Every mcu adaptation tries to be different than the previous non mcu movie, so basically this becomes one of the mainstays of the franchise being race swapped or altered to be unrecognizable. So with FF their approach was dont subvert it just try actually portraying it relatively faithful to the original tone kinda like how the Incredibles is in a faux sorta 60s but not really the 60s. Mr Fantastic is hispanic but I guess thats ok most people accept it, other than that theyre mostly how they should be. You cant make one of the four black because the last movie did that, human torch was black. So that leaves the villain characters, but they want to do galactus who cannot be gender swapped or made black it would be too weird for a already weird character that theyre nostalgiawanking by using. So that leaves Silver Surfer, cus now it seperates them from the Fox version of Surfer who looked visually 1:1. Im not defending it this is just how corporate type people think.
