I think the series brought it on themselves when Matt and Trey got in over their heads voicing the near-entirety of the male cast. That might've worked out fine in its early years from 1997-2003. But there was no reason for Jimmy, the Goth kids, Ned, and so many others could've had their own voices. It'll also put much less strain on Trey's vocal chords and give him the much needed break and reprieve he needed. It's not about author ownership. But a matter of common sense and logic being dictated by one's own ego.

their mistake was becoming the very thing they satirized when Sharon became a couch zombie just scrolling the 24/7 disaster news coverage.

They had a chance to call out the obvious fake engineering of shit, but the last decade and change they've just presented the media narrative as obvious and uncontested fact, and then riffed on that 'reality.' Because spending all your time keeping up on current events has a real ehhh swishifyin' effect on yer head.

This. It's sad how Trey and Matt slowly became the Film Actors Guild with time

i'd rather be right than rich
and they still would have been rich even if they did the right thing, and used the show to point out obvious fraud and distractions, like hiring an actor to play a fake republican while hamstringing the "other side"
south park really had the potential to sway the first third party victory since, what, teddy roosevelt? but.. naw theyre gonna just fellate the nomination coverage people.

They used to hate Sean Penn because he was a self-important douche. I bet modern Matt ans Trey would've sucked his.cock
