Why doesn't she have more fanart?
She was pointless in the move other than to showWho the mom is
>>153466264She looks like that
>>153466264Because VB is very niche
>>153466264be the change you want to see
>>153466264>bisexual genderbent hankNot with a stolen dick.
>>153466264You can ask that of any VB girl that isn't Dr. Mrs. The Monarch
>>153466359looks similar to Triana Orpheus who was also very bangable. Between her, Triana, and Dr. Girlfriend, it seems that Doc and Jackson have a thing for Retrousse noses.

>>153466345Shame too, would have been fun seeing S8 slowly show us that her org was even dumber than the Guild and ultimately all she did was inconvenience Sheila
>>153466715No, she looks like Hank because of the obvious...
>>153466345She's the best part, what are you talking about? Her invisibility feels like a meta-commentary of the show's female rep outside of Dr. Mrs. Monarch. And she's definitely a step-up compared to Sirena.
>>153470738Also she's definitely where Hank gets his Hanknfrom.
>>153466264because I know a lot of Venture Bros fans but I can count the number of people I know who actually saw the film on one hand. A lot of them didn't even know it existed until I told them.

>>153466704To this day I don't understand why they thought giving a man tits (twice, counting Gathers) was funny.
>>153466264Pig snouts did not in fact take off as a character design trend
>>153467550Literally my first thought
>>153472202It's like Rebecca Sugar thinking crying is funny, some creators really need to be taken aside and told "if that were actually funny you wouldn't be the only person doing it"
>>153472268I recall some anon doing cry count in SU threads and it was at the very least 2/3 of entire show having someone crying. As for VB I'm unsure if it's my foreign ass or was Hatred hard to understand half of the time.
>>153467985I would have liked this s8, but I read here that supposedly it was going to be about Hank traveling and if that was true I'm not interested, I'm happy with what we got
>>153472202Unironically it was a different time and it was a time where you could have a running gag about how much of a deplorable pedophile a character wasSgt.Hatred is one of those characters you either really like right away or have to grow to appreciate over time. At least he's not as bad as those dwarfs
>>153472391Hank isn't strong enough of a character to carry a season. At this point in time neither him or Dean had much to do outside of the shitty cheating drama. If they wanted to focus on Hank it would be completely baffling writing decision
>>153472415He's just ok, but neither him or the Captain ever felt to me as essential characters. They just... stuck around for some reason. With cast as huge as VB you could really get rid off some of the bloat. I'd rather have JJ than either of them to be honest. The Moppets were also a strange leftover, having no redeeming qualities staying alive purely by Sheila's nostalgic drive.
>>153472519>I'd rather have JJ than either of them to be honestStrange that we never had more than a few episodes of him. I guess the writers figured having a "I'm better than you and I accidentally flaunt it constantly" dynamic between JJ and Rusty would have been boring after a while>The Moppets were also a strange leftover, having no redeeming qualities staying alive purely by Sheila's nostalgic drive.Good thing they died. VB's writing being as loose and open as possible so the writers could do whatever was both an advantage and a detriment because then characters like The Moppets or Sgt.Hatred's man boobs stick around for too long
>>153470738Man, this is some great concept art.>Dat bottom left expressionKinda really makes me wish it was animated by Bobby Pills.
I liked Debbie, but personally I liked her mom better. I think both of them really got gypped by not having their season done in full to flesh them out
>>153472581I would really enjoy having some moments with him and Hank and Dean. Maybe he could be some positive influence on the boys, an counterweight for Brock in a way with different values. But yeah, some shit really overstate it's welcome, seargent mantits definitely being one of those thingsI'm mixed on Billy and White, they really started being enjoyable after St Claud showed up, but before that they were just kinda weird and awkard
>>153472706Billy and White were Rusty's "friends". Billy was sort of involved in the System, mostly because people kept kidnapping him for underground surgery and White being an intelligent computer scientist bum who was only "involved" in the system because he hung around BillyWhen it came to St. Claud I think the idea was for Billy and White to be another set of people who thought the whole Superhero thing was cool and wanted to be a part of it but realized how utterly annoying and potentially life-threatening that life style can be when you have a professional stalker intentionally trying to annoy you. Basically to reinforce the idea that the system is retarded and not something you want to be a part of
>>153466264Because as much as we want to deny it, nobody watched the Venture Bros. movie except Venture Bros. fans...
>>153466769Not a looker but she does have a nice voice, I always liked Triana's voice.
>>153472202It is funny. It starts in What Color is Your Cleansuit? and doesn't go away at the end. It's a little mystery that gets them on board the OSI helicarrier in OSI Love You mid-season. That gets the strength suit onto the helicarrier, because OSI gave Hatred his powers and the means to control his urges. It's a writer's shell-game, moving pieces around without obviously doing so as to foreshadow exactly what will happen. Then he I guess gets breast reduction surgery, although I always figured they took the super soldier junk out of him so he could stop taking the nomolestol too, because he hits the wall pretty hard in the last couple of seasons. Aside from one moment where he tells Doc that he sometimes gets turned on by his own breasts, it's never anything like a trans allegory or whatever. He just has manboobs.>>153472652Absolutely. And I know the story is done pretty much but damn the other day I had this thought that they could do a pure flashbacks season, if only to get some more Dr Z episodes. Dr Z arching Jonas would be the best.
They go through hoops and ladders to undo Sgt.Hatred's pedophilia but kept him a jobber who gets his shit rocked by a skinny dude who can clone himselfKind of a raw deal
You are supposed to watch Venture Bros. for the men.
>>153473602didn't stop people from jerking off to dr girlfriend and molotov
>>153473531>pure flashbacks seasonThey could make a season of the Rusty Venture TV show. Show us the image most people got presentes of Jonas Sr. and kid Rusty, with some darker subtext that we'd catch on to since we know shit about Jonas's nature, Blue Morpho, Rusty's trauma/cloning, etc. You can do that faux-VHS effect that the kids are into nowadays, maybe shorter episodes with cheaper animation (it was a cartoon in-universe, right?).
>>153472519eh i really liked hatred. he was a weird choice to promote to main cast but they made it workfuck the midgets though they should have been killed off in one ep
>>153466264Mantilla just sounds like the most bootlegged name for an Invisible Woman knockoff. Just sounds like they were running out of ideas.
>>153473720I like it because it also has the wordplay of mantle which hints at her being the true heir to the guild (taking up the mantle)
>>153473602>for the men.MY MEN!
>>153472202>To this day I don't understand why they thought giving a man tits (twice, counting Gathers) was funny. In the case of Hunter, it's because at the time making fun of trannies was still socially acceptable. In the case of Hatred, it was literally humiliation ritual. Hatred was basically becoming a maternal figure for Hank and Dean and they gave him breasts to make fun of that. One thing you have to remember is that Doc and Jackson didn't make the show to appeal to a wide audience or even a niche audience, they made the show for themselves. The fact that it has an audience at all is entirely coincidental from their perspective. So they put shit in that they think is funny and they thought giving Hatred boobs because he became the boys' surrogate mother was funny.

>>153472357it doesn't help that SU seemed to want to eschew the idea of physical fighting solving any problems, so big arcs tended to be solved with Steven giving a tearful lecture. Also, his crying healed shit. Lot's of crying in that show.
>>153472357Most of the cast has some sort of weird accent or vocal mannerism, so it makes sense that you'd have trouble understanding at least one character.
>>153472415I think a lot of what happened in VB was because it entertained Doc and Jackson specifically. They essentially made the show to amuse themselves and whoever was on board was on board. They liked Sgt. Hatred because they'd both have fun doing the voice while they were out drinking. They talk about that in the dvd commentary. "I just GOTTA get a package of CORN chips"
>>153466264pig noses are ugly
>>153477010Two possibilities in my mind: They actually were running out of ideas and burning out which means any additional seasons would have likely been hated anyway. In which case, calling it quits before that was admirable. There's some shit that was going to come out if they kept the show going. Instead of having something very public and career ending coming out, they got ahead of it and just axed the show so they could live to fight another day.
>>153478921I don't even understand the hate behind calling it quits for SF. I feel like at this point the show already overstayed its welcome and if the showrunners want to quit, let them. Save the money for some other new show. The only ones who got truly screwed over were the rookies who were told to move for the job though.
>>153478921it's absolutely an in-office thing, probably attendance/output related, it almost always ispeople who don't turn up are even less tolerable than people who do turn up but treat everybody like shit while they're there, but only if the people who turn up are putting in workyounger creators in particular tend to fall into the trap of thinking they have x money and x time, when it's really one or the other; during showtime it's money you can't really spend except on a nice meal or a better car or whatever, outside of showtime it's having all the time in the world until your money runs outcontracting is a bitch to get right, but if you don't, you get shitcanned
>>153479124>the rookies who were told to move for the job thoughThat does really fucking suck for them. Now they're in a new city with very few connections, and virtually no job experience at a time when industry gigs are already hard to come by.

>>153466264Do you think she's aware the Venture twins are hers?
>>153480527
>>153481646I think so since Bobbi seems to understand what they are to her. Plus it’s just the natural conclusion you draw when someone like Rusty comes to you and asks for your eggs and then suddenly has kids which I’m sure she knows about if she’s kept in touch with her mom
>>153481646If she's aware that they exist, maybe. But she's genuinely not interested. Hank and Dean's interaction with Bobbi St. Simone, she seems to kind of care but keeps a distance

>>153482257They were supposed to be kind of candy-assed. The original concept was that they'd be like if the Hardy Boys actually existed in real life. That's Jackson Public's whole shtick which stems from his work on The Tick. We see things in narratives like supervillains with ridiculous costumes and just accept them because the comics they're in allow for suspension of disbelief, but it's funnier to see them trying to take the subway or whatever. That intent is more obvious in the earlier episodes, but while the series ended up later taking on a life of it's own, the naivete of the boys (which can come across as kind of gay in modern contexts) remained to a certain degree.
>>153482327I still haven't watched the last season OR the movie. I fucking love the show and have been a huge fan since the episodes first started airing while I was in high school, but I can't bring myself to finish it because I know once I do there won't be any more. >>153483693 Can somebody explain to me why pink flamingos and rock horror picture show are so celebrated among doc and jackson's generation? I genuinely dont see the appeal
>>153483834Rocky Horror was the Morbius of it's time. It's fun to go to with friends, drink a bit, and enjoy people trash talking a dumb movie with decent music. No idea about Pink Flamingos as I haven't seen it
>>153483834They were shocking at the time. Most of use grew up with the internet and are too young for shock to really hit anymore.
>>153483834I guess that people thought that gender freaks were interesting. Literal freaks, I don't want to watch PF, I already read its synopsis and its disgusting. Dog shit. David Bowie was one of the biggest pop culture stars and he also had a little bit of that. Probably the fact that it was considered a big taboo back then fueled that interest. And just like the other anon said, that shock isn't present anymore. Now not many people yearn for that. At most they want sissies and butches but not because of a shock
>>153483834Along with what other anons said about Pink Flamingos and Rocky Horror being shocking for their time, there's also the element of them having crossover appeal between normies, queers, freaks, etc. These midnight screenings were a party like atmosphere where someone who might be awakening to their own queerness could have fun but also have a degree of plausible deniability cause it was this freak show.
>>153472124>Could beAnon, did you watch the movie
>>153483684Well, I know what a Rusty Venture is now.
>>153483834Both Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pink Flamingos (as well as most of the John Waters oeuvre) were examples of indie trash cinema. They operated on the fringe of cinema with super low budgets and celebrated some of the trashier elements of shock and exploitation film. They were the cinematic equivalence in the 80s as punk rock was to the music scene of the 70s. Similarly, you can listen to some of the celebrated punk rock bands from the 70s and think, "the guitar playing sucks, the recording quality is awful, and even as far as the disrespectful shock aspects of the scene goes, it's all kind of cliche. There are bands that go way further" and you'd be right. But we need to understand media in historical context. There are undeniable "queer" elements to Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pink Flamingos, but that didn't necessarily equal "gay" at the time. It was shocking and counterculture and while there was a gay aspect to the way that some people did it (Boy George, or Pete Burns from Dead or Alive), there were plenty of straight males who dressed in drag as a sort of way to be shocking. Twisted Sister, Brian Eno, Eddie Izzard, etc. Wearing women's clothing and wearing lipstick was a way to piss old people off. Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pink Flamingos were an extension of that zeitgeist. They were never big films despite enduring and gaining generations of cult film followers. They're sensational and exploitive in the way a lot of cult films are. For the people who lived through the 80s as adolescents or young adults, they were fun films that were symbols of resisting the status quo. And like most cult films (Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Olga's Girls, The Switchblade Sisters, Cannibal Holocaust), while the thrilling elements are what audiences initially latched onto, there's sociopolitical reasons for why those films made waves at that specific time in history that causes people to examine them more carefully.

>>153482208>we missed out on a full season of thisRealistically we only missed out on one episode that covered the founding and early history of the Guild. Which is still terrible since it was condensed into what, like ninety seconds?
>>153487277If you drew her mom that would rule and you would have my gratitude.
>>153487675please that's nothing George Lucas condensed three movies into "years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars"
>>153487675Considering the problem light spanned a couple of episodes, I could see the Bobbi reveal being spaced out across at least 3 episodes in between some other plotline
>>153484125Yeah, I did. They never explicitly say that Debra is their biological mother. They never even state that she donated eggs to fertilize for Rusty's artificial womb. They heavily imply it, but not outright confirm it. Just like they did with Myra. Doc and Jackson did it so that they had more than enough wiggle room to go a different direction if they ever go back to it and have other ideas. So yes, Debra COULD be their mother. Saying that she is their mother, as though it's a matter of fact, is reaching.
>>153488219I get what you’re saying, but calling it a reach on the level of Myra being their mother is a bit of an over exaggeration. Especially when you agree that it was strongly implied that Debbie donated her eggs. Why would the go through all the trouble to introduce both Bobbi and Debbie in the finale if it wasn’t supposed to be? Keep in mind that even the canned season 8 was supposed to be the final season of the show as well
>>153488319>Why would the go through all the trouble to introduce both Bobbi and Debbie in the finale if it wasn’t supposed to be?Because they can. If they wanted Debra to be their mother, Doc and Jackson would've wrote it that way. But they didn't. They went with implications exactly like they did with Myra and a bunch of other stuff because they like having wiggle room for if they change their minds later. So yes, given how we know they write, it is a reach to say she is until it's confirmed she is their biological mother.
>>153466264Because she was introduced and then shooed off stage in an unfortunately rushed film that was forced to try and wrap up the VB story in just over an hour. She had very little over all impact, serving mostly as rushed villain with the only really critical part being that she was the egg donor for Hank and Dean. Her vendetta against the guild and her desire to take her rightful place are all explained and resolved in the last quarter of the movie with little to no fanfare. Honestly, I really wanted Sheila to beat her into the ground for entrapping and endangering The Monarch and 21.Everyone's said it a million times but I'll say it again, this should have been full season. Each story beat feels like it should have had its own episode to explain it and give it breathing room. As it stands, it all just feels rushed and half baked. It's not that movie is bad, it's more that it could have been so much better if Doc and Jackson had been given another season or even just another movie length feature.

They could have also used someone to tell them that they should lean into fan favorite characters and story types.Letting autistic perfectionist creators run wild is as devastating for a show as studio meddling, just in different ways. There should be a balance between paint by numbers for max income and pure artistic vision with zero care for popularity or profitability.

>>153503178Own thing. Though I don't know how the story can continue from there, since it was still close to the finishing line anyway.
>>153502595Consistent character proportions was never the series strong suit.
>>153503178Own thing, but would probably incorporate some of the stuff they couldn't fit into the movie. Although I could only see another season as kind of an epilogue after everything in the movie and the season before it.

>>153502080>flowing hair>healthy relationship with his loving wife>big baboon dick>loyal best friend>not beaten down by family trauma>surrounded by wealth>living his dreams every dayMonarch? Won.
>>153503237There's always room for something else, but I think they'd definitely be better off closing the few open plot threads.
If the Monarch's cocoon fortress flies, why not just make it look like a butterfly?
>>153507616why would a butterfly be inside a larger butterfly? you're not making any sense
>>153507616Because that's gay!
>>153499619t. Dean
>>153507982How is it gayer than dressing like a butterfly in knee high socks and a narrow crown with a legion of henchmen also geared up in butterfly costumes?
>>153503812>Although I could only see another season as kind of an epilogue after everything in the movie and the season before it.Huh. That can work. Maybe a miniseries? (In the sense of it being longer than the movie but shorter than a 10-episode season.)
