>casually mogs every attempt Toho has made at an animated Godzilla
>>153457260The only attempts they made were basically for small children, though. They weren't remotely trying to do the same thing.
>>153457310Most are, but there were attempts recently to make something serious. The anime trilogy and singular point were absolutely not made with children in mind. That upcoming Godzilla boy superhero thing might be though I’ll give you that.
>>153457353I honestly completely forgot about those. I was thinking of stuff like Godzilland, and Chibi Godzilla.
>>153457260Love this series; Chameleon was one of the best mutations. Also Monique is best girl
>>153457486I love how Chameleon is such a fucked up looking creature, like a chest mouth, eye shoulders and its head is essentially a deformed orifice. I was always partial to Crackler since being a living psionic entity born from a man's repressed frustration is cool but it's design is also delightfully bizarre with its array of limbs and Cloverfield/Orga esque posture plus a fun cackle for a roar.
>>153457260>that one episode where the fat neckbeard went to japan and got a japanese waifu, also it's an akira ripoffthe only good things about this and mib were the intros
>>153457758Nope
>>153457728Crackler is probably the best creature design from the series, what a freak.
>should we make a show that the fans have been asking for that’s a super simple and easy to do premise?>no, we need more subversive Godzilla showsWhy is Toho like this?
>>153457810Singular Point was fine, more underdog JJ would've helped though
>>153457810Even Toho's worst is better than whatever the fuck Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is. Thats an entire NTR drama with only 30 seconds of monster focus per episode.
>>153457929But that’s not what we are talking about, are we?
>>153457861Season 2, if it ever happened, would be about creating a new Godzilla to save reality from a multiversal Destoroyah that was created by the Orthogonal Diagonalizer
>>153457790Yeah guy has everything, great colour scheme, fun design silhouette and he's just quintessential Fil Barlow monster design. It's a shame the Bandai Movie monster series won't ever do figures of the animated series rogues gallery.
>>153457947You mean it would be comprised almost entirely of pseudoscientific monologues which the plebbitors would clap for because it’s so le smart.
>>153457982I want to see the cast travel back to the 1940s and nuke Godzillasaurus themselves, since he needs to be created in a new timeline to exist again
>>153457779Eeyup
>>153457943I don't give a fuck about what you intended to talk about or not. I just hate that show.
>>153457982But Mechagodzilla would be there in the corner also. As much as Singular Point wasn't for me, I did like the designs for Anguirus and Manda.
>>153457260Nah, Singular Point was excellent
>>153457260why did the americans give the city destroying murderous kaiju wide hips, thick thighs and a tight waist
>>153458104>Mecha-G and Jet Jaguar both getting BTFO by Destoroyah
>>153458078>barge into thread>rant about something different>call anons faggots for saying that wasn’t what we are talking aboutYou really summed up 4chan.
>>153457810Because they're trying to catch the anime fans that wouldn't be caught dead watching a more traditionally toku show.
>>153458160
>>153457758wrong. this show was pure kino. what other show will show a giant lizard battle his evil robot mother and kill her
>>153458902Genndy and Dean should make scalie erotica
>>153458947Come to think of it, why did Cyber-Zilla have atomic breath? He didn't when he was alive.
>>153459038cyber zilla's breathe is blue, I always thought that implied the aliens imbued it to her, I mean I understood that as a child anon...
>>153458947>american animationthey should have just made the japanese/ koreans do it
>>153457758idk about godzilla but this is a weak take on mib
>>153459103Yeah they already outfitted Cyber-Zilla with a whole new arm, missile launchers, and tons of other shit. They probably either gave it atomic breath through cybernetics or genetic manipulation since Godzilla already has it. Like unlocking the right gene sequence or something I’m not a geneticist
>>153459208are you suggesting that MIB was on par with other action cartoons of the era like BTAS?
>>153457260the intro is utter kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b2CtgkwJQAits crazy kids today dont have saturday morning cartoons
>>153459285I just heard the whole damn thing in my head before even watching the video. Holy shit.
>>153457758The man with no taste, Godzilla the Series genuinely still holds up and what little of MIB I watched with friends was quite solid. Extreme Ghostbuster was another cartoon of the time, with Fil Barlow also doing design like for GTAS, that still holds up writing and art style wise.
>>153457790series had amazing kaiju, here is a stillframe of the trasheatar from s1ep4
>>153459280>BTASweird jump but okill just reiterate from the btas threadand say nobody watched your show
>>153459360same episode, its trying to xmas wrap zilla
>>153459360Honestly it was impressive how even the Kaiju that were just giant version of an animal were made very unique and visually striking due to Fil Barlow being a master of making charmingly grotesque details and texture for monsters.
>>153459312completely average action cartoons that get mogged by BTAS and (lmao) gargoyles>>153459361wrong, i did
>>153459381incase no one believed me
>>153457758>also it's an akira ripoffLol, this retard didn't even watch the show. That episode was a send up of Godzilla vs King Kong, complete with a giant robot gorilla standing in for Kong.
>>153459404one of those episodes is an akira ripoff, i don't have an eidetic memory of a show i thought was mediocre
>>153459404oh wow, totally not an akira ripoff!!!
>>153459280BTAS was the top show, you can't compare everything to it.
>>153457790And a pretty interesting origin as well.>Some blue collar randy's bottled up anger manifesting into its own monster
>>153459438the top show of its era, but also with some really shit episodes
>>153459458Japanese salarymen would spawn millions of those things
>>153459514Fucking Jonah hex episode was the WOOOORST
>>153458902....its a dude?but......the eggs.......i coomed to so many drawings...
>>153459675nah the worst one was when batman got amnesia worked in a mine. or the furry episode. or any of the gangster episodes. i take it back, the show was awful
>>153457790I don't care what people say: I adore the prevalence of "gorilla proportions"/"long arms" in American monsters. It's a shame that it just gets dunked on as being "generic" or "uninspired" due to being seen often, when instead it should be viewed as a local cultural trend that's honestly kinda intriguing in how popular it became within the region despite seemingly little reason for it. Although, granted, not necessarily entirely the case with Crackler because he's designed by an Aussie, but it was for an American cartoon shut up
>>153459870I don't have a problem with gorilla arms. I do, however, have a problem with basically copying Cloverfield. The creatures in The Tomorrow War are a good example.
>>153459427I wish this thing had gotten more than one episode, I think it and the replicator thing were the only monsters that were actually intelligent.
>>153460290Honestly the White Spikes from Tomorrow War are way too good for that film. They are honestly one of the cooler versions of the feral alien horde and I like that they seem honestly smarter then most of the cast despite being snarling creatures. Also I'd say they are one of the more unique variations of modern monster design, I think the Quiet Place monsters are essentially the barest bones version of that creature bodytype there is.
>>153459391Why don't you go to a BTAS or Gargoyles thread instead of burdening us with your pseudo-intellectual fart huffing.
>>153459458Honestly Crackler being essentially a Kaiju tulpa manifested by the sheer repressed frustration of the man makes it not only a unique monster but also opens a lot of fun possibilities in its allegorical usage if it was used more. It's also cool that what makes it vulnerable was Randy getting the guy to just finally openly let out his frustration and essentially weakening Crackler's physical form.
>>153460860nothing there is even remotely intellectual or pseudointellectual, because this is a discussion about children's cartoons that i actually watched growing up, zoomzoom. i know /co/mblr doesn't tolerate dissent or criticism normally, but what i'm saying is on-topic
>>153460960You aren't giving any actual concrete criticism, you are just acting like a faggot in a thread.
>>153461005>the only good things about this and mib were the intros>american animationthat's at least two specific critiques, which puts it above I WIKE GODZWILLA AND HWIS FWAME BWEATH!!! shit the rest of you are saying
>>153457310So was the OP’s cartoon.
>>153461164He meant stuff like Godzilland and Chibi Godzilla which are more preschool aimed media rather then something like Godzilla the Series being aimed a TV-Y7/PG audiences.
>>153459427>>153460690On an odd trivia note, the original idea for the Heisei Mechagodzilla was very similar to the Techno-Sentient. "Godzilla vs Berserk" was to be about an alien entity that assimilates metal before taking the form of Earth's dominant life form, Godzilla.
The Silver Hydras from the mine episode, another great creature.
>>153459427>arrives on Earth>reads the Internet>decides to nuke the Middle East>refuses to elaborate
>>153459748You didn't watch the film?
>>153461879Also the only Kaiju in the show to be hard confirmed as having killed anyone.
