So what? Did Megatron that day say to his troops"Hey guys, you know how every time we go and fight we just fucked around and pretended we can't kill a good chunk of them whenever we wanted? Yeah we're not doing that today, kill the shit out of them."

The tv show episodes are resolved in stalemate situations wherein one of the groups is forced to retreat. Also in the show its rarely ever the entire group of bots vs the other its usually small patches doing skirmishes. Megatron usually has a overly complex plan that is foiled and then they retreat. So its pretty simple he just plans a stealth assault on their ship when they arent expecting it and it actually works, in theory you can place that plan in between any episode they just do filler to do a full season of stories. Also notice how randomly in between episodes sometimes theres all new characters and its not explained, same logic.
>>153404394More and more. I'm starting to think TF Animated had the most intimidating Megatron.
>>153404524>he just plans a stealth assault on their ship when they arent expecting it and it actually worksSo the TV-style resolution would be someone (Bumblebee) finds out about the attack and manages to warn Optimus Prime in time and the Decepicons are met with a strong defense and, the sneak attack having failed, they'd run away.
>>153404394I remember there was an argument Brawn should've survived simply because his whole deal is that he's durable
>>153404540Him killing and throwing out Starscream over and over like a moron made that impossible for me.
>>153404810There's a good chance some on the ship were repairable, it's just that the ship then crash landed in flames into the outskirts of the city and likely exploded and rendered their bodies likely molten slag beyond any hope of repair.Hot Rod did shoot the ship down, but he doesn't need any more slander. Him and Daniel scoping out the invasion on the ship probably saved a lot more lives if anything.
>>153404394My really nerdy explanation is that being introduced to the human race, with a more finite lifespawn and more frequent changes and developments in the 20th century, heavily influenced them when they had basically stagnated for millions of years repeating very similar conflicts and plans. It introduced them to a more compressed timespan where as their longetivity meant going in circles. The Autobots and Decepticons were wrapped into doing low-risk engagements without considering the need for definitive kills or changes because of a greater need for self-preservation of the species and mindfulness of limited resources. In G1, the only time the main factions seemed to consider going off world for more energy was only after they were at basically the end of their resources. There seems to be more offworld Autobots/Decepticons by the 20th/21st centuries, but they're largely unconnected to the main branch on Cybertron who stayed behind. But Earth is a game changer. Humans have new energy MacGuffins every week. Deceptions can build new weapons and potential game-winners every week because they can steal as much resources on the planet they want because it's not /their/ planet and the concept of being able to set up and take resources from other worlds is now an idea. When the humans help the Autobots, it's plans within the span of days/months/years, because humans won't last enough to make plans for decades/centuries/millenia
>>153404931to be fair, Starscream in TFA is a vain moron who can't/doesn't realize Megatron won't take his shit.

Female Autobots
I'm glad the Engeron Universe touched on Straxus and Trannis again. If I were to incorporate them into a modern canon, I'd keep them as "lords" working under Megatron like middle management. Straxus is an easy one because essentially his function is a slave camp pit boss, overseeing menial labor of Autobot POWs who will fabricate basic war essentials or be doomed to be recycled>"You will be of use, or become useful"
>>153412979I like how Skybound is pulling from 3 different sources for its Decepticon lineage. The Fallen from Dreamwave, Trannis from Sunbow and Straxus from Marvel.
>>153414286Megatron needs to eat starscream so he isnt there to fuck his plans up and for Straxus to have someone to beat up
>>153404394There were way too many times when their weapons just plain did not work on each other. Like how Optimus was immune from Megatron's gun back when he was built. Megatron had that weird shield thingy. Everyone's lasers bouncing off Ironhide once. No guns ever working on the Dinobots a few times. Way too many times lasers bounced off a character at some point. >>153405097The show kind of established how it's basically impossible to totally kill them. They could be blown up and then put right back together again. Optimus, Omega Supreme, and Grimlock were blown to pieces before. Combatacons were reduced to a single card and they could be stuck right into a new body. They were also blown up and scrapped, then put back together again a week later.>>153405250Seems like the big game changer Earth provided was infinite resources. So they could keep on building more soldiers forever since energy and material was not an issue. They just casually built Combatacons, Stunticons, Dinobots, Aerialbots, Trypticon and Metroplex. The coneheads were likely built there too. The war was basically endless after that point since they can always build more bots to keep the fight alive.
>>153404394Toys for the older characters weren't selling as much anymore. Certain toys like Megatron were being outlawed due to gun/toy confusion. Some actors weren't returning for various reasons so their characters were killed off.The in-series explanation: The Decepticons had enough energon to run at near-full capacity white Autobot efforts were stymied after the take over. Though they had the manpower, most of Prime's group were running on fumes and a full-power laser blast would down a group.Makes sense for the moon base personnel but not so much for those on Earth.
Transformers the movie is the only time it actually felt like a war where both sides were trying to kill each other. Well, at least until Bayformers.
