What a nothingburger this turned out to be.
Every American show that tries to have plot twists end up like that. Even one stroke of genius will end up castrated by execs or team unproffesionalism. It's easier for corpo to tell people anime is bad than trying to push the story to their level.
>>153476568Burnt the fries, but damn this burger is tasty.
>>153476504If you ask me Marcy should’ve been shown to have never physically recovered this, she ended up getting everything she wanted in the end and she is the last character to deserve anything good, if not for how annoying she is then because of her ruining her friend’s lives. She’s a burden to everyone around her.
>sees her friend get stabbed with a magic sword>"eh, she's probably fine, let's go crash the mall"
>>153477179season 3 was so bad
>>153477179Let’s be fair Marcy was a huge bitch that manipulated the situation spiriting Anne away from her family on Anne’s birthday. Like yeah it worked out well for Anne in the end, however at first Anne was living in a cave terrified. Marcy had no idea of that annd that this chest would actually spirit them away, which is true but she wanted it to work!
>>153476504It made everything retroactively worse so thats something.
>>153477179I think this was to appease Disney who wanted as little story as possible. This is not how good shows are made.
>>153478428she never resented this, there is no "to be fair she was angry" because she wasn't. you were.
>Mutt>bends the knee to Disney execs and sucks them dry like a dry Thai ladyboy whore the moment they demand anything>gets to keep his show... for a few more episodes... but its soul is drained>Based Dana the Great>never caves to execs, fights them at every turn>show ends early, but on her termsWhich way, DTVAslop Man?
>>153478555Both shit
I actually liked season 3A, but the tonal whiplash between Anne and the Frogs going on cute little SOL adventures and the situation in Amphibia was insane.
>>153478552Anne’s just a doormat who still doesn’t know how to stand up for herself, that’s why she wasn’t mad.

>>153478555All things considered, I think it's safe to say Dana won.
>>153477179I thought it was infuriating she never got in contact with Sasha and Marcy's parents until right before the earth arc ended. You'd think that her coming back would immediately prompt the parents to show up asking about their missing daughters.
>>153478555Didn't her show end up a copy of Amphibia's though? So then it's like>Dana fights the execs>Her show ends up the same as the bootlicker's>She's fired though lmao
>>153476504She tanked that
Disney made Matt downplay the whole thing.
just a scratch
>>153478926The Disney execs wanted more episodic wackytime, which can be easily turned into rerun material and appeals to a wider audience of young kids (Amphibia provided thus), but Owl House wanted to tell a serialized story with minimal fluff instead. That appeals to teenagers and young adults more, which isn't exactly Disney's primary demographic on their channel. Dana ran afoul of the execs this way and refused to budge, so Owl House didn't get the full season 3 that was originally planned.
