflix made it so watching every episode in order was easy. Before that syndication (the reason season 1 of TAS was 65 episodes long) was pretty much the default, because long running shows needed to have some kind of regular recap or return to a status quo since missing episodes was always a possibility. Growing an audience over time is difficult if they miss the first dozen episodes and have no idea what's going on and have no way of catching up.>>153380789You tell them that and they get confused because everything is like that now.>>153380836They need everything to end with some kind of cliffhanger to bait them into coming back. Any sense of closure and they'll stop watching.
>>153380852Younger generations were familiar with it thanks for anime.
>>153379883it can't compete with other entertainment. Batman is still a kinda neat concept but there's no real package of it that's appealing to the modern audience
>>153379883Something something boomer uncslop
>>153379883batmania isn't as big as it used to be, let's be real
>>153379883zoomers, more than all previous generations, suffer from recency bias. social media and devices are giving them literal brain rot. brain has been proven to exist, there are scholarly articles about it>>153380642they never had to deal with the problem of only being able to catch an episode of something at a specific time or miss it. they've always had streaming and don't have to worry about missing an important episode. tv shows didn't do overarching storylines as often because that would make people give up when they missed too many episodes
>>153382623*brain rot has been proven*
>>153382623I would love to see a world where smart phones and smart TVs are outlawed.
>>153379883I still remember brave and bold animated dont worry
>>153379883Probably because by now Batman has endured a lot of criticism as a character. I really started to notice a subsection of people hating Batman after the release of the movie Under the Red Hood which exposes Baman's hideous incompetence when dealing with criminals. Many hardcore Batman fanboys like Batman for not killing when most normal audiences are okay with the hero killing this is why the most mainstream popular Batman media are the Tim Burton movies and the Nolan ones where Batman at least won't stop a criminal from being offed. But digression aside by now Batman's reputation as an enabler of crime has spread and people see him as a rather lame character. Things like Under the Red Hood or the game Arkham City where Batman says to Joker he would save his life despite being a serial killer has honestly hurt Batman's image.Lets face reality so long as editorial insists that Batman must never kill no matter what he will be seen as lame. And it really doesn't help that in modern day younger gens are introduced to anime which has less restrictions with its heroes killing so the idea of going back to western media feels like going back to a censored medium and that is a trash deal. So Batman's popularity naturally will decrease in the coming years.
>>153379883is batman even a relevant character anymore? violent organized crime like the mob that batman usually fought barely exists anymore like it did in the 20s. we dont have any use for the caped crusader. unless batman will beat up homeless people in gotham
>>153380374My son liked it. So yes?
>>153379883>Why don't zoomers like Batman the way that millennials, boomers and gen X doBatman cartoons have been largely shit for the past 20 years, there's nothing aimed at zoomers featuring Batman that zoomers should care about.
>>153383949Cartoons in general have been shit for the past 20 years, though.
>>153383949>>153383980The Batman was good
>>153379883The only batman series i liked was The Batman
>>153383315I don't think they'll actually like a full-on attack dog protagonist either. One target that doesn't quite hit right and the whole brand goes in the dumpster.
>>153379883Zoomer here, other superheroes are more interesting than batman, most of my friends like joker more than batman
>>153384092it's always forgotten. it's no btas but it was far from bad.
>>153379883It also doesn't help that zomers have been brainwashed by a left-wing media and educational establishment that has taught them to hate and resent wealth. Bruce Wayne's status as a rich business magnate with an aristocratic sense of responsibility for Gotham isn't tolerated by modern indoctrinated youth.
>>153384168Absolute batman shouldve been black change my mind
If DC was smart they'd fund an episodic batman 'anime' and chuck it on netflix. they sort of did that with my adventures with superman but that show suffered from being boring as fuck.
>>153384168then why do they like ironman?
>>153384092While I disagree, it's the zoomers you have to convince. And since they didn't give a shit about it when they were kids, well...
>>153384189They don't much like him either. Did you notice in the Iron Man 3 movie that Tony Stark kept referring to himself as a "mechanic", the script bestowing on him working-class social cred even though he's also a wealthy industrialist?
>>153380642>I've seen multiple instancesFeel free to post or link to some because I havent heard anyone talking about this show outside of the internet for decades now.
>>153379883>Batman? You mean that guy from Fortnite?
zoomers in general don't care about cartoons. There are zoomers/alphas that don't even know what a "cartoon" is.
>>153382687the algorithm is the real issue.
>>153384160I have to agree, the batman was pretty good.
>>153384386that's probably the same reason why they cast RDJ as doom.
>>153384168>Hating rich people for fucking them over is leftist brainwashingSure, right. Also>another thread bitching and moaning about Gen Z
>>153382623>they never had to deal with the problem of only being able to catch an episode of something at a specific time or miss it.That’s not true. A lot of Gen Z still grew up with Saturday morning cartoons, so the idea of having to watch something at a specific time or miss it entirely was definitely part of their experience. Even 24/7 channels like Disney Channel or Cartoon Network had one-time events, like when Disney Channel aired a “spot the differences” version of an episode of Phineas and Ferb. Even with on-demand, DVR, and YouTube becoming more common at the time, there was still a good chance that if you missed something, you just missed it. That said, this probably applies more to early Gen Z than to mid- or late-Gen Z, who had much easier access to fully on-demand viewing.
>>153379883The only Batman Zoomers cared about was the Rocksteady Arkham games.
>>153380735Why because batman can't solve crimes with people in silly dress ups?
>>153384914Because anon is mentally ill retard that seethes about people he hates being treated as people instead of scapegoats for every problem in his life.
>>153379883There's zero kids media for Batman as a side effect of there being zero kids media. Kids watch a Batman toddler cartoon and play with Batman toys, hit age 4 and suddenly there's literally nothing as they constantly ask their parents why they can't watch South Park and Rick and Morty. By the time they've hit 12 Batman simply isn't on their radar outside of a vague "he's an old superhero, like Spiderman" as they've spent their childhoods on YouTube instead of watching cartoons
