Honest question, is gumball worth watching? I remember watching it as a kid and liking it but I feel off it at some point. My perception of gumball as an adult are out of context clips and references
The 1st season was good and really well animated back when it blew all its budget on that season alone. Later seasons changed both the art style and the comedy and became kid version Family Guy minus the cutaways. Take that however you will. Its still decent despite the weird changes, its just nothing like its earlier seasons. Some highs along with some lows episodes basically. Definitely watch the series from the start to take in the slow transition.

>>153430018You can tell that the creators wanted to make a movie right after season 3 and that everything else is fluff. If that dissuades you then don't bother. If you can just watch a random assortment of 5 to 10 episodes from each season to get a vibe from each one. The humor basically changes every season so if you like what you see in general, then go for it on how you see fit.The animation, visuals, and sound basically get worse over time outside of some outliers though.

>>153430018Gumball is definitely worth watching. You would think it'd be all style over substance, but the writing is on par with the crazy visuals. Really snappy comedic timing and some clever dialogue humor. Quality gets kind of inconsistent the further it goes, though, but it's still on average LEAGUES above most cartoons.

>>153432475yeah, but i feel like they sacrificed the comedy and writing for the visuals. the animation got a big improvement, but the entire series just feels off.
>>153444591"Off" how? I didn't revisit the original run before Wonderfully Weird, so it all felt more or less like Gumball to me. Maybe with a slight animation upgrade if anything
