What makes an Ant-Man, /co/?
>>153495194The ANTS
>>153495194The size
>>153495194He's got hiiiiiigh hopes
>>153495194Why is it a weird opinion to prefer Scott Lang over Hank Pym? No disrespect to Hank, but Pym's gimmick is more leaning towards a mentality unstable scientist rather than a mantle. Plus Lang has been Ant-Man for far longer at this point. I'm not calling Hank bad, but saying putting him in the Ant-Man "box" is restricting the character. Also unrelated but its weird how the MCU never tried to introduce O'Grady as Black Ant for Thunderbolts or some shit
>>153497298People that don't read assume that Pym's tenure as Ant-Man was longer and more significant even though he lasted like a year before changing into Giant Man
>>153498005Which is especially odd given that most people who don’t read comics think Ant-Man = Scott Lang thanks to the movieThey just think that COMIC Ant-Man, specifically, is Hank Pym.
>>153497298>>153498005>>153498382I believe Earth's Mightiest Heroes is what made some think this, is a good adaptation and is usually seen as more comic accurate than the MCU so for those that watched the cartoon they might think that's how the stories went down and in that show Hank was mostly Ant-Man while simultaneously being Giant-Man, not only that but one of his most important moments, building Ultron, was done while he had that mantle in the show. Compared to the comics where was already using his second identity as Goliath.
>>153498382The only other "ant man" I can think of is warren ellis nextwave's ant man who said to have perfected size changing but it was a dead field thanks to hank pym
>>153498382Larpers are not aware of how old Scott is, he's even older than the slap. Pic related is arguably one of the most iconic Ant-Man images ever and guess who's the one under the helmet.
>>153499507It’s Eric O’Grady, of course!
>>153499530yes
>>153498651And that same show even had Scott too
>>153500913It helps that Scott's story is pretty straightforward as far as origins go, the fact that it was one of Ant-Man's most notable stories helped it become a permanent fixture.
>>153499507>LarpersGood word for it. Like whenever I talk about Ant-Man being added to Marvel Rivals, I get so much shit for saying Scott over Hank.>Bro Scott doesn't make sense to play along with JanetSince fucking when?
>>153501856My idea for Rivals would be that if they have to make them into duos, it could be something like Scott and Cassie and the alt be Hank and Janet or vice versa, thay way both fit and you get 4 ants reps
What’s Scott up to in the comics these days, /co/?
>>153501921Nah fuck that. Have Scott and Janet be separate characters, make Cassie a plushie for Scott, and Hank a plushie for Janet>>153501988I dont think he's appeared since McKay's mini
>>153502028Haven’t all of the plushies been NPCs or references only though? Like, most of them are to comic characters that aren’t in the game or pets.
>>153502028The ideal of course would be for them to be separate characters but if they were obligated, they could have different duos the fit well>>153501988Still in Florida and I think he still lives in an ant hill
>>153502219I wonder what his favorite type of ant isI’d assume leaf-cutters are pretty high up there since they’ve got air conditioning in their mounds
>>153495194>That image sizeWhat is this, a man for ants?
>>153502882Anything but bullet ants
Takes me out when he's drawn blond
>>153501988He showed up to fight Godzilla. Dunno if it's really him since this Ant-Man has an unholy combo of Hank's and Scott's suit
>>153495194i didn't care for the mcu's ant man, plus they side-lined hank pim for a star lord rip off without the crew. but i would generally say an optimistic young scientist with a neurotic obsession with ants and a naivety that leads him to make ultron, also he fucks shit out of wasp in his giant form, that is my perfect antmanthe best example i can think of is mightiest heroes
>>153506809MCU Star-Lord took a page from comic book Scott Lang because he was the Marvel character that legit would say a fuckton of movie references
>>153503755Would their aggression and painful stings really matter if he could calm them and talk to them?
>>153508098The could be non-aggressive but still have an attitude problem and act like assholes
>>153505512>Two Ant-Men are red heads while the original one is blond
>>153506835what is his problem
>>153501988He appears in the X-vengers as Variable Man. It's an AU where a muntant virus wiped some humans and mutated others, Scott was hit and got mutated, sadly Cassie and Janet are dead
Rate
>>153514909Yellowjacket Classic clears
>>153515958The real tragedy of the slap is how a cool costume forever tainted
MCU Antman was a failure because he got big to fight Thanos instead of jumping down his dickhole and ripping it apart from the inside
>>153502169Not in the case of White Fox
>>153517016Or Black Panther, or Bag-Man, or Cloak/Dagger, or Gambit…
>>153517001He never directly fought Thanos, he was so big that I think he could have grabbed him and thrown him to New Jersey
>>153511077Spielberg didn't win an Oscar with a popular movie multiple times when that was written apparently.
>>153517704Eight years before
>>153517704That comic's from the mid 80s, so it's probably talking about The Color Purple, Spielberg's first attempt at obvious Oscar-bait back when he was mostly known for blockbusters and science fiction/fantasy movies. It got 11 Oscar nominations but no wins. Some of his previous movies had won Oscars but not in categories where he was the one getting the award.
>>153495194Kek, I recognize that pose
>>153502882I find curious how one of the worst parts of being Ant-Man, is the constant death of ants in the line of work and it's pretty bad because they really form bonds with them.
>>153519401Is sad when antfrens die
>>153514909Eric's first suit is slick
>>153495194He's gotta be the size of an ant, man.
