Post the absolute worst /co/ related media you've ever seen
I don't want to be too hard on the movie. It's a small, independent film, and it's clear that the filmmakers were passionate about the project. The animation is charming, despite its flaws. However, most of its attempts at humor fall flat, either because of the quality of the jokes or how they're executed. The film's overall pacing is also pretty poor. At least it has a few good songs.

>>153437132every netflix original animated movie looks like this
>>153436976It's actually a pretty solid Disney-style consolidation/update of the Monkey King story pre-Journey to the West. The Dragon King far and away stole every scene he was in, yes, but there's plenty to like elsewhere. For one thing, the movie is gorgeous.

>>153436758I have probably seen worse but this is the first one that came to mind. Remember in the 90s when everything was getting remade in animation instead of the other way around?

First time an animated movie made me angry. I read the book and watched the far superior live action movie so I had pretty high expectations going as left frustrated.
>>153441537Autism >>153436758This. Out of morbid curiosity I tried to watch this show and even with low expectations I was disappointed. It's just ugly, brainless garbage.
>>153438886NTA, but in criminology, John Doe is a placeholder name for any person that hasn’t been identified or is being kept from the public, so it fits for a Charles Manson film.>>153441256Is there anything specifically bad about the movie, or is it just generic bad?

>>153441820Mighty Kong is generically bad and it also has some terrible musical numbers that replace a lot of the action scenes. And it's a half hour shorter than the original King Kong which was already not a long film by modern standards (1 hour 39 minutes, Mighty Kong is an hour and 6 minutes). I have a feeling it was put out as a rights retainer. It's not much worse than typical direct to video studio cash-ins from the time but its existence is an oddity.
>>153441970So it’s basically an ashcan copy? That would track for Warner, they seem to have a small habit of making those to retain film rights (the Willy Wonka Tom and Jerry film and War for Rohirrim being prominent examples).
Genuinely shocked me how bad it was, I know Illumination isn't a heavy weight or anything but this was just dreadful.
>>153442020If Warner Bros. hadn't let go of the Lego license we could have gotten a Lego Lord of the Rings movie. That would have had some actual novelty and value beyond stopping the rights from expiring on LOTR.
Not letting this thread die yet.

I'm actually on a quest to find the worst kids movies ever on Tubi. I'll check back when I can find one worse than Igor
>>153443183NTA, but my honest answer is it's not horrible. Among the various complaints made about the first movie, the ONLY ones they actually addressed were the cliched use of licensed music instead of recreations of tracks from the games, and Luigi's lack of screentime. It still feels like they're speedrunning through it to get to the next setpiece, there's still not really a plot, Peach is still extremely boring, Rosalina is just a second Peach but has even less screen time than Luigi did in the first movie, and the only character who goes through anything resembling an arc is Bowser. And they kind of drop that just as it's getting started.
>>153444518There's plenty worse like Spark a space tail, Justin and the Knights of valour plus the ever iconic Space Chimps which is ironically entertaining. I'd also nominate Nut Job and Nut Job 2 for the crap list plus Duck Duck Goose as suggestions if looking for moderately budgeted animated garbo.

Saw this last week.I tought it had good animation but bad Dub and a boring kinda ET story.I'm Euro and I love euro movie but this is certainly one of those "Euro movies" not like tits or stuff but long boring scene of nothing. It's just a 1 hour an 20 movie but it felt like a 3 hour movie.

>>153436758You know, for as popular an adaptation as Journey to the West is, it's really strange how I've never actually seen a straight, pure adaptation of the story. Just, the actual story of a monk traveling to India alongside his magical companions and getting into monster of the week fights. Is the Monkey King really so interesting of a character that he deserves to break out into all this new media of his own?
>>153436758Only memorable part was the angel randomly doing a pole dance
This is bad, but it's bad in a really entertaining way. This is a movie everyone should watch. The animation is abysmal, the humor so utterly out of sync with its target demo and sleazy, the plot hilariously self-serving and consumerist... this movie is a perfect diamond of trash that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetimes.

>>153441746This show was kino, you have trash taste
>>153446955I chalk it up to Journey to the West being far longer than you think it is. The thing is twice as long as both Don Quixote novels combined. There's a reason people only adapt Monkey King's backstory, and it's because it's the first five chapters, out of 100.
>>153443183I watched it the hate where some fags call it a 1/10 or one of the worst movies ever is vastly overblown. To me it was basically on par with if not slightly worse than the first one>Looks pretty>References are fun>Plot is next to non existant with characterization and plot points getting 180d or dropped out of nowhere>Pacing is fucked and way too fastIf you like Mario/Nintendo stuff you'll probably enjoy it still. I would personally give it a 5 or 6/10 as someone not super big on Nintendo stuff

>>153441508I couldn't get through the first episode. Every single gag was entirely too predictable to the point where I was actually expecting the punchline to be that they would avoid making the obvious joke. They didn't. The acting was really bad and the visual aesthetic had nothing to make it interesting as it just replicated the typical generic animation for adults look. It was disappointing after watching anons ball wash this show for years on /co/, but then again, people also seemed to like Final Space which was another steaming pile of shit. I wouldn't say that either Inside Job or Final Space are "the absolute worst", because there are even worse candidates out there, but I think both were fucking awful considering how much they were overhyped.
>>153441324There's a certain dankness to movies that are this shitty, though. Like, It's definitely not a good movie, but I'd rate the entertainment value higher than something that was more competently made but otherwise unremarkable. The shittiness is a feature.

>>153448520The Asylum made a few animated knockoffs. I know they did a brunette Little Mermaid to coincide with the Disney slop remake a few years back.
>>153436758"Cathedral of new emotions" is terrible at levels I didn't even think possible. It's some German indie art film that's all the worst aspects of stoner flick, pretentious drivel, and sexploitation with no upsides. I don't mind weird trashy animated kino, I had fun with Heavy Metal, Fritz the Cat, and Belladonna of sadness. But this movie SUCKS. It's not deep, it's not smart, and it's not kinky or fun. There's barely a plot, and the scene transitions are beyond jarring. It's zombie South park written by the sausage party team. For fucks sake, the title card is in COMIC SANS, without irony. And it's BORING. This was actually harder for me to watch than the Star wars Christmas special, I didn't think of movie would get worse.
>>153446007>that scene where he gets fat, lands in the trophy for the dog competition and he farts and he shits and he farts so hard I think he might be dying and shrivels up like a raisin.Why.
I couldn't even make it through the first episode of Mega Babies. It does the gross out shit TOO WELL and never lets up to the point where it's not funny and just actively unpleasant. >>153448520This. There is no greater crime for a piece of media that being mediocre. It is better to be shit than it is to be mediocre. At least people can laugh at it or do Let's Plays or reviews or whatever and try to get something out of it. But if it's mediocre and 'just OK' then people don't really want to.
>>153447248Bill Nighy?
>>153460281Pretty much the only merits I'll give it is that Zartog is a funny bad guy being essentially just a cunt neighbour being granted dictatorship through a mech, Patrick Warburton always is welcomed in anything and I liked some of the weird alien mounts or the flesh devouring beast. Besides that it's utterly bottom of the barrel and I'm not surprised Vanguard studios died not long after making this and Happily N'Ever After.
>>153446955I remember "Journey to the West: Legends of the Monkey King" having a lot of focus on the monk.
>>153443754Gotham Knights was a product of a poor idea with extremely limited access to Batman characters and zero connection to the Arrowverse or Gotham continuities. Yes, Naomi was worse but neither should have been made.I won't even blame the Batwoman writers. Blame WB. They didn't trust CW writers with the Batman license, then don't make the fucking Batman-less show.
>>153461263A reminder as well: Matt Reeves will basically borrow GK's Harvey Dent / Court of Owls storyline for his own version in Batman Part II. Doing it better yeah but unoriginal. Shows that like with Penguin borrowing from Gotham that Matt Reeves sees that and is like "Ooo I can do that BETTER!"Yeah. Sure okay. So we're doing the Batman license like this? It's so hypocritical.
>>153443183It terrible, but the whole movie just feels like one long action sequence. Like it doesn't give itself time to breathe, and beyond like 1 or 2 segments it doesn't really give you much reason to care about anything, and it gets frustrating with some sections that add nothing could have been entirely cut and have their time used better.I get why people wouldn't like it or care for it, what gets me confused is why so many are acting like watching the movie causes a hologram of miyamoto to appear and give them testicular torsion. If it was like a TLOU2 situation where critics/some other group of media outlets were asskissing it to high heaven then sure i guess, but like, even the positive critics are 'its alright'.
>>153461263>>153461278First of all I would have wrote it that Batman doesn't die. He is ASSUMED dead but not around. At least give him one scene in action setting up his disappearance and have him return at the very end to show he ain't really missing or dead. Don't cast a stand-in with an incomplete Batsuit to play his corpse. Warren Christie is affordable.Second, should have just made it a sequel to the show Gotham. If the odds were already against them, it would not have hurt to tie it to a 100-episode show from another network and get the same writers to write a pseudo mini-epilogue to that version of Bruce. Hell, if they wanted to make Gotham retroactive Arrowverse canon, without the Batwoman writers, have this be the bridging point between the two continuities. In the end, they went the lazy route and no one was invested in some Earth-GK continuity with no connection to anything else.
