>Spider Man's archenemy>Superior to all other Marvel villains>Has only been portrayed once in a live action movieWhy is this?
>>153518466Because he sucks. Hes stiltman tier.
>>153518466how Spiderman villains other than Green Goblin and Venom have been portrayed more than once in a live action film
>>153518481Nope
No one will top Molina, just like no one is going to top JK Simmons, it's accursed.
>>153518466>wanting a good villain to be butchered by an adaptationwhat is wrong with you
>>153518466>Spider Man's archenemy>Superior to all other Marvel villains>Has only been portrayed once in a live action movieBecause that's how marketing and toy sales work. Also, what the fuck does OP pic have to do with the Stormin' Norman Osborne?
Doc Ock was a joke before Spider-Man 2. Then he was a joke again until Superior Spider-Man. Now that that's over, he's just a joke again.
>>153518466Why did you post Doctor Octopus instead of Green Goblin?
>>153518593>Doc Ock was a joke before Spider-Man 2.rude he was my favorite as kid even before that movie
>>153518593Wrong
>>153518593>Doc Ock was a joke before Spider-Man 2.doc ock was neck and neck with green goblin in the ditko era
>>1535184661) He's too much like bystander to his own big moments. George Stacy? He didn't actually attack him. If This Be My Destiny? Left his base to collapse on Spidey. Sinister Six? Inherently diluted by being part of a team.2) As a portly scientist, he's inherently a bit goofy to the average reader, and he's not the right kind of insane that works off of that. Like they actually played with it a bit in that one comic series, I forget the name of it. The one where it's like, minis that revisit the origins of Spider-Man villains and redoes them. Otto is teased there as being the kind of like, detached, demented, slovenly, indulging mad scientist, but then always reveals that no, Otto is just disturbed and downtrodden. He'll lash out and attack but he's not that kind of evil.
>>153518493*how many
>>153518466>Why is this? The tentacles are hard to get right
>>153518466He's not that cool looking for a film. He's a relatively ugly little middle age guy in a radiation suit with robot arms. Meanwhile Green Goblin, Venom, Hobgoblin, they have iconic looks that directors love.Plus he was a nobody in the 90s. Dock Ock fell off pretty badly for a while and no one cared about him since he was not one of the extreme cool villains.
>>153518593He was a joke like most 60s era villains in the late 80s to late 90s. Most were killed off and replaced by cooler more extreme villains that wore leather jackets and had asymmetrical costumes. Wasn't just Spider-Man, most villains in that era were replaced or updated. Just about every GL and Flash villain was replaced by a new guy at that time. Half the classic Batman villains were considered lame old silver age relics too.
>>153518466>Spider Man's archenemyNah, his true archfoe is, and always will be, Green Goblin.
>>153518466He’s already been done right
>>153519731>Plus he was a nobody in the 90s. Dock Ock fell off pretty badly for a whileI'm more of a Norman Osborn guy but even I know that's not true, Octo had a great early 90s with the white suit and the Sinister Six revivals and his backstory getting fleshed out, he was doing great until Kaine killed him. He was dead for almost 3 years of the 90s, and most of his stories after his return sucked because Spider-Man comics in general tended to suck by the later 90s.He arguably had a worse 1980s, with years spent with a crippling phobia of Spider-Man, probably so they could push Hobgoblin as the new hotness, and by the time Ock finally gets back to normal, Venom is introduced right afterwards.
>>153518466Ock>Spider-Man 2>Spider-Man Far From HomeOlivia Ock>SpidererseNorman>Spider-Man 1>Far From HomeHarry>Spider-Man 3>Amazng Spider-Man 2Seems like he has the same number of appearances as Norman and Harry.
>>153518466He's better as a loli
>>153519793technically, Norman was also in Spiderverse, though i get why you wouldn't really want to count him
>>153518593He shouldn't be a joke, that nigga is smart
>>153518466because he's still a non-superpowers dude who is more helpless than a newborn baby without his mechanical tentacles
>>153518466>archenemyThat's goblin.>superior to all marvel villainsEhh, i mean, not really.>only once in a live action movieTwice sorta.>>153518593That's not true either, ock's the number 2/3 of the rouges gallery.
>>153518922>The tentacles are hard to get rightwhat? they made them pretty accurate right away >>153519781this
>>153518466It's not like most comic villains get more than one outing in the movies.
>>153518481Bad baitImagine not wanting a set of Doc Ock arms?
>>153518466DOCTOR OCTAGONAPUS
>>153518611Because, let's be honest, Green Goblin was always a pile of shit until he ditched the suit and just became evil as Norman Osbourne. That's right, Norman Osbourne is a superior villain to his own costumed alter-ego.
>>153518466Remember that stupid scene in No Way Home where Holland, Zendaya and the CEO of Sex all laughed at how silly the name "Doctor Octopus" is?That's why.Even after the success of the MCU execs think comic books are all retarded childish garbage (granted, they aren't ENTIRELY wrong as a LOT of idiots at Marvel and DC LOVE to prove them right more often than not) BUT it is a pervasive mindset. The Boys is only popular among normies because it is the 90/2000s era "mature" (tryhard with swearing, gross out/toilet humor and sex/nudity) because that counteracts the embarrassment they feel dealing with capeshit IPs.Beau DeMayo is a weirdo but nothing has contradicted what he said about how Feige and the whole "tacticool" pseudo-military aesthetic obsession to make the comic designs look less 'lame' in real life.Even recently, Morrison called out Lindeloff for mocking "Green" as "stupid" because those idiots think the reason the Ryan Reynolds film flopped was because there was too much 'green' and not the shoddy CGI and questionable plot.
I liked that he's not exactly evil. Or maybe it's my twisted perception because of second Raimi film.
>>153518912One thing I liked in the 90s series was that Otto knew and liked Peter.
>>153523389There tend to be more maniacal screaming rants than Molina showed.

>The scientist in training hero with an 8-limbed animal motif fights a scientist villain with an 8-limbed animal motifBravo, Lee.
>>153526137Also venom, cannibalism, and humans are impressed with their predatory strats but I don't think there's a biome in the world where they're apex.
>>153518504This.
>>153518466Because they don't know how to make him even more fun and even more menacing.
Because Marvel can't depict the 'No homo chip' without being canceled
>>153529412>No homo chipQrd?
>>153518481Wrong Lol
>>153521587I came into the thread looking for this
>>153531035https://youtu.be/NiWlwybk0h0
they should have copied the penguin and constantly given his robo arms different gagets and tech instead he just uses them as grabby tentacles the whole time gets boring best use of doc ock was when he merged with carnage and became monster ock
>>153518466If they added Green Goblin I'd play Rivals
>>153525708Yeah, and I'm honestly surprised that angle hasn't been pushed more. It's something that would help both Otto and Peter. It paints the former as more of someone that genuinely was respectable and had been twisted beyond belief through abuse, paranoia, accident, neglect, and so on, and it gives more credence to the latter trying to understand his villains more and hoping for their rehabilitation. But also in general I always like how Otto has been a bit of a tragic villain that people can sort of reach out to, whether it's him agreeing to help Richards (for as little as it paid off) in Fantastic, or acquiescing to help Peter let civilians caught up in the fighting escape (even if he then was content to allow the same building to drop on Peter). I will still never forgive Wells and Slott for backsliding him after Spock Vol 2 and Superior Four, when he was otherwise almost finally about to properly settle into his role as an Anti-Villain
>>153531198You mean what Doctor Octopus has currently been doing in the comics since after Superior Spider-Man? Like he's been pimping out his tentacles and giving them neat trick for a while now, even in the crap Wells run he had the funky new as that could split apart into little gooey drones.
>>153522594>ceo of sexI somehow haven't heard this meme until just now, that's the sign that I hermited too hard
