dude...
I just wanna know-is my boi Lotso gonna be IN the movie or NOT?
>>153456686You haven't seen anything yet! We've had a crazy amount of merchandise coming out lately, and besides that, a strangely high number of movie spoilers. Was that intentional? Blaze and his whole messed-up arc have been leaked, and Buzz is apparently going to marry Jessie.
>>153456868No. Neither Andy nor anything we've seen before. It's like a parallel universe from a fanfic by some schizophrenic with lots of pimples.
>>153456872The thing is, nobody's hyped for this movie, Disney knows it and they're desperately trying to grab attention with these "leaks," you know? At this point we already know like 20% of the movie, no joke, lol.
>>153456872Sounds like one of those Circle 7 Toy Story 3 drafts.
>>153456948Better than TS4 honestly
>entire movie is about how kids don’t play with toys anymore>make an absolute assload of toys based on it>this includes a fake iPad with a dot-matrix black and white LCD calculator screen in the year of our lord 2026 that no kid anywhere on earth wants
>>153457063LMAO
Absolutely mind-boggling to release a toy with 1998 technology based on a character whose entire identity is “high tech device that can do anything.”It would be like releasing Buzz Lightyear figures that aren’t even trying to be the “coolest toy ever” and instead are missing paint details, have extremely limited articulation, and overall suck ass in comparison to stuff made 30 years ago.…oh wait…
>>153457157>oh wait…Yes?
>>153457063The marketing manager should be fired and crucified.
>>153456935Will this affect the film's box office?
>>153457063Yeah... this could maybe work up until the late 2000's or so, but who but the most deranged Disney adult is going to buy this?
>>153456686>Sheriff Buzz>Man with no Name WoodyI at least like this.
>>153456686I think a toy like this makes sense. The message about technology is probably going to fly over the head of lots of kids who watch the movie and they'll just want the frog tablet. This is a way for parents to make them happy while also giving them something locked down and educational.
>>153458218>NTARealistically, probably not, but another part of me believes this movie won’t make a billion like the last two did.
>>153458304Crap
>>153457157Making a movie-acurate Buzz toy isn’t possible. And kids don’t care as long as it looks good enough, I sure didn’t.
>>153458304Only woody can be the sheriff
>>153456686Looks cheap as hell, you can find Aliexpress stuff with more tech in it. Imagine if the point is that they release this thing with the assumption that some kids will throw it out when they hate the character in the movie. (Free money.)That said, my blind guess is that somehow the toys will coexist with Lilypad in the movie at the end, or it'll all end in a big truce in some way. I don't know if Disney/Pixar are stupid enough to make an unwanted sequel about how electronics and iPad kids are bad, only to then sell copies of said toy. Then again, Disney the last 10-20 years has been one of the biggest dumb-dumbs of the universe and somehow managed to nosedive both Marvel and Star Wars into the ground to where both generally get ignored, rather than it being some cultural phenomenon that everyone quotes and makes fanfiction of.Now they're stuck relying on milking "Baby Yoda" as pretty much their only hit.
>>153456686>Type in certain sequence>Digitized porn music starts>"It's time for grown-up fun! Cum on my face!"They'd sell billions.
>>153456686They don't even TRY to hide the fact Toy Story films are still being made just to sell new merch.

>>153457063I remember having a toy computer with one of those black and white LCD calculator screens as a four year old but that was in 2000. I can't imagine what kid would want this over a cheap tablet.
I can actually see there being an amount of demand for a fake ipad toy with limited functioning instead of just giving the kid a whole real every time they want to play toy story. Very little kids could use it for pretend play in between their actual screentime and imitate events in the movie. Without risking damaging an actual ipad. It’s not much different than giving them plastic vegetables or a fisher price lawnmower or telephone. But if the thing costs as much as a real ipad and is just as delicate, then fuck that.
>>153457157>t. childless boardThese are for toddlers to play pretend with. It’s normal for baby toys to be cheap. The kids don’t know any better, and will throw it on the ground either way.
this movie is a total fucking embarrassment.
>>153456686when is toy story even supposed to take place? this leapfrog thing looks like something from 2001 even though it's clearly supposed to mirror modern tablets
>>153461916>childless board
>>153460794Lmao, I had one in 1994 and I thought it was the lamest shit ever. I had asked for a real computer.
>>153462188It’s a vague “present day” setting, but I guess the timeline is starting to get a little fucked, because some movies have time skips between them and others now keep the characters’ ages static. It’s only gonna continue to get worse if they keep pumping out movies while keeping the status quo where Bonnie is like five. Though I think even going back to the first movie, they never let shit not being perfectly analogous to the real world stop then from inserting ideas.
>>153459717ThisWoke story
>>153462309Woody hereThe first one takes place in 1995 and the second in 1999, but judging by Andy's age not having changed drastically, I suppose the first and second weren't very far apart chronologically, and there's that time gap between the second and third which, honestly, makes the third seem like a completely disconnected film. If the fourth takes place in 2019, it really doesn't make sense for Bonnie to be so young.
>>153462669>>153462309In those scenes from the third movie where they show Andy playing with his toys, how old was he? Did his mother show him growing up, maybe around 13 years old? When did he stop playing?
>>153462699Nobody uses toys after the age of 13.
Did anyone notice these spoilers being revealed so recklessly? Who's behind this?
>>153462760That’s the age where you still own your old toys, but you treat them as a collection. You don’t play with them every day anymore. But once in a blue moon, you pull them down again, to make sure they still work and they’re not falling apart. And you play pretend with them for just a few minutes on a whim, for the nostalgia. Then your brother catches you and starts making fun of you for being a baby who still plays with toys, and you have to deny it and try to tackle him.
>>153462780I keep seeing anons post about spoilers but I haven’t actually sought them out. What was spoiled?
>>153458218No, it's a recognizable IP so it will still make a gorillion in nostalgiabux because the common movie-going audience are farm animals.
>>153462819There's so much to tell you, I don't know where to begin... First of all, we know practically the entire "Blaze" arc, where Jessie returns to Emily's house and Blaze is somehow involved, perhaps being her granddaughter, and in the end, she'll leave the group and be with her. (laughs) And we also know that Buzz will marry Jessie. These are the spoilers revealed throughout this week that we are very sure about.
>>153462812Nothing to do with my post
>>153463022Who’s Blaze?
>>153463088a little "cowgirl"
>>153463022Wait.. I'm lost here what hell is she going to dump everyone? Didn't she apparently marry Buzz? I'm not going to watch
>>153463250I don't know the answer, but if I had to guess, they'd be married "long-distance" or something like that Buzz wouldn't be able to go see her from the city in the middle of the woods cuz you know he is a 30-centimeter toy. The sixth one will be so bad that this Blaze will be the new Bonnie
>>153456868Ned's dead so not likely.

>>153463501He is correct.Did Your liberal intelligence failed to grasp that since the first film there has been an analogy to family and uninterrupted friendship? Even when Andy's arc closed, the main reason why Woody decided not to go to college with Andy was necessarily due to the fact that he wanted to be with his "family" and that a separation would not be consistent with his philosophy. What happened in the 4th and now with Jessie in the 5th is retconning of the most pathetic kind possible. Even if you think loyalty and family are fascist, racist, religious, extremist concepts or anything like that, that's what the original films were based on.

>>153456686Dude if they cant show Buzz and Woody on that little screen, kids are going to go apeshit. There's been a bit of a push for people wanting less tech and modern shit and wanting things that are both simpler yet require more work. Instead of buying Christmas ornament it's making them yourself, and even a lot of people wanting streaming to go away and going back to preset TV guide schedules and needing to use a player to watch movies. At the same time it feels rather performative and only upper middle class white people seem to be in to this lifestyle while the brown slave class wants more and more convenience even if it's cheap and bad for you.

>>153463952There needs to be a balance struck between the hardships of being the literal only kid in class with no computer because your parents are luddites who think it’s the devil, and being a kid whose parents let the ipad babysit them 24/7 til their brains rot. And I don’t really want to blame parents too strongly for not instinctually getting that balance, especially when they themselves didn’t exactly grow up with ipads, and they probably have their own degree of phone addiction. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lilypad was marketed as an educational device that’s good for child development, and the adults are all falling for it. It could even be that Bonnie’s daycare required her to get one to do homework on, I hear that’s a thing now.
>>153464244I’m poor but also a bit bougie, so I get that. Mostly I want old fashioned things because a lot of them last longer and don’t need to be replaced as much. This movie is so emasculated that Jessie will be the one riding a real horse and guiding all the toys, while Woody and Buzz will ride small, effeminate toy ponies.
>>153466415We know, in fact, that Woody and Buzz support LGBT+ and Woody, in particular, was present at the women's liberation marches of the 60s.Woody literally said this:>Bo, times have changed, you are empowered and you deserve it, and who am I to define your happiness? You are free to experiment with new plastics from other toys. And Buzz considers himself bisexual.
>>153466695>IT'S MRS NESBITT
>>153466741There's a canonical dialogue between Buzz and Mr. Potato Head: Mr. Potato Head was arguing with Rex about him being too effeminate. Buzz arrives and says, "What's wrong with being effeminate?" Mr. Potato Head replies, "There are girl toys and boy toys." Buzz explains, "No. Those are heteronormative standards. Boy toys can be feminine and vice versa. What's wrong with Bonnie using me to drink tea? And what's wrong with me liking boy toys too? Jessie knows this."

>>153464924Lots of toys with changeable batteries in the 90s, it's just the action figure sized ones would be watch batteries and have a screw fassened cover.
There was a deleted scene from TS4 where Woody calls the toys to a meeting and makes a statement about white supremacy and misogyny:>I humbly apologize to the dolls for the centuries of sexism and misogyny regarding the dichotomy of boys' toys vs. girls' toys. It's also necessary to talk about how for centuries patriarchal white supremacy dominated toys Why did Buzz have to be white? Why not African-American or Mexican cowboys? Andy represented the retrograde figure because he was white and heterosexual.Mr. Potato Head gets angry and tells Woody to shut up. And Woody calls him out and says: >Your family represents these problems. Why Mrs. Potato Head? Why not two Mrs. Potato Heads or two Mr. Potato Heads? Family isn't just a man and a woman.
