Sorry for another Toy Story thread, friends. But I've wanted to make this thread since the beginning of the year and haven't had time... There's a lot of talk about game remasters, but what about movies?Yes, movies. Using Toy Story as an example, the first 3D animated film made for theaters was very impressive, and even watching it today, it's still watchable but there are some animation problems that the creators themselves acknowledge due to a lack of technology at the time. The second one evolved a bit.Do you think a remastering and reanimation of at least some parts would be viable? Note that I'm not talking about a remake, something more like what they did with the Elder Scrolls Oblivion: no changing dialogues, scenes, etc., just reanimating. I think it would be beautiful.
>>153433209I understand your point, but to be fair, the main characters (toys) are very good, especially Woody and Buzz. Even today, of course, something could be improved. I think the main thing would be the surrounding environment, and I really liked those extras When I was little, I watched it whenever I could.
>>153433209They seem good to me, but it would be welcome, I would support it. Especially Cid's dog running through the city chasing Woody and Buzz, but I don't think it's useful to take it to the cinema. A DVD version would be much better, maybe with some extras? The 3rd one doesn't need any changes And I like the color palette of the first ones, it's more colorful I think, I don't know.
>>153433209I think it would be good, but it's impossible.
>>153433209It would be much better than making a new Toy Story.
>>153433284Anon, Pixar is mercenary, like, really mercenary. Any effort to reanimate the scenes would be laborious enough to take at least a whole year, and I think releasing it only on DVD would be a waste of money for these parasites and would be revolutionary because it's never been done before.
>>153435793I don't think it's that difficult because it's not exactly a remake.
>>153435840Reanimating is incredibly difficult. I'm an animator, but I don't work in the field anymore, and in some projects I've worked on, my team and I would take two weeks to animate a 13-minute short film.and since Toy Story from 1995 is a relatively old film, reanimating and correcting some parts would be very difficult.
>>153435887>Reanimating is incredibly difficult.I don't know if I understand you. I'm not saying animation is easy, but how much effort has already been put into these recent crappy Pixar movies to animate films from scratch? It's not like it's impossible, and obviously I don't have the experience or knowledge you possess, and I respect that, but it's not like it's such a complicated task that it's unfeasible. They wouldn't remake the film from scratch, just polish it, and I don't think it would take that long. One of the producers, whose name I don't remember, literally criticized some scenes from the first one for being quite strange and showed interest in saying that it didn't turn out exactly as they wanted.
>>153435965Wow, 2 weeks to animate less than 20 minutes? A very competent team.
>>153433209heard u like special editionsjk i know what you meani think the original files are so old that trying to take them to reanimate some of it on modern computers might be difficult. or if they replicate the old assets anyway, they'd have to render it too and using the renderfarm would also be costlyand they don't know how much profit it'd even bring in if it's just dumped straight on streaming anyway
