I had the most autistic and retarded idea ever
With so many animated movie who try to innovate in animation techniques
How crazy would it to pitch a full Pixelart animated movie without being a eyesore?
Would be the production logistics possible?
Normies would be interested?
How many animators souls gonna sell to moloch to make this possible?
What pixel art style would you choose?
And what plot you anons want to put in this? my life is like a videogame

this game sucked

Depends on the resolution. Low-resolution characters are easier to animate, but you can't give them smooth movements too often or it'll look weird. Image for example, see how Toriel (the one on the right) is kinda smooth when she stomps her feet, and then gets very smooth for a half-second when she throws her wine glass, and then goes back to very simple animation. If she moved at full smoothness the whole time it'd be kinda hard to tell what she was doing.
Higher resolution characters would lend themselves to consistently smooth animation, but would be way more expensive to animate since they're so detailed.
>Would be the production logistics possible?
Being able to reuse frames and leave characters stationary more often would probably let you cut a lot of corners, it's what Family Guy has been doing for years.
>Normies would be interested?
not in the slightest

Terrible, horrible, absolutely shit idea. Have some relevant music videos, one wholesome, the other not: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPlQpGeTbIE

I dunno, maybe try starting off with a TV show in that style, to test the waters...

I've had this thought too. It would certainly be an interesting experiment.
It may be one of those things that seems unworkable but is actually only almost unworkable, but there's some trick to get it working.

If nothing else... more short films might be good

The real trick to good pixel art is to start with good 3D art and just render it at a low resolution with no anti-aliasing.

>Would be the production logistics be possible?
It is possible depending on the art style. Pixel art can be hand-drawn at first, but the conversion process can be tricky. For instance, the King of Fighters XIII opted to draw pixel art in HD, but the process took years to make.

>Normies would be interested?
I doubt they would be interested by the pixel art alone. Retro-inspired games like Deltarune are quite popular, but fan works don't adhere to the game's graphics.
>How many animators souls gonna sell to moloch to make this possible?
There are dedicated artists who adhere to the limits of pixel art (a.k.a. "dot artists"), and retro gaming is still popular, so finding artists won't be too difficult. Even regular artists can contribute, as long as there are other artists that can convert their art to pixels.
>What pixel art style would you choose
For budgetary and logistic reasons I would make a hypothetical movie in 8-bit. A movie in 16 bits or 32 bits would be possible, but I think normies would start thinking the movie wouldn't need to be in pixel art if the quality's too high.
When I think of a pixel art movie, my mind jumps to Ninja Gaiden. It's already animated like a motion comic.

I actually want to see Metal Slug style pixel art, but even for a hypothetical that's impossible.

TV shows yes, movie no. People won't pay to watch a movie that looks like a 90s video game. They want beautiful scale sets and smooth animation. Normies complain if it's otherwise.

>TV shows yes, movie no.
Now I'm thinking whether the movie's resolution *could* work in theaters. Television shouldn't be a problem.
Anyways Ninja Gaiden 2.
