How exactly is Danny Phenton a nerd or a geek? The dude is literally a pretty boy and is also kinda dumb. if anything he is just an average non-jock.
>>
>>153407818
Probably gets called that because of association with tucker. In a vaccuum Danny's pretty much an average joe
>>
>>153407818
I hate the fact that Lance’s beard always changes position depending where he faces.
>>
>>153407818
IIRC everyone in town saw his parents as lunatics, plus he hung out with a geek and a goth hippie
>>
>>153408071
can't be lunatics when literally the government is doing the ghost shit too.
>>
>>153407818
He is a NASA nerd who wanted to do space related things like astronauts
>>
>>153408202
Most people don't know that.
Also the government hires nerds/lunatics for various reasons anyway.

OP, try to undestand, there are only two kinds of high school students: jocks and nerds
>>
>>153407818
>How exactly is Danny Phenton a nerd or a geek?
His room has an astral wallpaper with a space shuttle model hanging from the ceiling. That could imply that he's into astronomy.
>>
>>153407818
You can be a nerd and also be an idiot. I imagine plenty of guys here fell into that category in school.
>>
>>153407818
he's an imagineer
>>
>>153408202
Normal people don't know ghosts exist
>>
>>153408202
that’s like saying ufo people aren’t lunatics because the government does the ufo shit too
>>
>>153407818
He's just an average kid that no one understands
>>
>>153408714
wrong Hartman MC...
>>
>>153409178
Do you have a hartman OC?
>>
>>153408391
They always attack that city

Danny Phantom was a good show but the weakest aspects of it are the parts that are blatantly stolen from early Silver Age Spider-Man, particularly in regards to Danny's civilian life
>>
>>153408280
>imply
First literal line of the show was him saying that he wanted to be an astronaut. Though that's really the only time he expresses that.
>>
>>153412145
>Episode where Technus possesses a satellite has Danny flying into space and thrilled that he gets to be an astronaut
>Reality Trip has Danny planning to go to space camp, though not quite as planned when he passes through during the chase with Freakshow
It was rare, but it popped up a couple more times.
>>
>>153407818
It's alright, anon. You can just say you had a crush on Danny back in the day, we won't judge
>>
>>153408277
NNNEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRDDD!!!!

I will. OP is a faggot as usual.

For some reason it's just standard cartoon rules that a teenage main character in a cartoon is REQUIRED to be the pathetic nerd loser that is picked on by everyone.

It doesn't make sense but it seems to be a solid rule everyone must follow.
>>
>>153408202
They're considered lunatics not strictly because they hunt ghosts, but because of HOW they do it. They're gung-ho, don't care about property damage, and not even that good at it.

That's still true today and in aimated movies. It goes back to the 1950s.

Any time an animated thing has a teen as the main character then the they are just plain required to be that awkward weird shy outcast type that is constantly picked on by the jocks and Stacys that make up the rest of the background cast. There always has to be some main jock guy in a football jersey that makes it his only mission in life to pick on the nerd character.

He hangs out with nerds, his parents are town weirdos, he had little athletic skill before becoming half ghost and now can't express it if he wants to maintain his secret identity, and he has geeky hobbies (for the time the show first aired, video games are a much more normalfag hobby, though MMOs are still on the nerdier side).

It's all part of cartoon law, that's why Danny ended up with Sam: it doesn't matter that she's literally the worst girl, she's the female protagonist and under cartoon law, the male and female protagonists are legally required to get together, but only at the end of the series, after the will-they-won't-they dynamic has been thoroughly run into the ground.
>>
>>153414948
Hey buddy! Did you see that nerd?
>>
>>153415518
>>153415846
Its because he’s a Spiderman clone guys
>>
>>153415846
GOD I hate Klasky Csupo...
>>
I liked that uuuh, ninja cartoon with a similar premise. The protagonist there was a loser but not a nerd. Just a poorly motivated slacker who aimed to score 40% on the test and not a point more. It made for an entertaining co trast when he was faced with real responsibility and had to reconcile with his slacker ways.
>>
>>153415846
>One of these literally got trooned out for an episode.
It's tough for losers out there.
>>
>>153407818
Why is his teacher looking at him like that?
>>
>>153415846
>There always has to be some main jock guy in a football jersey that makes it his only mission in life to pick on the nerd character.
Weirder still is that oftentimes they're not even the actual nerd. They're nestled under Cool enough to be called one sooner than a Jock, but there's often a proper actual Nerd character and that's rarely the MC. Despite this the truly unlikeable weirdos and the above it all popular kids all orbit around this Everyman kind of would-be Nobody, you can really feel the universe wrapping around its core cast. Obviously the main character's going to be the center of events in a story but I still think it showcases some ego. I wasn't an incredibly bullyable awkward creep and I wasn't a chad so I didn't get tangled up in either of those fields in school. Worst I dealt with were some theater kids.

Hey there was always the chance she'd end up with Male Best Friend. I can't remember, did American Dragon end up doing that? I feel like there was zero chance they'd even consider Trixie and Jake. Maybe racism is also a free out of the trope.
>>
>>153415880
Sam is also a goth and fellow loser, so Danny need to get with her because being an outcast somehow makes her a better person.
>>
>>153417574
Nope, it's just because they're protagonists.
>>

you finna know it

That's because Jake already had a love interest in Rose.
>>
>>153417012
No
>>
>>153419001
You can have a love interest without it being your endgame.
>>
>>153415846
The Hercules one made zero sense to me. He's the strongest, toughest kid in the school and somehow he is STILL the freak that everyone makes fun of nonstop. That just shouldn't be possible.
>>
>>153415846
Shy awkward skinny wimp Jewish kid in class that grew up to be a TV/Film writer only knows about the life of a shy awkward skinny wimp in class.

It's not hard to figure out. The writers who went to film school were the nerds that were endlessly picked on by the football chads. So they think that is universal for all life in all schools everywhere.
>>
>>153419784
He ruins everything he touches, is clumsy and shy, and doesn't have school shooter temperament. His strength doesn't stop him from being bullyable, he's sorta equivalent to the clumsy strongfat freak in your school who leaves the chairs dented, or something. If they at least knew he was a child of the gods they'd be more respectful though, funnily enough.
>>
>>153407818
It's not that Danny was a geek it's that Butch Hartman was and he's still trapped in that adolescent mindset of cliques, jock and the people who used to pick on him like all petty tired animators.
>>
>>153410431
Would it work better if Dash became Danny's friend in college, then Dash cheats on his long-term living together girlfriend with a married woman?
>>
>>153415846
at least in Beavis & Butthead's case, they weren't portrayed sympathetically. everything that happens to them is deserved
>>
>>153420142
It's stupid because no one is going to bully the kid that can effortlessly pop someone's head like a grape. That's kind of the whole point in bullying, it's picking on someone that cannot really fight back.
>>
>>153407818
Butch Hartman is eternally stuck in the 80s
>>
>>153421660
Didn't they all know he was a goody two shoes hero in training that couldn't really do shit unless they attacked him first? Granted it's dumb and shortsighted that they were banking on his sense of honor and duty to protect them.
>>
>>153407919
I'm trying to remember which of the weird curses he threw during the show I wanted you anons to explain to me.
