>>153469082Try this on for size https://youtu.be/tXQ8p05MNRM?si=na9Lye3c3vWmHhJp
>>153469082Gnome Show pilot just came out. I liked it well enough.
>>153474688How come so many people sleep on Costco Farenheit? I mean hell just to bring things full circle the guy behind it also did a dozen awesome Pepe shorts.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tq-FfCGm98w
>>153478298I don't get it either. Costco Farenheit is fucking insane to me, how good it looks is simply absurd and every episode looks better than the last, and alongside that it's fucking hilarious, but nobody talks about it and the latest episode didn't do nearly as well as the one with Meow Meow.I assume it's the same reason people sleep on The Looter or something. I'm very nearly the only one on this godforsaken website I've ever seen shilling it despite the fact that it is easily one of the single most gorgeous indie shows I've ever seen.
>>153478691I get the sense people are still figuring out how to build community for guys' focused animation. Everyone and their grandma has already pointed out how glitch shows are designed to appeal to lore autists and queers. Nobody's really figured out a winning formula for straight guys yet. The closest we've come is Space King. All the past examples burn out or crumble under production costs (look at mondomedia).
>>153478781I can agree with that but I feel like there's a bit of soul-selling going on there, necessary of course but one which subverts vision sometimes. I'm a straight guy but not in the Space King market; I like 40k but SK annoys me. I remember a while ago some indie guys like the Cyanide and Happiness team and MeatCanyon advertising for an animation centered streaming service but I dunno if it went anywhere. The Looter isn't really shilled by anyone (except maybe me), even Froginator himself doesn't really go out of his way to. Sublo and Tangy Mustard is made by a professional animator in his spare time and he doesn't seem to shill it, Humans-B-Gone doesn't get any aside from promo videos and social media presence I've seen. Umami IIRC had Interface in movie format shown at animation festivals and he is of all the artists I've listed the most openly commercial IMO, e.g. with his War Thunder animation or his assorted merchandise, but he considers himself just an artist and not an animator per-se, not sure how to feel about him in marketing terms. Mike Carf already seems to be floating around the professional circuit with Jake Renaissance but Bridge Kids doesn't seem to be marketed explicitly. Costco Farenheit got some marketing from Toadburger doing thumbnail and title switches and doing shorts but I think he definitely falls victim to what you mention more specifically than most, he clearly wants his shit out there but hasn't caught peoples' eyes yet.
