What is the third biggest Superhero Universe after Marvel and DC? Valiant? TMNT? Miraculous?
>>153517140>TMNT>Superhero Universe
>>153517140Biggest?Do you mean in terms of developed ideas in the setting or are you referring to the property's value?
>>153517207>has multiple heroes>has multiple villains>even has hero teams in the TMNT and MutanimalsIn what way is it NOT a superhero universe?
>>153517140Ben 10
>>153517208Both, to be honest. I'm interested both in the view from superhero fans, cultural footprint, and general most expansively developed. The one thing I'm thinking is a superhero universe doesn't necessarily NEED to originate from comics. I'd argue Miraculous is a superhero universe.
>>153517249Are there non-Ben affiliated heroes in the setting out doing their own thing? I know there's villains that largely are doing their own thing that Ben runs into.
>>153517140In popularity, Invincible In terms of scale, Valiant
>>153517140the astro city/project superpower stuff
>>153517249didnt this get stupidly ridiculous like he could merge alien species ? i liked the idea of ben 10k, because it means hes travelled everywhere, but not mixing aliens over and over, seems way too op and dont even mention X
>>153517207yes there are in universe superheros in TMNT they're just not the focus of the comics
>>153517227It's not a shared setting, everything revolves around the turtles and their adventures
Anpanman
>>153517813AFAIK aside from meeting the turtles and being mutated the same way, the adventures and enemies of the Mighty Mutanimals have nothing to do with the TMNT.
>>153517140
>>153517140Unironically power rangers.
Does Image still have a verse?
>>153517140>>153517207>>153517208Then TMNT definitely comes close yeah. The thing is nobody's ever managed to make a cape universe as iconic or full scale as the big two that's lasted as long as the big two. The Image guys came the closest and then fucked everything up overtime for a number of reasons. Since then it's been retooled as many times as Valiant's but there's still no real connective tissue between the major characters. So the best you can turn your attention to isnt as much alternative superhero universes as it is alternative individual capeshitters. Even then Hellboy, Spawn, Maxx, Nexus, Madman. They're all over the hill now. The tank's running empty and the big studios wont put in the work to revitalize the likes of Space Ghost, Thundercats, Gargoyles, etc.
>>153518234Barely. It's more like the remaining Image characters cameo in random titles
>>153517227According to Laird it's dubious if the TMNT are actually superheroes at all, he maintains they aren't.
>>153517973That jaguar guy was in those comics alot but never got a action figure
>>153517140Anpanman.In fact, he might be bigger than both DC and Marvel.
>>153518546Laird says a lot of things
