Seriously, why did Fox/Blue Sky choose a writing duo whose only previous credits were two poorly-received films?
>>153501425Doesn't have the heart of the original. They tried with Ellie being abandoned or whatever but it doesn't hit as hard emotionally as Manny looking at those cave paintings. They also doubled down on sid and added new main comic relief characters AND had comic relief side characters. All those characters took away the grounded feel of the first movie

Only the first movie was directed by Chris Wedge. He didn't return for the sequels because he chose to direct Robots and Epic instead
