Today it's issue 11 wherein Gwen meets Wesley Snipes.Previous >>153360922
Low quality fill-in art. I complain about how a lot of Marvel and DC books are drawn nowadays but it could be even worse in the mid/late 2010s, especially on a lower tier book like this.
What a twist! An otherwise decent issue tainted by dog shit art and unfortunately this will not be the last time we see Haynes. But next time Gurihiru are back and Gwen LARPs.
>>153389416>Upstate New YorkMaybe she can get some steamed hams while she's here
>>153389416>Gwen arguing her religious rights to carry all her holy symbols/weapons>Admitting she also sneaked on guns to the trainOne of my favorite bits in these comics, kek
>>153389658I do not have so much issue with the Haynes art. It ain't Gurihiru but it ain't Unbeatable Squirrel Girl either. I know that's a low fucking bar to compare it too but it still looks cute and expressive at times.
>>153389447now that's a "We don't hire night janitors" ass sign
>>153389383Nice how Ronnie is still trying to bolster Gwen up after MODOK falling apart hit her so hard. Complimenting her on a job well done/doing better, taking notice she's sad and still trying to warn her when she thinks she's over her head. Best work mom.>>153389566Among the heroes Gwen meets in Unbelievable, I particularly like them going with Blade. At the time of this run I think he'd be an underrated choice, there was no news of a new movie or anything out at the time and considering a lot of the others she meets are ANAD characters going with an established, less popular but very cool character like Blade was nice. Also this is probably the first interaction with another hero she's had where they actually kind of like Gwen at the end, that's progress. >>153389658Always kek at this ending. Thanks for story time OPI like this as a standalone filler issue between two bigger arcs, a low stakes (heh) mission is a good breather at this point. I think it's one of the funnier issues, has a lot of comments from Gwen that make me chuckle in regards to the situation and I especially like this mission ends with her actually managing to resolve things amicably, until she was given no options to by the twist. That's definitely something Gwen wouldn't have been able to do towards the beginning of her story. You can feel the fallout from last arc still troubling her, liked her thinking of Cecil in particular, and I look forward to her getting back with her MODOK pals soon.
>>153389658Honestly, the art isn't as bad as I remember it being. It's still not good though.
>>153391611Nah, Blade is like the 1a example of Marvel trying to push a character due to movies but it never actually working. People liked the Blade movies because they were dumb stylish action. Comics Blade is just kind of boring which is why he can't carry an ongoing or even a mini.
>>153391919Ah, fair enough. But still feels like a neat niche choice to go for, they could have gone with someone they were actively pushing at the time again
>>153389595There's something ironic I think about Gwen defending a bunch of undead freaks' rights to just act / be "normal" after last issue
Bumping to spite RLM faggot
