>>153419143ITT Characters ruined by quite honestly evil live action adaptationsWonder how hard the lilo and stitch merch tanked after that dumpsterfire of a movie hit theaters? Didn't they pull it from D+

>>153419143She behaves like a child not because she is an autist but because she is a child
>>153419259Anon, it made $4 Billion in merchandise sales the year the remake was released. Normalfags did not care that the remake sucked and gave the Mouse their money.I wouldn't be surprised if they made it bad on purpose so the controversy would serve as free advertising.
>>153419572Source me. They dont show the live action movie at all thar Im aware of and seem to be burying it. As for making it bad on purpose? The fuck are you kidding. It would be okay if it was just bad. This was offensive and a direct attack against everything the first sold to the audience. This was debacle. See bad on purpose for the sake of cheap controversy is like the live action sonic first design thing. Live action lilo and stitch was full mask off and sincere.

This was debacle. And no doubt the controversy made a lot of people aware there was even a remake.I'm not claiming they did it on purpose, it just wouldn't be a shock to me if they revealed it was.
>>153419324Other kids aren't like her, though.
>>1534197911.Hollywood Reporter is basically Disney PR.2.Everyone knew it was a remake. Everyone.3.It's not bad on purpose as a way to gain controversy. Its morally evil and hated for a reason. It poisoned an IP that printed fucking money. Disney is run by the kind of people that were the villains in their original movies.
>>153419844the other kids have parents
Oscar is my favorite autism-coded character, he's so cute
>>153419969Lilo had a sister who loved her and was in everyway her mother and close family. In the live action remake ger sister treated her like a burden yelled at her that shes the reason her parents are dead and life suvks then palms her off to the fucking Hawaiian CPS before she fucks off to do marine biology in California. ...And let me remind you all, that Hawaii has one if the best marine biology schools on earth. With California not having any school on its level. That movie is fucking evil and stupid as shit.

>>153419143That just a kid
>>153419143The little ginger kid in bubble guppies.
>>153420040>shes the reason her parents are deadHow’d she figure that one? I mean, I can imagine some retcons you could make to make an interpretation that it was somehow Lilo’s “fault”, I’m just curious which one they actually went with. I remember in the original movie, Lilo just explains it as an unfortunate car accident on a rainy day. I’ve seen interpretations that lay blame on Pudge the fish, who controls the weather, to explain why it is so important that Lilo deliver his sandwiches.
>>153419143Marvel is such a pussy by not confirming it already.

>>153420055>having uncompromising morals makes you autisticIs this a psyop to make autists hate neurotypical people?
>>153419143OP for using the term "coded" unironically.
>>153419143>>>>>[whatever]-coded
>>153420143
>>153420244jasper is better and more autistic coded
Help me out on this one. Is it autism, adhd, both, or something else entirely?
>>153420244She's cute.Is her show good? How often is she in it?
>>153420504Still you
>>153420664It takes more than a full season for her to even show up. Then there’s a series of episodes where she basically becomes the main character and goes through a huge arc. Then she quietly becomes a side character and goes back to no longer being the main focus, but she continues to show up occasionally.
>>153419143 I do have Asperger's and I think it's more she's just weird and peculiar than having something to diagnose condition. Also I think it's implied that's Lilo at one point was just a little bit weird and when whatever happened to her mom and dad that got the two dead to happen it's supposedly exaggerated her weird features on her with a younger age it's the same thing you could say what happened to Ned Flanders becoming super religious after his first wife died.
>>153420938Ned Flanders was supposed to be the super religious guy even before Maude died, so I feel like he’s a bad example. Maybe he got worse from that point but I actually put that more down to all the characters’ gags and gimmicks getting magnified as the seasons progressed. You do have a point that it’s a pretty fair theory that a lot of Lilo’s weirdness is a cope in response to grief or psychological trauma. It’s really difficult to say, since she’s like, what five years old? She’s probably gonna act a lot more normal as an adult.
>>153421016>he's autistic-coded>except when he's notMake up your mind, nigga.
>>153419143Is the TV series good?
>>153420490He lets a pedo love and allows a guy who is lotterally a murdering rapist go because reveals a suit and hives him a probably made up sob story sbout having kids. Berntral is just a theater jock with mid acting ability and his punisher fucking sucks.
>>153421724I'm about halfway through it and it's decent so far. They didn't recast anybody from the movie and they deviate from the formula often enough to keep it interesting. It does reference a lot of stuff from "Stitch! The movie" which is NOT the theatrical movie so watch that first if you're interested.
>>153420663That's a dog.
>>153421868Well observed.
>>153421868I've read that dogs can have ADHD-like symptoms, so the question is not that out there.
>>153421724I think I'll give it a try, then.Thanks, anon.
>>153420507>>153420539>hating a term that makes sense because people you don't like use itMaybe you guys are actually autistic.
>>153421868It’s a cartoon, jim.
>>153422078Meant for >>153421848LOL
>>153422155Anyone else getting trans-coded vibes from this comment?
>>153420938Lilo wasn't just a little weird, she WAS weird because she's a very young child who no longer had parents and trying to come to terms with the fact that she is completely and utterly powerless. Lots of little kid logic of trying to do things to not feel powerless made worse by her only role model and emotional support being too busy making sure they have food on the table to really keep an eye on her.
>>153419143Og from Mike, Lu and Og>gifted inventor of a island tribe>spends most of his time alone in his workshop building robots and machines>poor people skills, but is friends with wild animals that he has intellectual discussions with
>>153423216>trannies out of nowhereYep, definitely on the spectrum.
>>153420490Having trouble with the grey areas of morality is a common symptom of autism. Seeing the world in total black and white and believing that anyone who commits a crime deserves to be shot in the face is very autistic behavior.
>>153424301>believing that anyone who commits a crime deserves to be shot in the face is very autistic behavior. Is that the Punisher, though? He only kills rapists and murderers from what I recall. He's not cutting someone's throat for jaywalking.
>>153421016Michael Jackson isn't a pedophile.
>>153425267No but he'll shoot you for stealing. Not that it matters, a trial to determine exactly what you're guilty of is not on his list of priorities, if you are a criminal he will kill you, no questions asked. In Civil War when two super villains showed up to meet with the resistance because they wanted to fight on the good guys side for once Punisher gunned them down in cold blood in front of everyone and was genuinely confused why anyone was upset.
>>153425429I think that's part of the joke, anon.
>>153419572>$4 Billion in merchandise sales>all the merch was based on the original movie and TV series
>>153427026There's some based on the new Stitch design, actually.

How Autistic-coded are talking about here?
>>153422155Explain, in great detail, how is saying something is x-coded meaningfuly different from saying it is x instead. How does an autistic-coded character differ from an autistic character? Are you yourself retarded or retarded-coded?
>>153431847>how is saying something is x-coded meaningfuly different from saying it is x insteadIf something is -coded then it's plausibly deniable, even if the creator is smugly lecturing people on twitter about how they managed to Get One Over On The Execs because two characters of the same gender have lingering glances, talk about their feelings in a HR tone of voice, get brunch, and all the other 'I'm not touching you I'm not touching you' kind of stuff. Rather than having a character look at the screen and say to the audience 'X and Y are gay, gay for each other and with each other'. It's subversive, in a 1996 kind of way
>>153419143As someone who was diagnosed with autism, stfu, faggot.I'm sick of you queers labeling fictional character who act odd to be autistic.
>>153419143This film would've been much better if the characters were designed by a Japanese woman.
>>153431925>she doesn't look like my anime girls so she's ugly>>>/a/
>>153431906>my self diagnosis makes me validYou're right tho, lilo has down syndrome
>>153432145You don't have to be a weeb to point out the truth.
>>153432925the girl from the anime spinoff is uglier than lilo
>>153431847coded is just the new way of saying stereotyped
>>153431847"-coded" is just a headcanon that supposedly does not require hard evidence because you're convinced the writers were being sneaky.
>>153432959Nah.
>>153419143How can a doll be autistic?
>>153420539>>153431847Using jargon like "so and so-coded" is, ironically enough, very autistic behavior
>>153434620>you're autistic for noticing patternsAre you calling Spergs a master-race or something?
Ditko's Peter Parker
>>153435379Nah, he was just a bitter loser.
>>153420289Nani never blamed Lilo, that anon is making things up.I don't think the remake stated why their parents died, so it's probably the same as the OG.
>>153436658The parents died because of the weather. They were in a car accident most likely caused by a monsoon or tsunami. In the fish, Lilo has a pet/friend fish named pudge. Pudge controls the weather, is a line in the movie. Lilo feeds him every day, because she's worried if she doesn't the weather will turn ugly. Pudge dies in a deleted scene by Stitch who takes him out of water and laughs as he dies. They remix the scene so you still have Lilo mad at stitch.
>>153430977She lusts for 1000 grown men.
>>153436731>most likely caused by a monsoon or tsunamiConsidering Lilo isn’t all that much younger in the photos of her with her parents, I think we would’ve seen more physical evidence of the cleanup after something as serious as a tsunami if one had just recently come to her island. Nobody else looks like they’re recovering from an enormous natural disaster. There aren’t any trees down even. In fact, all the architecture looks rundown and old like it’s been up for years. They probably died in a regular run of the mill storm. Maybe a low level monsoon, but not a big one.
>>153437150I wonder how big Lilo wants to be, she could be the big kahuna of Hawaii.
>>153420040She has a convenient portal gun to visit Lilo whenever she wants, though.Speaking of which, why did they have to hide it from Cobra of all people? It's not like Nani has a restraining order preventing her from contacting Lilo.

>>153440513AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>>153441045You never had a crush?
>>153419324It seems people seriously misunderstand high-functioning autism as being a general behavioral disorder instead of stunted development. The reason so many people think children who are just being children are autistic is because autistic adults act like children, because that's the whole point. Their minds just stopped developing past a certain age so now they're a 30-year old with the social cues of a 6-year old.
