Hi /co/ yesterday I finished Irredeemable, really great series (except for me the last 15 issues), I loved Qubit character he became my favorite and his action he did was the same I would've did the same.Anyway the Plutonian after reading everything the character seems confusing, I don't mean I don't understand the motives or why he's doing things, but the snap felt kinda all over the place, the Idea I gave myself on why he snapped is basically this>Tired of saving everyone and not hearing a thank you(it's a generalization)>A lot of micro snaps made him do it but I feel that the one that made him snap completly was the Virus, but maybe losing Samsara. But I feel like there's more to it, not like his background/origin but something later in his time made him do it.I found the comic really interesting and loved the story, I know it's not comparable to Watchmen but reading Irredeemable made me feel the love I had for comics and superheroes.I'll read Incorrupitble later today.
>>153419292I mean his 'parents' lay it out. Being raised by a mentally ill woman who tried to kill him multiple times and abused him as a child and then subsequently living as a 'wild boy' and then his adoptive father being a piece of shit virtue signaller fucked him up to begin with, and then basically everyone being an ungrateful piece of shit to him kept him on a constant death spiral until the Virus was the straw that broke the camel's back.
>>153419292>Hey, I read a thing, can you tell me what I think about that thing?Literal npc behavior. It's in the fucking book!
>>153419341For me the origin more gave him his background and let's say moral compass but I feel like his Backstory and the snap are not closelly related I don't mean like no fuck off it's not that it's just I feel like he wanted to do good but at some time he felt like nothing is good but yeah the Virus I felt like was the moment.>>153419449Wanted more to start a conversation about the comic and what I tought of the snap, not that "Give me an opinion" the comic I feel like as I said it's good from the start and middle but the ending seems like really strange not the origin story but the setup of heroes and the "Final Battle" that in the end there wasn't.I liked the Plutonian as a villain and Qubit is a fantastic counter to him and his motives doesn't feel strange he just want to set things right in the best possible way but in the end he has to do what he has to do, the drastic thing.
>>153419292Haven't read it.
>>153419292He is bill "d-fens" foster with superman's powers
>>153420595Really? I don't see how something like that could be plausible.
>>153419292No.
>>153419292>>153419341Why are so many Lolcows complete psychos? It's almost always the parents' fault plus autism plus the people around them.
>>153419292He did his heroism for clout and crashed out like Elon Musk, Marc Andreseen, and Donald Trump the moment they were criticized once
>>153419292The only thing he did wrong was taking his time laying waste to Earth. He should've just punched the damn planet in half.
I remember clearly the first crack was he realized people are don't value his efforts.
>>153419292I think he was born broken from an impossible fever wish from a crackwhore, and everything else was just cope.
>>153425963fitting since he's based on an impossible wish from a manchild
>>153419292>Why he snapped?i read i a long time ago but isnt it because his lois tells everyone his secret as soon as he reveals it to her?
>>153424870That's bad writing.
>>153419292He crashes out because he gives everything too much importance. "That guy said I'm a pervert in tights, and I heard it so now I'm forever upset and borderline traumatized for it."I personally would've thought that "lmao he's jealous cause if he wore this suit he'd have no muscles to pull it off", and very likely hit the nail in the head. Or you know, ignore it. If you cared about what everybody thought, what happens when you run into retarded people? Have you heard of reddit? Heh, have you scrolled any thread here ever? Anyway, his neeeeeed to take everybody seriously, plus his ability to hear anybody in the planet at any time, it made him hyper serious about maintaining his image. So when some blogger scientist shat on him, Plutoniam went to him like "okay here's some alien tech, see? Not hoarding it. Have your friends study it." and then his friends fucked up and caused a child eating virus. Which indirectly was Plutonian's fault for giving the tech. So the stress of having to cover that up and being found out made him snap and kill those involved to "hide it", and then well, the hiding act ironically exposed it. So after that they just went gore cringe clickbait to sell the comic to the diminishing demographic interested in it.
I mean, he was practically 'born' unstable. Add to that a lack of parental love and a belief that everyone else's needs come before his own hammered into him by his last adoptive father, and he was basically starved for any sense of affection. He couldn't even get that in the form of validation as an adult superhero, but because of said belief he had to keep everything bottled up. The virus incident wasn't exactly the final straw, but it did cause it-it turned his greatest friend against him when he found out, basically taking away the last form of any kind of love from him after his girlfriend freaked out and exposed his identity
>>153423031O-okay...
On a side note, am I the only one who found pic related quite lame? it wasn't really that interesting to read, the only moment I remember is when that guy ties him up to torture him and knocks him out just before he starts getting his strenght back
>>153431747it was better than irredeemable writing wise shits the bed though
Op Here came back.Well after thinking and reading the thread maybe it's not just the snap but like real life jsut a mix of all things in a bad day, so yes his conception with the mind of a crazy lady and then how he grew up mixed with al lteh shit made him do it.>>153431747Started reding like I said, it captured me more than Irredeemable, it's written better (at issue 5 for now) but I think is one of those comic that is really a Spin off I mean it works only if you read the main saga.
>"People don't appreciate me. Guess I'll drown and set Babies on fire."
>>153419292Its just that he was an imperfect creature expected to have a perfect handling of everything. Its like that line from JLU where Superman is like "I have to be careful all the time like I live in a world of cardboard and paper" but taken to dark dive of how high strung someone would have to be to live that.Superhearing that can hear calls for help hundreds of miles away, but you're trying to ignore it so that you can seem humble and wave thanks at the public. Tens of thousands of lives saved with and people will still find ways to complain. You about to sneeze? Better perfectly tense your body to hold it in best as you can, because the 1 time you forget from the 13000000 sneezes you'll make will decapitate someone by accident and thats all anyone will think of you as, the monster with the killer sneeze.Put on a can-do attitude and show nothing but kindness so people would accept you, but it's only made it so if you ever let loose any anger even your closest loved ones will show nothing but fear in their eyes.
>>153432812elon musk did that from usaid cuts after he got called a nazi
