PICKLE RIIIIIIIICK wubalubadubdub motherfucker! Jokes aside, the show was fine. I thought it would be obnoxious due to its rep but it turned out to be surprisingly pleasant. I remember seeing discussions about how women writers ruined the show from season 3 onwards but I only started noticing the change from season 4 onwards. It only became pronounced from season 5. The show also got progressively more serious after season 4 but thankfully they didn't drag out "serious" arcs like Evil Morty and Rick Prime too much. The worst episode by far was the rise of the numericons. That was just dogshit. I also didn't like it when they get too meta about tropes. The episodes involving Storylord just felt lazy. They would lazily point out tropes and Rick would talk about how it's bad and also talk about how getting meta storytelling is also bad. As though being self-aware about going meta makes it any less boring. Space Beth was also a meh addition and unsurprisingly her romance with regular Beth was a dumb idea that they predictably dropped after 1 episode. Jessica being Morty's main love interest only to be forgotten in the latter seasons was a negative as well (would've liked to see planetina return as his love interest in an episode or two). What else? Oh, I also enjoyed Jerry more than I thought I would. I wasn't expecting to like him more than Beth and Summer. Genuinely pathetic characters are hard to pull off without getting grating. Anyway, that's what I thought of it.
>>153448310A. Lot of ehat you don't like is also what I don't like about later seasons of Community.
In the later seasons after Rick sees the shrink for a bit and goes through a positivity stint where he was encouraging with morty was fun. I thought, "yah know, this is an entertaining change"Then they rugpulled it because he was just a bit and rick was just still stuck as an obsessive, which i just shrugged to and thought, "ah, right, that does make me more sense."
>>153448600Yeah, lol that felt too good to be true but I guess they didn't want to ruin the only winning formula they had.
>>153448310That metashit was awful.
>>153448310>Just binge watched all 8 seasons of Rick and Morty the past few daysop you're me
>>153448310It's rare to get just an honest opinion and breakdown of what a viewer doesn't like. Personally, while I have my gripes with it, I don't mind it's continuation. But I also don't know what could "save" the show. Maybe if it followed a Doctor Who structure, but not as intense? One-off adventures per episode, but there's a plot throughline for that particular season. A story that happens in the background. Kind of like that one episode of Community where Abed helps a pregnant lady, but it has nothing to do with the plot of the episode, so nobody notices.Who knows. But what I do know is that I really don't like Morty's current voice actor. It's too high-pitched and cracks too often.

Though I wouldn't mind it if they went back to the structure of season 1 and 2.

>>153449670Boob-yeah.
I cant watch the later seasons it gets painful to watch>oh im doing an over done trope but it’s okay because im acknowledging that it’s an overdone trope therefore it’s okay to use and i’m breaking the fourth wall, please laughit gets tiring because they start doing this every episode, they dont even do an interesting twist on the trope most of the time
