If it gets made I'd want it to be as on model as possible. I'm very tired of the chibi look.

A 2009 book still attributed her to Pusztai, though it misspelled his name.
Some of his relatives are still alive, including his niece Jucika who inspired the name of the character, but he had no direct descendants. I wonder if his family knows or cares about who technically owns the comic.
The magazine that last published Jucika strips, Ludas Matyi, went under decades ago. They brought it back in 2023 under a slightly altered name but it was discontinued within a few months due to low sales.

They should have released a collection of her later designs which are her most iconic. They started from the start, which makes sense, but the look and feel of the strips isn't what most people think of when they think of Jucika. Speaking for myself I didn't buy the collection precisely because of that and was hoping they'd print more of the later stuff.

What niece? Proof?

Literally no proof of any of this

It's an old lady on Facebook called Judit. She commented on a few Jucika posts claiming Pusztai was her uncle and shared old photos of him. Not sure if I should share her full name, I don't want people bugging her and I'm not a hundred percent certain that she's the origin of Jucika's name. But it lines up with older comments posted by artists who knew Pusztai, like László Dluhopolszky, who said that Jucika was partially inspired by Pusztai's niece.
Another Hungarian Facebook user called Károly says he's Pusztai's nephew and Judit is his sister. His name allegedly inspired another comic character from the time, Kócos Karcsi. If this is true, it would also align with comic characters being named after Pusztai's relatives. The Karcsi and Jucika strips were both first published at the same time in the same magazine, though the Karcsi comics were cancelled after one year.

To steal, appropriate, and profit off of a character made by a man who cannot consent due to being dead and never saw a cent of profit from his efforts is monstrous. I will never support these uncreative hacks like what this thread's faggot OP has posted.

How old is this?

Posted 6 weeks ago. Sadly, a lot of info relating to Jucika comes from old Facebook users posting personal accounts and memories, since nobody in the past 50 years has tried to make a comprehensive overview of the strips and their history with reliable sources. Jucika faded from Hungarian pop culture after 1970 and no one predicted that anyone would ever become interested in them afterward. So random comments such as there are among the few sources of insight we have. And some of them might be bullshit or just people misremembering things.
Even the anecdote of Pusztai's widow burning all of the original Jucika strips in a fit of rage came from Facebook posts made by 60 and 70+ year old Hungarians who knew Pusztai back in the 60s.
