>King of the Hill and Futurama used to have 25-episode seasons uninterrupted >now gets two 10-episode "seasons" at a time We understand this is a problem, right? Same goes for Gumball, Adventure Time, and all the other revivals
It's just series in general now, OP.
>>153474747Union VAs are demanding more and more every year. The less studios have to make them speak, the better.
I didn't bother watching the new seasons of KOTH because the few clips I've seen has been Hank being a shill for state-run Saudi Arabian oil companies which I thought was extremely contrived and out-of-character for him. Do we know if the Saudi Government put money into the show's production? Wouldn't surprise me to be honest
>>153474747>25 episodesYou know, the original He-man (RIP Roger Sweet) has 65 episode seasons right? Tiny Toon Adventures first season was 65 episodes. They like to lie by claiming things were "cheaper" back then but the truth is there isn't any talent anymore. Every animator is a shell who can't draw without a computer's help and every writer has google on speed dial. This means an inferior product which leads to lower ratings and lower return on investment.Think about it. They still sell King of the Hill DVDs and Blu-rays. That's passive income yet the suits don't want to make more of it. Why? They know the talent just isn't there and subpar "sequels" harm the brand. See the Animaniacs and Tiny Toon reboots.
>>153474747>now gets two 10-episode "seasons" at a time Because that's just a fake marketing stunt. They order 1 season, 30 episodes, and split it up into three so that they have a longer backlog of content.

Awesome show
>>153474747shit got worse, corpos got greedy, animation got worse, got more rigged, got more cheap, got more lazy, whales got lazy, TV died, creators got old, they got tired, you get 13, or something, and you'll be happy
>>153475771Just the initial syndication run when it was meant to be a one done deal but with many episodes to run on weekdays, then they run on 3 months and then reruns twice, next year if the show got renewed, we got a 20 episode or less season follow up, thats how it was.Syndication died, it was only sustained on life support with localized kodomo or shonnen anime, but outside of those, all kids shows from the 80s and 90s with more then 20 episodes had the QUALITY issue.
>>153474747Those shows were made to reach syndication, they had huge international distribution deals built on that too, that doesn't exist so now they're minimal viable products to get people to subscribe to whatever streaming service for a few months.
>>153475903oh shit, >>153475771 you are famicom..........have you hanged on with tranny smith enough?
>>153474747>Animaniacs season 1 episodes: 65>Animaniacs season 2 episodes: 4The fuck.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AnimaniacsKeep in mind we got 4 more years and 3 more seasons of Animaniacs all with multiple times higher episode counts so it's not like season 2 was just a final season that got cut short before cancellation.
>>153475993I think they had to give the VA's a raise after 69 episodes so they probably cut it there until they decided it was worth it
Water fountain.
>>153474747Low budgets and they spread all the work out making it horribly ineffecient.
>>153475205He doesn't shill for them at all and the Saudi shit barely comes up. It was just a way to get out of having to address whether he voted for Trump. The most lasting impact it actually has is getting Hank to like soccer because he was in awe of how the grass is maintained.Actually, a big problem with the new season is that it doesn't really address a lot of stuff that you'd want to know. What exactly led to Hank getting hooked in with Saudi Aramco? No idea. What's the status of Strickland Propane? No clue beyond Buck being retired and he only shows up in the last episode. None of the regular supporting characters except the Wasanasongs show up so no Octavio or Joe Jack or Reverend Stroup or Dooley or anything. It's actually kind of annoying in that regard.
>>153476560>It was just a way to get out of having to address whether he voted for Trump. This would make sense except there are still ways for Americans to vote while abroad. I don't buy this. It just felt like weird whiplash having Hank namedrop Aramco and Peggy talking about how she likes wearing a Hijab. Kind of soured me from wanting to see more to be honest, it was such a weird first impression even if they don't dwell on it like you're saying they don't.
>>153475771Good artists aren’t willing to work for those pennies offered. Now if you’re good enough you can make money drawing porn or doing your own project.
>>153474760This is a problem across the board now except for very rare occasions, but it's made especially apparent with revivals since you can compare how little is being made in, say, a 5-year period in the 2020s compared to in the '90s, 2000s, and even 2010s. I'm dumbfounded that Warner Bros. Discovery had cold feet about bringing back GUMBALL of all things. A show that used to be able to pump out 40-episode seasons back-to-back-to-back a decade ago now was only allowed to make one 40-episode order before laying everyone off until they could "gauge streaming numbers first" for a renewal. To make matters worse, said 40-episode orders are now being distributed as two 20-episode "seasons," just so the company can make themselves look better. Shit did NOT used to be this way, and I wish people argued against it more.
>>153474747but King of the Hill ended in 2010
