It was originally going to be all CG, then that was dropped because the animated humans weren't considered high quality enough (being like 1983). So it switched to 2D animation on CGI backgrounds, but then one producer sued for not using fully CGI and another sued for low quality 2D animation. It also turned out that the original producer never had the rights to the Beatles masters, so midway they decided to try and use covers instead.It was 1992 when the project finally died.
