Sometimes I think I delved too deeply into new layers of fantasy that I never escaped my first descension into the depths of realities that I have circled back around to Star Trek once again, and now everything seems slightly unreal to the point that I don't know if I'm wiping my own butt or someone else's.

Has
Has Star Trek ever addressed how many layers you could pull into a fantasy in a Holodeck
Could you just keep tunneling down
I've never even thought about this before what the fuck

Since its still a computer simulation there likely would be limitations like asking for something so complex the ship would just give an error noise or turn the whole simulation 144p while trying to load everything.
And there could be safety features to prevent this, but considering the like two dozen times holograms have become fully self aware and sometimes resistant I wouldn't say safety features are a sure thing.

>It turns out the whole series is just a holodeck simulation in the end
Imagine

I've never seen Inception, but I assume this is the plot. Special Beam Cannon and all.

Even then the computer could just save space by making static states of the upper layers when the person isn't engaging with them. And given that Star Trek is set hundreds of years future you could probably fit a loooooot of non-rendered data in a computer. In theory you could probably tunnel down thousands of layers of simulations before things started to notably degrade, because the Holodeck wouldn't have to be actively rendering most of them.
>>
>>153485696
Eventually you're pulling too much energy and the simulation would become less convincing.
>>
it's amazing how his star trek character writing/drawing ranges from 'fine I guess' to 'dead fucking on perfect'
I could HEAR Bashir talking last time.

also I often used to think about how you could do holodeck superpowers, like how would it know what you're trying to do? and then I realized it would HAVE to work on DBZ rules where you do a specific movement and call out attacks, so the computer understood.
>>
>>153485696
Lower Decks did show us that, by following a random NPC and essentially asking him to generate a new quest for you, the shit can continue on infinitely even in a premade program. The computer can at LEAST run two totally separate things at once, which probably explains how they can get by with only a couple holodecks.

in tng we see the holodeck supposedly perfectly simulate brilliant minds of the past, and even some currently living ones
and further on in voyager, we see holograms 'become solid' and live outside of the holodeck
at that point, why does the federation need to put fleshy beings in harm's way ever again? just send ships out across the cosmos completely ran by AI with hologram ambassadors
>>
It's so tragic what happened to this comic.
>>
>>153487015
We get some episodes like that in Voyager.

Something fucky would happen just on account of them being a slave race.

>>153485794
I don't know what you're talking about, Terra Prime was the last episode of Enterprise.
>>
>>153485794
Enterprise kind of did that
>>
>>153485696
There was an episode about that. NPC-turned-sentient Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes wants to escape the holodeck, so he has the holodeck create a holodeck within itself. He "leaves" the holodeck into the rest of the "ship", then challenges the cast to figure out how he did it, so he apply whatever solution they come up with in the real world.
There's a neat clue that the Enterprise they're on is part of the holodeck: there are no establishing shots/scene breaks showing the outside of the ship during the trick.

I've never understood this complaint. Why do people think THE WHOLE SERIES was a holodeck simulation? It's very clear in the episode that only THAT episode was one.
I know some people are exaggerating, but I've others that legit think the whole series was fake.

Because of st. Elsewhere ending making it and half the shows in the 80's/90's take place in the mind of an autistic kid

I don't really see it much different from worlds in VRChat. You've got zany avatars, props and effects, and these can apply regardless of world you visit.

The whole series IS fake. It's a tv show.

Imagine Conundrum without human judgement. Even if the ships were unarmed, a lot of diplomatic problems could be caused if someone malicious got control of one.

Because of Vinesauce showing that one porn parody of Star Trek TNG with all the porn removed, I can't not think of Picard saying one word. CUM

Ronnie is an OG CHAD and not a Remake NERD I see.
>>
>>153487399
I wouldn't mind if the entire series was a broad strokes holodeck intepretation of an actual historical era. There's lots of retcons I can stick into Enterprise then that would fix a lot of things that annoyed me about it.

I should, God forgive me, allow Brannon Braga his nonsense.

I'm not a big Star Trek guy, but I think Andrew Hussie's TNG edits are the funniest thing he's ever made. Someone edited them all into a single video:
https://youtu.be/Logy89_6jkc?t=105

Data's painting is making me dizzy.

Hussie was genuinely really funny before he became a faggot during the Homosuck era. His older MSPaint comics still make me laugh.

Isn't each game set in it's own universe? Ronnie should have specified "FF7 universe" to avoid disrespecting the other FF games.

Bee is so disgusting to look at, like a fat blob with little legs.
>>
>>153493770
Yes. There is a broader multiverse, but each mainline numbered title is it's own universe.

The holodeck does make real food and drinks
>>
>>153493770
depends on what you mean by universe
the worlds are connected by the interdimensional rift
