Okay, so Paramount+ has this thing where, if you select Rugrats, you'll find a list of, what they claim to be, the most iconic episodes of the series, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it.
>Tommy's First Birthday
>Reptar on Ice/Family Feud
>The Santa Experience
>The Last Babysitter/Sour Pickles
>A Visit from Lipschitz/What Big People Do
>Rugrats Mother's Day
>Rugrats Chanukah
>The Turkey Who Came to Dinner
>Chuckie's Duckling/A Dog's Life
>The First Cut/Chuckie Grows

Well I don't really have the names of Rugrats episodes memorized I'd probably add the Chuckie "It's a wonderful life" parody and the episode where Angelica thinks she's having a new baby brother. Probably whatever episode they introduce Susie's family in too.
>>
Wild that show is almost as old as me. I mean fuck, I remember watching it back in 93.

Didi looks so fucking hot with just that bathrobe on

The simpsons is one year older than me. I'm sure most people here are younger than the yellow family
>>

I will never understand why Betty being a feminist meant she needed to be a lesbian in the CGI reboot. I mean I understand why they did it for a political reason, but not for any practical in-universe reason. Maybe his hair was too hard to model.
>>
>>153462129
There's no reason other than tomboyish woman = dyke. Betty and Howard's relationship was more interesting (and probably more progressive) than her just being a lesbian

Wanting Betty to be a dyke when she's meant to be a dick sucking slut who drains Howard every night.

Where's the anon that made the adults only (not THAT kind of "adults only") supercut? I hear the adults were the best part of Rugrats, especially pre-Dill.
>>
>>
>>153459582
i recenetly rewatched the first movie for the first time in years. was surprised how good it was. i mean i knew i loved rugrats and it was a good show back in the day but i still liked it as an adult which was surprising.
a shame about all the jew crap
>>
>>153463193
What jew crap?

Yeah, I had the same feelings about the thornbwrry crossover movie. Rugrats really step it up for the movies.
>>
>>153463206
tommy was jewish on his mothers side and they force fed them into jew crap
>>
>>153463312
I'm naware Didi is jewish, I don't remember it in the movie.
>>
>>153459582
Are those all pre-dil episodes
>>
>>153463469
Nta, but best I can come up with is the small line about circumcision, and Boris and Minka show up briefly.

Also, and this is a stretch: some people allege that there are parallels between the part where Tommy almost kills Dil, and the story of Abraham and Isaac.
>>
>>153466464
more like cain and abel
>>
>>153466686
Yeah, I can see that too. But the part where Tommy stops and does not go through with it can kinda be seen like god staying his hand, and thus a little more Abraham.
>>
>>153466969
no that's called it is a child cartoon and tommy isn't actually going to murder his baby brother and have the parents march out of the theater and demand their money back
>>
>>153467012
It’s also a children’s cartoon and the writers possibly weren’t trying to make any biblical allusions in the first place, so there’s no correct interpretation here.
>>
>>153467097
That or just monkey murder
>>
>>153467133
As a kid, I thought they were getting at Tommy believing the monkeys would carry Dil away and raise him as one of their own.

As an adult who has learned about monkey and chimp violence and instances of them literally eating infants, the scene is terrifying.
>>
>>153467097
yeah except you're retarded and children's cartoons have adult themes and allusions constantly. and rugrats literally has a history of reference to judaism. sorry you're literally retarded RIP
>>
>>153465373
No, "Chuckie's Duckling/A Dog's Life" is the only post-movie episode on the list, and it's Dil's first episodes.
>>
>>153467502
I really do just see both interpretations as equally valid/invalid. I get how, on its surface, the scene looks like one brother killing his brother out of hate and jealousy because the little brother’s existence is fucking up his life. I can see the parallel between Caine and Abel here.

But if you really want me to try a stronger case at what I see in the Abraham and Isaac reading (which I did not come up with personally), then fine.
>Tommy and Dil’s relationship starts with Tommy loving Dil and actually wanting him
>Tommy repeatedly stands up for Dil
>outside forces suggest that Tommy get rid of Dil, but he’s reluctant
>when Tommy finally changes his mind, he rationalizes the decision as being best for “everyone,” not just himself
>he basically sees his and the people around him’s lives getting so fucked up as proof that the universe wants him to ditch his brother and that he is doing the right thing
>then, miraculously, he sees his reflection, and last minute does not go through with it
I can see this series of events as a little more Abraham/Isaac.
>>
>>153467705
this is just beyond retarded of a shoehorn
also,
>tommy loses his best friend
>dil eats all the stuff
>steals his blanket
odd how only then does he almost kill him after he reaches a boiling point. oh yeah btw they are literally brothers not father and son. you're not special for disregarding the obvious and contriving some crap to fit your fedora narrative.
>>
>>153462236
Howard wasn't a very prominent character but he was always really good with the twins and I thought him being a wormy little guy was funny, especially in the episode where the DeVille's and Pickles were feuding and he was trying to be tough.
>>
It's the 35 year anniversary of Rugrats this August and no one cares.
>>
>>153472146
shouldn't have ruined it like they do to everything else then

Remember when Rugrats used to be Nick's biggest merch maven?
>>
>>153474304
What the hell was the difference between postkids and normal post?
>>
>>153474462
One's for kids while the other isn't, duhhh
>>
>>153459582
It needs "Chuckie's Wonderful Life" probably one of my favorite of the "It's a Wonder life" episodes of any series. While exaggerated, it does make a great way of showing why Chuckie is important to the rest of the cast in how his role fits.
>>
>>153462965
fun crossover movie
>>
>>153462121
That would make sense, though despite being two years older than the yellow family myself, I still encounter people of my age group on here who remember how things used to be, which is refreshing. With Rugrats, it manifests in how we remember when Rugrats was THE big Nick show by which all others were judged. While not as big as the Simpsons obviously, if you grew up in the 90s you knew about Rugrats if not watched and enjoyed it.
