Daredevil might be the most boring, predictable marvel book of all time. It's like, if you've read one DD story, you've basically read them all (almost). Sure, Frank Miller's run was okay, but that's probably it. And don't get me started on DD rogue gallery - outside of bullseye, there aren't really many iconic ones (Kingpin started as Spidey's foe)
>>153391061The big problem with Daredevil is that nearly every writer just wants to make their own Born Again, their own big Fisk story, etc. That problem even ended up affecting the MCU version, funnily enough.
>>153391061DD book stagnated because everyone wants to be fucking Frank Miller. Jester, Owl, Gladiator, Leapfrog, and Stilt-Man never really kept up. I mean sure some of them are Shocker tier, but people still love Herman. Purple Man gets pawned off to Jessica Jones, and Kingpin is passed around to nearly NY hero. I don't blame Spider-Man books leaning more into Tombstone as a result, but at least Peter's rogues have variety. Most Matt books in recent memory are just self-pity driven stories where Matt reflects on being a shitty Catholic while also banging anything that moves. And while Bullseye is one of Murdock's only decent bad guys, we're sick of seeing him too
The Dennis O'Neil and Anne Nocenti runs are enjoyable.. The former is just inferior Miller-era rehash though that's still pretty good and the Nocenti stuff goes completely the other way and is coked out '80s insanity but it's all fun
>>153391061Just stop at DD 300
>>153393320Herman :(
>>153393320Killing Ikari off was a mistake. He had a good design and actual potential
>>153391061Yeah it “having nothing but good runs” is a marketing meme. Bendis, soule and zdarsky all sucked. Waid wasnt as bad as them and was at least different than miller but not amazing or anything.
>>153391061Okay.
