Yes I'm aware that it's a South Korean creation with and yes I'm aware that the show incorporates Japanese and Korean cultural influences but they are so minor compared to the amount of Chinese influence. Pucca has a Chinese hairstyle, she works in a Chinese not Korean restaurant, all of her friends look Chinese. The food she serves is Chinese although inspired by Korean dish it's Chinese style. Her uncle is literally called uncle dumpling. The show doesn't even have any Korean characters or anything that is culturally Korean besides a few minor things like names. The only Japanese characters in the show are ninjas and that's it, everyone else is Chinese including Pucca in my opinion. What do you guys think? Any Asians here please give me your thoughts on this.
>>153402437I'm going to turn you into chajang noodles.
>>153402437Yeah my first impression was very chinese, but the animation was to good
>>153402478The character was created to appeal to an international audience. Because this was the mid 00's Korean culture wasn't mainstream in the west yet but Chinese and Japanese were so maybe that's why they decided to have a Chinese girl who works in a Chinese restaurant chasing after a Japanese ninja.
>>153402525Yeah it makes sense because at that time these stereotypical depictions of Asian culture is known all over the world. People outside Asia know about Chinese and Japanese culture, the people the food the way they dress, Korean cultural wasn't mainstream yet back in the early to mid 2000's so that's why I feel like there's little Korean influence in the show.
>>153402535This is going to be you.
>>153402437Thought Pucca was a cute?
>>153402437Is this one of the only examples of Asians depicting themselves with slanty eyes?
>>153402437How do we not know she's from that one Chinese province? You know Yanbian? They have a lot of ethnic Koreans there and they've adopted a lot of Chinese culture, they're also the only Koreans who still eat dogs (gross).
>>153402535that reminds me something similar, don't the Mucha Lucha creators are irish or something like that?
well, it's basically a reproduction of chinese-themed japanese shit
>>153402437Pucca and Garu represent Korea.Tobe, the dark-skinned ninja obsessed with Pucca represents Japan.Ching and Abyo, Pucca's closest friends, represent China.
>>153406157>Tobe, the dark-skinned ninjaHis skin is a bit purple, Uncle Dumpling is dark-skinned
>>153406187He has darker skin than Pucca, Garu or Ching, which follows the regular continental view of the inhabitants of Japan (guess who the Japanese ambassador is in this sixth century Chinese scroll).
>>153406281He’s still Chinese, you could use Chang as a better example since his skin is dark and has stubble.
>>153402437How about we meet half way and just say it's part of the sino sphere?
Then it's panasian, op. In aesthetics, it's panasian.
This is now Abyo's thread.
