Really wanted her as a boss fight in Kingdom Hearts.

And you know what's infuriating? Queen La is public domain but if you adapt her you get sued by that shitty Edgar Rice estate. How much longer are those bastards going to keep this trademark shit?
>>
>>153443559
low standards
>>
>>153444891
Look I hate masturbators as much as anybody given the ugly shit that they keep shilling here like the hideous Adventure Time females or Amphibia or furry trash, but Queen La is canon hot. Do you know how rare that is in a western animated media? Because Americans like ugly females a design like Queen La's is uncommon. About the only thing that disappoints about Queen La is her one note characterization because lusting after the hero gets fucking old and fast.
>>
>>153444870
>Queen La is public domain but if you adapt her you get sued by that shitty Edgar Rice estate.
How does that happen? Or is there a specific version of her they say is still not public domain and they get people on that?
>>
>>153444870
The ERB estate is one of the worst trademark holders. They have no idea what to do with their IPs and don't seem to understand anything about the modern media ecosystem, so they just sit on the rights and hope Disney will get over the John Carter catastrophe someday so they can go back to charging them huge sums for Tarzan adaptations.
>>
>>153445058
The book where she debuts is public domain but even then the estate will sue. The thing you need to understand is that even using strictly the public domain material will land you in hot water because the estate of Edgar Rice is THAT spiteful and greedy.

The biggest victory for the public domain was Sherlock Holmes fully entering it through every book in that series finally having their rights expired. And that seems to be the trajectory for Tarzan, that we need to wait until every single book is public domain so that the estate has no leg to stand on and sue anymore.
>>
>>153445077
Speaking of John Carter the Edgar Rice estate apparently were such cunts over the rights to John Carter that they rejected George Lucas trying to gain the license and in turn he created Star Wars a franchise that replaced John Carter in the eyes of many. At least that's what I've heard, always thought it was Flash Gordon instead of John Carter.
>>
>>153444870
Would never happen because Disney would never allow a white boy to fight and kill a dark skin woman that they created. And for those wondering in the actual books Queen La is white.

Anyway Disney is all about Black Lives Matter and wants to dodge controversies and showing a white hero slaying a dark skinned anything is asking for trouble on Disney's end.
>>
>>153445126
Yeah I knew they held on to Tarzan and John carter with a retarded iron grip but I wasn't sure exactly what their reasoning was there. That there are still books where she appears in that are not in public domain makes sense as an excuse. It's shit, but it's not surprising they'd do it. Honestly I have no idea what the fuck they think this does for Tarzan or John Carter. They've kept such a tight grip on both that now a days no one knows who John Carter is and less and less know Tarzan. The estate is so set on trying to nickle and dime the value of their few trademarks that they held onto them until they suffocated.
>>
>>153445331
Indeed and all this trademark suffocation does is doom a property to obscurity. A victim of this is Zorro the character who helped inspired Batman himself. Trademark lawsuits for Zorro are extreme and well nowadays no one knows who he is or cares. That's what will happen to Tarzan.
>>
>>153445412
>A victim of this is Zorro
I didn't realize Zorro fell under this as well. I knew he had some movies even up until the early 2000s. I know there hadn't been any in a while but I thought that was just a lack of interest rather than legal nonsense.
>>
>>153443559
More sexy her.
>>
It was hot how she kept a harem of jaguar men. Like you just know she kept a few for sexual purposes only
>>
>>153444718

Thing is, in ERB's actual fiction, Queen La is, like, Aryan ideal.

It's amazing she only appeared in three episodes. They're my three favorite episodes of the series.

If the new Tarzan cartoon was made on streaming services, she would be naked.

Leopard Men.
Funny enough, while La and Opar are from the Tarzan books, the men were ape-like, the result of a lost Atlantean mining colony race-mixing with apes and then having brutal eugenics where they killed baby girls who looked like monkeys and baby boys who still looked like handsome white boys.
The Leopard Men were real African secret society Tarzan fought a fictionalized but still non-magical version of in a completely different book.
Despite completely changing the population of Opar to La and some magic leopard men, the Disney artists hinted at the Atlantis thing by giving her the skin and hair colors of Atlanteans from Disney's own movie.

The Zorro situation reminds me of how another character inspired by him, the Dreamworks version of Puss in Boots, is possibly more recognizable at this point, as well as, Antonio Banderes has played Puss longer and more frequently than Zorro at this point

Teenage me jacking off to Queen La. Wanted to shoot my load all over her stomach.

flip dem genders and everyone is big mad.
i'll be making a chatbot version of her to conquer and leash.

That's actually pretty cool
>>
>>153443559
Because of the implication that she fucks chimps, but also is aware enough to be ashamed of it.
>>
Who here remembers that time we fucksmithed an idea for Jane and Queen La becoming fertility goddess turning into into hyper curvy breeding obsessed deity even Venus de Willendorf sized in some concepts

I'll contribute the one Queen La image I have. Always liked this character; it's still surprising to me that they actually killed her, gave her a body-snatching revenge plot, and then had her end up completely obliterated by the end of her last appearance.
>>
>>153459090
>Damnit the writers won't stop trying to include her in plots, and everything they write is just more and more horny
>The animators are no better, they're putting her in sexual poses on purpose, we've had to throw out so many takes
>There's no way around this problem... we have to kill her
