How does it compare to the other Sony cartoons like Jackie Chan Adventures, Men in Black, the Godzilla cartoon, Big Guy and Rusty and Spectacular Spider-Man? Despite it being a Sony cartoon/Columbia Tristar part of the Adelaide Productions division, it surprisingly wasn't really an action series.

and keep in mind, Dragon Tales was aimed at grade school kids like all the other shows. Even PBS Kids confirmed it was aimed at 7 year old kids, just like Jackie Chan and Men in Black were.

They’re not really comparable to any of the shows you listed but I remember it being charming. Doesn’t hurt that Sesame Workshop was involved.

Sony specifically went this direction because they wanted to get in on the edutainment market.
