I concede. I used to think they were being babies about it, but everything people have been saying about Hollywood for the past decade is true. Genuinely what the fuck is there to even look forward to? This is the least optimistic era in entertainment history.

My personal fanfic on TS5:

They could keep this toys vs. technology storyline, but in one particular scene, the toys would be browsing the internet and would see Andy with his wife and children, and how well they're doing. A feeling of nostalgia would fill the room.

After the plot unfolds, based on this leak, Bonnie doesn't value her toys much, as she's willing to donate Jessie to another girl. So the film could conclude that, like most children today, Bonnie doesn't really care much about toys, and like any mother, toys taking up space and gathering dust bother her, leading her to propose donating them

Andy, being an adult man, would obviously visit his mother and sister, and during these visits, he would meet Bonnie's mother. And in this cringe conversation about children, wife, marriage and blah blah, she would talk about how Bonnie is growing up and this generation of children is very different because they just want to have their faces glued to smartphones and iPads all day.

Andy laughs and says that's true, but being "the moral of the story", he would say that him always reduced the screen time his children could have with technology and says that children should play. And on this subject, Andy asks how Bonnie is doing with her toys

Bonnie's mother says that she practically doesn't play anymore and is addicted to technology, and she intends to pass them on to another child if she continues like this. One of Andy's children's eyes light up, and Andy asks if that's the case, if she wouldn't mind "returning" the toys to him. She doesn't hesitate and hands over the box of toys.

The girl bossification of Bo Peep is so pandering to me and probably the most forced feature in modern Disney movies. It's like the studio is trying to atone for their past by forcing existing characters into this bad ass, quirky girl stereotype. It's insulting. A female character can be "strong" without dropping sassy remarks and kicking ass. It's okay to be gentle and flirty.

Let me tell you something: Start by separating what would logically be canonical and official. I'll explain.

TS4 destroyed the franchise, the mentality of all the characters, and the movie is simply a series of unrelated events, in addition to the various retcons. From a logical point of view, this wouldn't make sense within the film's canon, but it's still something official made by Disney.

I see it like Dragon Ball GT, official? Yes. Canonical? No.

The story ended with Andy leaving, Woody not finding Bo Peep, and Jessie not changing owners again. The last Toy Story movie we had was in 2010; the franchise has been dead since then.
