why do artists post on twitter and not tag their stuff.
>>
>>153391893
Because we hate you.
>>
>>153391893
why does everyone draw damian with poop skin now
>>
>>153391893
Twitter is not an art site, it's a social media, there are no "tags" unless the artist is going to add a bunch of hashtags to their posts.
Twitter was simply not made for art, it's a social made and users were meant to upload photos, not drawings.
>>
>>153392011
everyone posts their art there, though, especially DC art. I wish they would just post it on Pixiv.

>>153391915
seems like it.
>>
>>153391964
because 4 robins that all look basically the same except for hairstyles gets boring.
>>
twitter isn't an art site, also twitter users seem to hate proper tagging and actual sources because it's always idiot reposters getting the engagement and not the artists. Case in point:

God I miss tumblr for art. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than Xitter, which is just fishing in the void, hoping you'll find something, and usually just finding The Worst People Alive..
>>
>>153391893
Barbara?
>>
>>153392517
not relevant enough
>>
>>153391893
Bruce is 23?
>>
>>153392011
If an artist only uses Twitter, reuploading their stuff elsewhere, with or without their permission, is an act of a selfless hero.
>>
>>153393346
i think bruce was like 28 when he took in dick.
>>
>>153392495
I really don't miss tumblr even if there is no better alternative to it yet. I'd rather have no art than deal with unhinged mental illness.
>>
>>153391893
Some artists who aren't that big to begin with don't want to be find by casual fans and retards. The DC and Battman fandom are horseshit like that.
>>
>>153393894
the whole point of posting art online is to get attention and likes. your reasoning makes no sense.
>>
>>153392495
There is still tons of art on tumblr, SFW. NSFW is just linked offsite. You can click on a link.
>>
>>153392175
Pixiv is for Japanese people, I as a filthy gaijin don't want to pollute their space with my gaijinness.
>>
>>153391964
>>153392320
Is Damian still the result of rape, or has DC changed that detail?
>>
>>153393690
Bruce and Dick didn't have a big age gap which is why Dick referred to Bruce as a his big brother back then.
>>
>>153394890
You're a casual and a faggot.
The big brother retcon was introduced in the late 60s in an effort to make Bruce seem younger and more relatable. It lasted less than a decade.
>>
>>153394175
plenty of foreigners post on it.
>>
>>153395225
Bruce being a father to Dick wasn't really a consistent thing even in the golden age because a rich single playboy taking a kid under his wing was exactly a normal thing which is one of the reasons why these two get accused of being homos. Bruce isn't really much older than Dick since he took too soon after he became Batman.
>>
>>153393807
>he said, implying that we no longer have to deal with that brand of unhinged mental illness
>>
>>153395225
Also post-zero hour when DC tried to compress the entire timeline down to 10 years.
And the nu52 when DC tried to compress the entire timeline down to 5 years.

Neither lasted longer than a couple years. It always circles back to the original concept.
>>
>>153394136
I have not stumbled upon NSFW fan art, but I have found porn. Some users are dedicated to Asian men, take pic related for example, said user posts a lot of Japanese baseball players.

Pinterest, on the other hand, has tons of character sheets.

He's Sino-Arabic. Or is Ra's the Caveman immortal? I get them confused.

it was pretty well established.
>>
>>153394282
i'm pretty sure it got retconned. tomasi did some smoothing over if i recall.
>>
>>153392175
>everyone posts their art there, though
That's because, as a social media site, Twitter is a great way to share your art.
It gets compressed and it's later hard to find it, but you can have a lot of people see your work if you get the right people to retweet your stuff.
>>
>>153391893
Tags are useless on xwitter, their search engine is abysmal dogshit

Also this:>>153391915

Thats barely a tan
>>
i know talia is arab/chinese. is she from the levant or saudai arabia area?
>>
>>153395388
I knew that you are going to use this and I'm quite well aware of it which is why I said it wasn't a consistent thing not that it was never a thing. Besides, the point that Bruce and Dick can't have a big age gap between them because it is well established that Bruce had a Robin just a year or two after becoming Batman.
>>
>>153395462
artists have massive egos. why would they want to be difficult to find.
>>
>>153395310
I don't get why Dick fans want them to be a father and son because it actually made their relationship quite cringy. Dick seeing Bruce as an older brother who was also kinda a father figure to him when he was a kid put them more in equal ground and makes their relationship more interesting.
>>
>>153396040
The Tumblrifiction of Batfamily pretty much ruined any chance of interesting dynamics between the bat characters.
>>
>>153391893
Artists based in twitter deserve ruin, fuck you for making me dig through a billion reaction gifs and shitty political retweets to find your drawings
>>
>>153391893
The twitter tagging system is absolute dogshit. They really should just go back to tumblr, which astonishingly somehow still works.
>>
>>153396620
i still check tumblr for fanart but i am convinced that some of these purposely draw characters as hideous as possible. i don't understand why, though.
>>
>>153391893
This artist draws shotacon, dont they?
>>
>>153391893
The ages all over the place. Dick and Jason were 12, Tim was 13 and Damian was 10.
>>
>>153391893
tags are gay, i prefer finding an artist here then following them that way

Since we're already bickering over Batman characters ages and timelines, I might as well ask here:

The first depiction of the Waynes getting shot said it happened 15 years ago, published late 1939 in Detective Comics #33. It's never outright stated when the current date is supposed to be, so it's late 1924.

The movie they saw was probably never said until years later, but The Mark of Zorro came out in November 1920, which would not have still been in theaters 4 years later.

I haven't seen any early comic that mentions how old Batman is or how old he was as a kid, but he's more often said to have been 8 or 10 years old, which would make him 25 at most in the first year of the comics.

>>153392517
>Barbara?
Oddly enough, her first appearance in 1967 said she graduated with a ph.D, which would have put her at about 30 years old. And only a few years later Dick would go off to college.
>>
>>153401106
I think Miller was the first to say the movie was Zorro, as a tip of the hat to the characters inspiration. Before then it doesn’t seem the idea was given much thought, in the Super Friends episode around the same time the movie is Robin Hood, which I hear was another movie the fandom of the time used to consider to be the one he saw at some point. The Douglas Fairbanks 1922 version would’ve fit the original timeline, if you use that, though I don’t think Kane or Finger considered the importance of the movie itself at the time.
>>
>>153391893
How come 4.11 is bigger than 4.90, fuck those american units man.
>>
>>153401220
Stupid me, I forgot to actually ask the question. My point was that The Mark of Zorro doesn't line up with the movie, and his age was never given, so I can't quite figure out when he was born.

>>153401295
That's 4 feet, 11 inches and 4 feet, 9 inches, or 59 inches tall and 57 inches tall respectively. It's not a decimal point, it's an apostrophe. It's really not that complicated.
>>
>>153394069
For (you) maybe. For actual fanartists, the main thing and concern is to create what you'd like to see in the fandom and not attract terminals retards. Shippers and Nip artists sometime make there own "tags" and look at their followers bios to avoid/block antis or Amerimutts. It limits their exposure but not in a way that make them impossible to be find. Basically >>153391915 fpbp
>>
>>153391893
Because people don't really search for things anymore. Both producers and consumers leave everything to the mercy of the algorithm. Or only want their friend group to see.
>>
>>153391893
>Damian older than Dick
Have we been through so many retcons this is real now?
>>153392011
Think he meant "tag" as in "watermark", the image he posted is not watermarked/signed
>>
>>153393807
My dude, the unhinged mental illness on 2026 Xitter makes 2010s tumblr look like a pleasant walk in the park.
>>
>>153401502
No, tag means category tag like trying to find art of batfamily in particular would mean it was tagged with #batfamily. It makes it easier to search for fanart
>>
>>153391964
being the offspring of a white guy and arab woman means your skin is way darker than either of your parents, duh!
>>
>>153401472
>Because people don't really search for things anymore. Both producers and consumers leave everything to the mercy of the algorithm
There's no other viable option. There is no western equivalent of something like Pixiv anymore. DeviantArt was the closest thing and it's on its way out because the Israeli giganiggers who bought it decimated it.
>>
>>153401552
I don't go there either.
>>153401826
> batfamfags actively render tags useless by tagging every characters they can think of into their posts

She and her dad are the products of orientalism. But you can't signal virtue or not feel like the biggest racist in the room with that, so she is *check notes* not white.

>>
>>153401361

>I can't quite figure out
You are spending far more time and energy than most batwank writers spend on batcrap for no good reason.
>>
>>153402133
Well adding more tags to a post already containing the subject doesnt do any harm. The real problem OP is facing is that theres no way to even find fanart through searching anymore. Good ones at least since no artist uses twitter’s tagging system because it straight up doesnt work
>>
>>153392011
>there are no "tags"
>except for the tags, but those don't count because... THEY JUST DON'T, OKAY?
>>
>>153406074
>already containing the subject
Often not the case or not enough to warrant using the tag/for the algo to display it in the tag.
>being an attention whore doesnt do any harm
It does.
> clout tags with bullshit
> expose you to shits you don't want or care for
If the tag system doesn't work for/work against artists they won't use your tag system.
>>
>>153391893
While I appreciate the artist keeping Dick generic white like the others, Damian should just look the same, say he takes after Bruce, looking generic helps with the secret identities

Damian should be acceptably brown only in a world where Bruce is openly Batman like Tony Stark/Iron Man etc, so no need or way to hide the Robin identities too
>>
>>153394136
It's not the same. There used to be well-tagged thriving art communities about damn near anything. You wanted to see fanart of two characters from a novel fucking? You went to tumblr. If you waned to see fanart of podcast characters fucking you went to tumblr. You could even find non-fucking fanart! We've lost that, honestly. Damn shame.
Fuck Apple.
>>
>>153407586
>clout tags with bullshit
Oh yeah that's a fair point. I forgot people just add a bunch of unrelated tags to get more engagement. What I was describing before was adding more tag descriptors such as including every character shown in the image. This is more detrimental on twitter than it is on tumblr because all the tags count towards the character count and also make the post look bloated. The one thing tumblr does right is keep those hidden at the footer of the post instead of being part of the main content.
>>
>>153406321
Well, they don't. Because people don't use them.
And part of why they don't use them is because the search is dogshit. Absolute dogshit.
With tumblr if you know a person's blog you can search for their use of tags on their blog.
Tumblr: "I know RobinFucker9000 had a badass picture of Alfred posted two years ago. I'll go to his blog and search his 'Alfred' tag, and... hey, there it is! Huh, it's not as good as I remember."
Twitter: "I know Musksucker1 had a picture of Cyberfrog a couple years ago. Maybe if I search... hm, no. Well maybe if I use google but narrow the search to look at just that guy's account... no. Well, maybe I can just scroll back enough? Shit, I can't, he posts about random crap so often you can't scroll that far back. Welp, it's gone now."

Both sites are bad, but for having a "gallery" of art people can look at they're in totally different leagues.
