Clokey was a pretty with-it guy, very Jim Henson. I think he'd know how to laugh.
I remember this really fun documentary on him after he died, using some archived interview footage, and splicing in some of his characters talking as if they were people, and at one point Gumby's just laughing and blushing as he talks about the time Clokey moved to this nudist camp
and it cuts to Clokey saying "it was -not- a nudist camp. it was a -health- camp."
