Who`s your favorite superhero, /co/, and why?
>>153467063Probably Hal Jordan, funny enough.>hotshot cocky personality makes him interesting while still being relatable enough to serve as an audience surrogate>him being reckless and stubborn helps explain his crazy power level, since Lantern Rings run on willpower>great supporting cast in Carol Ferris, Sinestro, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Kilowog, Salakk, and so onWally West is another great one. Thoughtful and introspective, but also has a temper. The Mark Waid/Geoff Johns run starring him is fantastic.
>>153467063Batman or Judge Dredd. Both for the detectiveness and the bleak outlooks.
>>153467337Ditto on Hal Jordan.
>>153467063>>153467337So you're a pedo, got it!
Hal is up there for me, top 5. Starlord has weirdly grown on me tooI keep racking my brain and I think it's DaredevilHe's just the most complete character in comics.
>>153467983He’s a goodie.
Aquaman. As someone who suffers from having negative charisma I find him relatable.
>>153468201I thought his golden age adventures were interesting, they made me realize that his design was meant to be submerged.
>>153467063I don't get how people can like a character that's written so differently by all these different writers.
>>153468201Him and Batman are the most interesting JLA members.
>>153469999He's Flash Gordon with a power ringhe's whip smart, he fucks, he's the best of humanity
>>153467364Nudge Dredd isn’t a superhero
>>153467063Kyle Rayner, I just like the idea of a creative Green Lantern who makes his constructs needlessly detailed, but in a non-engineering way like John Stewart.
>>153470238feels like it's forgotten that Hal Jordan's original concept was a Yeager-esque aviator/aerospace engineer who was grounded
>>153467063>>153467337Hal's great but you forgot that his personal life is a mess, that's a pretty big consistent factor in his character and a reason I always found him relatable and charming. Imagine being friends with fucking Superman no shit you'd have nightmares about him criticizing you not having your life together
>>153470194I've only read the Johns version, which is a lot contrivances (where he gets an upper hand just because) and the story telling you he's so good. Is there another version of the character you're thinking of?
>>153471855his entire first decade, the John Broome/Gardner Fox years has him as a goofy but capable superhero
>>153470194Hes a 1:1 ripoff of the Lenseman who was a goofy Saturday morning cartoon character with Alan Scott's powerset fir decades.
>>153471984Oh shit.
>>153471984Alan was the goofy Saturday morning character, Lensmen is proto star wars.
>>153467063>shy>catholic>gay>mentally ill>canonically follows people around like a puppy if they are nice to him>four horrible to abusive parents in order from best to worst: mentally ill mom who tried to kill him later who first gave him up for adoption, douchebag dad ignores him and favors his sister openly the first time they meet until he almost got killed for it, adoptive mom who took his brother and left him with an abusive drunk, abusive drunk who physically and emotionally abused him>daddy issues from this>canonically has a badly executed corruption arc >superhero outfit is actually very slutty (pic related)Obsidian is literally perfect
Safe and cliche answer but it's Superman. The older I get the more I like me some aspirational paragons of justice and right.
>>153470211You must not have read much Judge Dredd.
>>153467063Jack Knight Starman.
>>153467063Conceptually I think it's Silver Surfer, but I never really read much of his stuff. In practice, probably old-school Spider-man. I like the personality faults he has.
>>153468201>negative charismaMaybe you are legitimately autistic and you are unaware of the pitch of your voice and your motor skills.
>>153477001This. Also Huntress Helena Bertinelli>has a job that tries to prevent crime>designs best Batgirl costume>is best Batgirl>Catholic>member in the three best versions of the Justice League>has the right idea about dealing with criminals>self-hating slut
>>153477040>how do I pay the bills and fight crime every night?
>>153477153No, Black Manta's the one with autism
>>153475251do you find him relatable
>>153477040>Silver SurferOf what I've read, nothing is good. I like him conceptually too.
>>153477153No. Growing up I kinda looked like the kid they'd pick to play the bully in live action media. People, even adults, would just assume I was that stock character and try to "make an example of me".
>>153470211>Nudge
>>153477370He just likes subs is all.
>>153467063John was better
>>153475471He comes and goes as a top favorite of mine.
>>153481820Not really.
>>153481922nicec
>>153481922He's okay.
I like Batman :)
>>153485588why
Spider-man because he never shuts the fuck up and annoys everyone with his stupid jokes that only he laughs at and i think that is really funny also Lobo isn't really a hero
>>15347021115 years in the cube for disparaging a Judge scumbag
kyle rayner is the best lanterntim is the best robinbart is the best speedster
>>153477633No but I wanna fuck him
>>153468201I love his outfit and colour palette
Power Girl. She's rough around the edges and doesn't feel the need to put on any airs; she's definitely a hero but doesn't feel the need to pretend to be the ultimate authority on what's right and wrong. She's funny sometimes, too.I also like her backstory of being the last survivor of her entire universe; it's what drew me to her in the first place. It adds a layer of tragedy to her that's hard for others to top and is ripe for storytelling potential. And it's admirable the way she's able to pick herself up and keep moving with her head held high despite it all.
>>153467063you just posted him
