>"Think about it, Tony. You're, like, the second smartest guy in the world! Despite being 13% of the super population, mutants commit 50% of the super crime! We need to put them on a registry!"
>>

For me, it's the episode where Happy puts on the suit
>>
>>153503317
The racism/prejudice angle of X-Men was always retarded because Mutants legitimately are dangerous to everyone around them. Compare Magneto to Malcom X all you like, but I’m pretty sure the latter couldn’t yank the iron out of your blood.
>>
>>153504661
Glad there's someone else who's wise enough to see this as well.

Drawing parallels with real world bigotry and minority hate has never made any sense and will never make any sense because THE X-MEN COMICS PULL FROM PSYCHIC PULP SCI-FI BOOKS WHERE THE ENTIRE PREMISE REVOLVES AROUND:

>psychics as the "evolution of the species" and super-men engineered by other humans or aliens
>psychics being rightfully feared by humans
>psychics being generally worse off as psychics (people either shit on them, weaponize them, or they can't handle the stress of their powers)
>psychics and humans warring with each other which ends in migration, exile, one side getting forcibly evolved/devolved, or genocide

Akira, Firestarter, Elfen Lied, It's A Good Life, Slan, the Baldies, Carrie, Scanners, Dead Zone, Minority Report, Time Wanderers, etc.

The only time a psychic (Mutant) story can work for Marvel's brand of capeshit is if the psychic powers are used for stuff like...ghost hunting or solving crimes or getting rid of local bullies or doing good deeds. Besides that, the bigotry/minority angle wouldn't exist in tandem with Marvel's "world outside your window" ethos. If anything, it would be more appropriate if there was a eugenics/disability parallel for Mutants.

>attractive mutants, ones with "cool" powers (who live in wealthier/safer environments) get nothing but acceptance while ones with unstable or "evil" powers are practically expected to fall into villainy
>mutants with powers that can be more easily weaponized or exploited for capital get "accepted"
>mutants with "useless" or inconvenient/impractical powers get ignored and are frequently homeless, stuck in poverty, or join criminal gangs

Being a mutant in Marvel should be more like having ADHD or autism or having good genes that make you a good runner. For every Dan Ankroyd or Stephen Hillenburg, there's a Chris Chan or Linkara.
>>
>>153503317
I know you are probably disingenuously memeing cause of Godzilalmendzo's video but honestly this episode is probably the best handling of the mutant issue honestly.

I mean, assimilation eventually became willing segregation
Funny how that turned out
>>153504999
Who?
I just started watching this again because I want to relive my childhood where cartoons were good.

The warehouse scene with Tony, Pepper, Gene, Happy, and Rhodey jamming out was nostalgic as fuck

>I want to relive my childhood where cartoons were good
nostalgiafag alert
>>
>>153506006
Hahahaha!
Oh god
that's funny

I was so fucking depressed going back to all my kid shit to find it just as enjoyable and could barely find anything recently made close to a single one
>>
Pepper is my wife.
>>
Is this the only Iron Man thing where Tony's dad is still alive?

Also bummed out we never got to see Pepper fully use her suit.
>>
>>153503317
Was IMA any good?
>>
>>153505976
Huh colour me impressed since I figured someone did the thread cause he covered the show a week ago. I actually rewatched this show last year in its entirety funny enough since was getting back into Marvel plus I watched it a bunch growing up but never saw the whole of it. Watched entirety of EMH afterwards also since wanted to keep the great Marvel adaption buzz going. What would you say is your overall fave episode, villain in the show or even just something you think was just beat in Armoured Adventures?
>>
>>153506531
It's actually really solid, I think the CG animation has aged well all things considered, the writing plus characterisation is done extremely well and the changes it does adapting from the comics are done well plus it utilises his supporting cast and rogues gallery really well for the most part.
>>
>>153506551
Weirdly enough, I think the SAW episode and the one where they arrange a school trip to Stark Industries to retrieve the MK1 were pretty great. As for villain, Gene. Love the bastard. Pepper being sympathetic to him but still yelling at him for fucking people over made me smile every time. Plus, him having to arrange the whole rescue mission for Pepper without alerting anyone he was the Mandarin.
>>153506576
It's greeeeeeat.
You won't see anything like this anymore or probably ever again

kill me

>legitimately are dangerous to everyone around them

Oh you mean because there isn't a certain defined group that is the same IRL? I getcha
>>
>>153506628
KEK
>>
>>153504661
That's why the armored adventures episode was good. Pepper still thinks the mutant registration act is a good idea because alot of mutants are a danger to their loved ones not by choice.
>>
>>153503317
She was right, and Rhodey was a bitch for getting butthurt over it.

>>
>>153506531
It's somehow the most 1960's comics-accurate Iron Man adaptation we've got, despite being about a teenage Tony Stark in high-school.
>>
>>153504661
you could shoot you in the face with an m1carbine however
>>
>>153506576
They did however make Tony way too OP
>By the mid second season he's basically Matrix-Revolutions Neo in a power armor
>The main bad guy shows up in a giant mecha; Tony just casually flies close to it and shuts it down remotely
>Mandarin struggles with his quest to obtain the rings; Tony just shows up and solves all the riddles in 2 minutes
>Pepper gets her own armor at the moment where Tony can solve any problem by himself and doesn't really need more help

>Compare Magneto to Malcom X all you like, but I’m pretty sure the latter couldn’t yank the iron out of your blood.
I didnt like how magneto turned that guy senator Kelly into water
I thought that was super fucking weird, that shit has been on my mind for 20 years ever since I was a kid
Its up there with goblin vaporizing those people in spider-man 1 for me lmao
>>
>>153503317
Its funny that Rhodey was the one to make pepper chill with the anti mutant sentiment, especially since hes black lol

>>153504661
Not all mutants are dangerous, a bunch literally just have fins or some shit or can just shoot a tiny ass flame from their pinky and thats it

Some like the morlocks are just (no offense) straight up deformed, at least in terms of conventional human living, if anything i feel bad for them since even they get treated differently by "pretty" mutants, even on Krakoa

That bejng said though you have some mutant abilities that are dangerous even for other mutants

Truth be told, its nkt the mutants that are dangerous, its the mind behind them

They're people just like us, for better or for worse, meaning some can (potentially)blow up a block yet be chill as fuck, while one can legitimately be a psycho dickhead and have the same power

Its not the mutants to fear at all (besides theres a bunch of other paranormal shit in marvel), its whether or not these people are good and can control and honestly their gifts.

Honestly I say we solve the debacle by making state funded mutant schools to help mutants similar to the Xavier Institute instead of funding sillyass sentinels

Im down to draw pepper if anyone has any ideas

It's interesting looking back and seeing how many drawfags were cutting their teeth on this show.
Seems forgotten nowadays.

Not all caucasians are dangers to everyone else.
>>
>>153504661
Yeah but the only ones with superpowers that ever face racism/prejudice are mutants. Not Inhumans, not other aliens or powered freaks. It's pure prejudice to say some mutant kid is a threat to the society but someone who obtained nuclear powers from a mist cloud or alternative world is great and deserves them.

TMNT Mutants are thankfully just furries, if you get mutated you'll probably just turn into an animal of some kind and get enhanced senses and athleticism. X-Men mutants can have cool powers, but they routinely lack required secondary powers (like rogue always having her energy drain on 100%), worst case scenario you end up as a horribly disfigured morlock with glass bones or some shit.

the X-men mutants are regularly a hazard to both themselves, innocent bystanders, and sometimes the fabric of reality.

Just finished it yesterday. It's got really good writing and designs despite being cel-shaded CGI.

Eversince disney bought out and stripmined marvel for all that it's worth, we've been deprieved of this lower to middle range boy's brand capable of partnering with everyone and anyone under the sun to popularize their characters. Pre-disney Marvel really was like the boy's equivalent of Sanrio, and so too was DC but to a lesser degree.

Famously 90's Marvel saw alot of competition from the indies like Spawn, TMNT, Savage Dragon, Tick, Maxx, etc in this space. Having mentioned as much, could any other characters take on that niche nowadays? People like to insist Invincible or the Boys could, but the simple matter of fact is that both properties are very clearly marketed towards older audiences even if kids love them. Short of total reinvention or some sort of spin off I dont think they could do it. But man, I wish somebody could. We really need some variety again.

>>153517053
Well Dr Doom mogs Magneto always so pretty accurate on that front.

Finally, you realize comics using real life allegories for actual social problems are for children.
>>
>>153506628
You're a child and deserve to be a scared faggot.
>>
>>153504661
it's fine as a broad allegory for prejudice but tends to fall apart when they draw direct parallels to specific forms of it
>>
>>153518334
Star Trek did that every other episode and is well-liked.
